We had a great time last week. We absolutely loved CSR. I think it's the prettiest resort I've stayed at. The landscaping is just beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed the Dig Site pool. I washed one load of clothes Friday afternoon with no problem - plenty of washers and dryers and swam in the quiet pool. We really enjoyed the Pepper Market and ate there 3 times. We had vouchers and they worked out great there. We checked in around 12:00 and got a room right away on Monday. We had very nice CM's and good housekeeping. We NEVER had to wait for the elevators and very rarely had to wait more then 10 minutes tops for the buses. The only thing I'd do differently is stay in Casitas. We were in Ranchos - which were just as pretty as Casitas - but it was the exact opposite side of the resort. That wasn't a problem usually because we enjoyed looking at the plants and tons of wildlife - rabbits, ducks, cranes etc. - but the first morning I'd forgotten to get milk and that was a very LONG walk when you're in a hurry to eat breakfast in the room and get on the bus. The Cabanas probably are the best location - right between the food court ant the Dig site - but I like the way the Casitas and the Ranchos area looked better.

I'd be glad to answer questions if you have any!

Hi Debbie, welcome back!! Glad you had a good trip. I'll be at CSR pretty soon!!

Welcome back. Glad you enjoyed your stay. Would you stay at CSR again.:wave2:

Sounds like you had a great time. Just wondering if you have stayed at any of the other moderates & how it compared. Does the resort seem too hot? Maybe a dumb question but Riverside seems like it's a cooler location (especiually if going in the summer). Glad you enjoyed it - considering trying it next myself.

Disney Debbie - I was in ranchos at Coronado Springs last week myself!! I was in 6B - where were you?

Hi, Glad to hear a good report.

We have never stayed at CSR. How did your DD like the resort?

My 20 yo dd andher gf are going to Disney alone in January. We were thinking Pop Century to keep costs down, but a mod is not much more. She has stayed at CBR and POR before.

The Pepper Market is pricy tho.

herc.

Sami - I would definitely stay there again - but as I said - I'll request Casitas next time.

Nolcrest - I've stayed at POR and I enjoyed it immensely - but I'd pick CSR as my favorite of the two. I don't think your question is dumb at all - I had the same concerns because I'm normally not attracted to SW themed things. But I'd say the landscaping is just as lush - if not more so - as POR and the walks have plenty of trees, shrubs and flowers bordering them. I think I was just so blown away with how much I liked it - when I really wasn't sure if I would or not! I live in S. Georgia so POR is pretty much landscaped the way my home town is and isn't as much of a change for me. I'm not really interested in staying at CBR and can't part with the money to stay at a deluxe, so I imagine CSR will be our resort of choice from now on!

Antonia - I was in 6B as well! We were in 6334. I looked everywhere for DIS'ers!! I asked several people in lime green if they "Dis'ed" but they were just people wearing lime green!

Hercamore - My DD loved it as well. We enjoyed the Pepper Market - but we had vouchers so cost wasn't a factor for us. I'd highly recommend them to anyone that is staying at CSR. (I posted about it on the budget board)

Glad you enjoyed CSR-WDW's best kept secret! We stayed in Cabana's-nice location, but loved the Casitas and Ranchos. I would love to have a room that opens up the the lion fountain!

I'm glad you enjoyed your stay! We were in Cabanas 8B (June 8-11) and thought everything about the resort was great! We've stayed at POR too and like CS better. :D

We love it too! Casitas is my favorite area...but I would definitely request lakeview!

I'm glad you loved CSR too, Disney Debbie!
It is a gorgeous resort and it's our favorite moderate Disney resort.
The Casitas are wonderful and we like to stay in a water view room. The view doesn't matter, but the location is better.
I've been able to get some great deals at The Boardwalk (our very favorite) but I miss CSR!
I think we will stay there when we go in November for The Food and Wine Festival.
Although, we should stay at an Epcot resort for that....hmmm.
Maybe we'll have to go to CSR for a weekend during July!
I saw on another thread that you enjoyed the Keys to the Kingdom tour. We did that a few months ago and loved it too.

Darn - the things we "HAVE" to do!!:p

I'd love to try Boardwalk - but I'm too cheap!

We absolitely love CSR! We visited in June 2002 stayed in the Ranchos. Loved the secluded feeling of the Ranchos. Grounds were beautiful, everything was clean! Our room was very nice as well. Service in guest services, food court and just all around the resort was great. Soooo...we decided to go back to CSR in May 2004. This time was even better. We requested Casitas, had a beautiful 3rd floor king room in building 5 with a perfect view of the lake. This was a surprise honeymoon upgrade as we didn't ask for the king or the view. The grounds seemed even more beautiful this trip. The pepper market was great! We didn't care for it our first trip but gave it another shot this time and loved it! The main pool is so much fun, and the quiet pool was always empty.
People sometimes say CSR isn't as Disney-like b/c they have conventioners but I have to tell you, both of our trips were in regular season, definitely crowded. When we have stayed anywhere else this time of year, the food court is crowded, the pools are crowded, the buses are crowded...everything is crowded. Both visits to CSR were not like that. Maybe b/c those conventioners everyone seems to dislike take up some rooms, but they don't make much use of the food court, pools, and buses. We never had to wait more than 5 min for a bus and we were never standing. The CSR buses were never totally packed like we experienced at CBR and Allstar Sports. Most of all for us, as we were honeymooning in May 2004, you could walk around the lake at almost anytime of day and it is very relaxed and quiet. There just aren't tons of people running around. Speaking as a huge Disney fan, there is no shortage of the Disney feeling at CSR.

I just paid off my balance for our 7/5 package in August :Pinkbounc Aaaahh that feels good!

I requested Cabana 8a for our trip. I let my son pick the section and he liked the Cabanas the best. I think Buzz says 8a is close to the Dig Site and a bus stop.

Can't wait!
