Just Back from a WONDERFUL Trip, But I Think "They" Are On to Us!

I just got home a few hours ago from a WONDERFUL trip (Early May is my new favorite time to go!) Crowds weren't anywhere near as bad as predicted or as I feared -- we walked right on to alot of rides, including the biggies like BTMR, Soarin' and Pooh. The Flower and Garden Festival was so beautiful, I loved seeing that!

I think though that the rest of the world is on to us, that is, when it comes to the early morning, do Fantasyland 1st thing. We got to the park at 9am and headed for Fantasyland, we strolled though, stopped to take pictures, ect, when we got to FL, I was very surprised by the amount of people there (it was not an EMH day) -- I mean it wasn't totally mobbed, but it was semi-mobbed, the wait for Dumbo was 40 minutes, Ariel the same and a couple other rides too. We were in no rush so we walked around, went on the carousel, but then I decided to go watch Cinderbrellation and do Belle's Storytime, then we went and had lunch and pretty soon it was time to head back to the hotel for a pool break, after that we went back to MK and hit Fantasyland around 5ish and nothing had more than a 10 minute wait! We walked right on Teacups, Pooh, Philharmonic and Small World. Dumbo was not even a 10 minute wait. We did Teacups and Small World twice. It was great! Then we went to Toontown, short lines for all the characters and no line for Goofy's Barnstormer. Longest we waited was about 20 minutes for the Princess's meet and greet in Toontown. I was amazed. Dinnertime might be the new "it" time for Fantasyland.

I also found out on a Spectro night, around 8:30pm is a great time to go on BTMR and Splash Mountain. Everyone is getting their parade spots and there were no lines at all at either of those rides. Since the parade ends in Frontierland, we even had time after the rides to grab a bite to eat to take out and eat before the parade showed up. Granted it wasn't high season, but we had no problem finding a good spot to sit and watch the parade and we got to do two of the big rides with no wait at all.

I was so worried about the crowds for this trip, but we never waited more than 20 minutes for anything. I think our longest wait was Kali River Rapids at AK, that one was about 20 minutes. I was all prepared to wait forever for Soarin', but at 11:30am we pretty much walked on, not even a 10 minute wait! Yippee!

We had a really wonderful time and I'll definitely be planning an early May trip again!

I always head to Adventureland first and go around the opposite way of most people. Very few people go that way, and for the first couple of hours you are there, even on capacity days, you feel like you are one of the few people in the park. Most people just naturally head to the right (I have read it has something to do with being right-handed), so heading left is out of the norm. We are a family of lefties (though DH and I were both taught as children to write with our right hands - we do everything else left handed), so I guess it is just our natural inclination to go the opposite way!

WaltD4Me, that sounds like you had a great trip!. Welcome back,

Sounds like your trip was great! Welcome back! :sunny:

We have always went to the left---counterclock-wise. I have felt this has been the best way and to utilize fast pass. :)

I was going to do Space Mountain before Splash Mountain, but now you have me thinking......
