The beach cottage was gorgeous! Our family was blown away! We spent 3 nights at Vero and then moved to 3 studios at OKW for 2 nights.

I'm happy to answer any questions - so fire away.

Do you own at Vero, so were you able to use the 11 month window to get the Grand villa? I had wondered about my chances of getting a GV 7 months out at Vero. Thanks!

What kind of boats if any were available for rent at the beach (sunfish, kayak etc.)? Are they still renting beach chairs and umbrellas?

Thanks

We own at BWV but booked the Beach Cottage in October, so it was only 5 months out. At that time, February was booked solid, and Easter week was booked solid. We were able to pick and choose various dates in March and we settled on 4 nights (Sun-Wed) and then dropped Wed in favor of an extra day at WDW. The points killed us at 78 per night (prime season). We would do a Beach Cottage again in a minute, but not when the points are so high.

Regarding boat rentals - I honestly didn't pay much attention as the area had severe riptides and waves (remnants of the Northeast blizzard the week before) and we wouldn't even have considered going out in a kayak or jetski. I do recall seeing jetskis for rent during our last trip there in September - can't tell you how much.

Regarding chairs/umbrellas. Yes - they do still rent them. It was $18 per day for 2 chairs and 1 umbrella for members - a little more if you are a non member. You can leave the beach and show your receipt later in the day to get the setup again (if you decide to take a break for lunch or whatever).

The only other item we rented on the beach were boogie boards. They were $7 each for the day.

We were at Vero also from Sat - Wed. We went into the cottage that was serving coffee in the AM and thought it was great. It must have been fun. We then stayed at BWV from Wed - Sat. It was a great week and I hope yours was the same.

It was great and I highly recommend hitting that open house to get a firsthand view of the beach cottage for anyone visiting Vero. We had people walking by asking us how the beach cottage was. We told them to walk down a couple of houses and see for themselves.

The first two trips to Vero we stayed in Beach Cottages (had big groups) on the next trip with just the thre of us my daughter couldn't understand why we weren't staying in one :).

We were at VB Tues-Thurs, staying in a nice inn room. We stopped by the Beach Cottage Tues afternoon- WOW. What a view!
