Just back from 7/8 Magic

Ok all here it is
IT WAS FABULOUS

There is not one thing to complain about
Yes it was jamed back with people at times - mostly the deck parties but aside from that it was wonderfully magic-al.

Not enough hrs in the day or days in the week to do it all.
The early hrs of customs for St. Thomas and disembarking I could do with out, but everythings else

For all yet to go on your first DCL DONT MISS THE SHOWS they are the WOW of the ship .

Well, I am still trying to get my "Land" legs so I'll see ya real soon

Glad you had a great time. It may take awhile for the swaying sensation to stop, but others say it a reminer of the wonderful time on the ship!

Ahh...you did the EASTERN... Any tips on excursions? We do not go until Feb but I like to start getting ideas!!!

The excersions we did were:
St. Maarten - dolphin encounter - excellent - once in a life experience. Food was ok but everything else was terrific.

St. Thomas - the Buck Island catamaran and snorkel tour. Awsome. Fun in the sun and water, fish, sunken ship, and an all around great day.
Then we just walked around the shopping area and shopped

Castaway -aaaahhhhhhh Castaway so much to do, so little time to do it. We did the banana boat ride. A lot of fun. But not for the weak. I had to go because my younger daughter was not 12 yet, so under 12 has to have an adult. I have a bad back and it was not so good for the back. Plus I had to hold on for dear life so my arms were and still are killing me. I had fun but am paying for it now. We then relaxed at the beach and went on to the stringray swim and interaction. That too was cool. No time left for Adult beach

Then back to the ship to do the mad dash to pack, eat, enjoy the shows, shop and get the luggage out by 11:00 - no wonder I am still exhausted

Now for our servers -they were the most fabulos men I have met.
Pairoj and Leslie (a guy). If any of you get them they are wonderful, personable, loving. We wanted to take them home with us, especially Pairoj.

I took a ton of shots from the webcams last Saturday practicing with a new technique. The pictures are 3-4 seconds apart and could be put in a video editing program. If you are interested LMK and I would be happy to email them to you.

When were you on the Magic last. I want to know because if you were on after May you might've seen Sal. Sal is an actor in the shows who played Franco in Twice Charmed and The bella Notte singer in the Golden Mickeys.

Ok, first....
Early customs for St. Thomas was at 6:30 AM and that was after the Pirate deck party. Unfortunately that is the way it has to be. St. Thomas tell DCL when customs will come aboard and no one can get off till its done. And the pirate party has the fireworks and can only be the night they do it due to regulations regarding the fireworks.

I do have pictures, but I do not know how to post them. If anyone can help me with that I will be more then happy to post.

My DD9 wants to do this. Just how bumpy is it? If you fall off, how quickly will they stop and pick you up?

since your dd is 9 an adult has to go with her. It is like riding a bucking bronco. No one in our group fell off, but on another ride 2 sec in everyone fell off. They must not have been ready for them to take off or something. The do stop as fast as possible and come back for you but I think you have to be able to get back on from the water by yourself. They do not get out of their boat to help you. If you cant, I guess maybe they will, but they did not for this particular group. The group themselves helped each other. Its alot of fun, but it did bother my back ( I have a bad back and really should not have done it, but my dd11 could not if I didnt and I didnt want to disappoint her) and my arms are still sore - 3 days later- as there was no way I was falling off.

We were on this sailing too! We had a great time!

The weather was really great except for one sea day when we were really rockin'.

Our servers were Toney and Carlos and they were AWESOME! My youngest son adored them and cried on the last morning when he realized we would not see them that night for dinner!

Since you made it there and back things must have worked out but I have to ask what ever happened with your birth certificate problems?

I had to order a Certificate of Birth of US citizen born abroad. Even with that plus my regular birth certificate I got a couple of stange looks. At least now I have everything I need should the opportunity arise for future travel and I have to get a passport.

My son and I made our Parasailing reservation for 3:30 in the afternoon and by that time the breeze had picked up. I say breeze because that's all it felt like to us. But, they canceled our parasailing because they said it was too dangerous. So, next time I will probably try to make our reservation for earlier in the day. Who knows? I guess it could be breezey any time of the day.
