Whew ! just got back a few hours ago and here we sit all sad and depressed. The WONDER was fabulous. We had a FANTASTIC time...the food, entertainment, everything was top notch. The kids had a great time, in fact, didn't see much of my 11-DS. Got to catch up with that kid - :yay:

Will hopefully post a full trip report with possibly a few pix. Feel free to ask any questions. Hopefully I can answer them for you.

for now, it's off to the laundry room and then back to work tomorrow !

Glad to hear that you had a WONDERful time! :)
When we got back from ours, we were also sad!
We didn't see too much out of our kids either!

We got back from our 3 nighter June 18th so you were boarding around the time we left! Do you know how badly I wanted to hide out on the ship so we could go for another round! LOL I think they might have found us somehow though??? LOL Glad you had a WONDERful time! I know we can't wait to do it again and again and again......!

my son suggested that we stow away as well. by the time we got to MCO we figured we still had enough time to get back on board and not miss anything....we did book another cruise for FEB though. At least we have something to look forward to.

Hi Shelley,
We'll be cruising for the first time in Feb. I was wondering if you knew what the DCL rules are for bringing aboard liquor of your own. (not homemade or anything, just your favorite). Some people tell me it's o.k. and I just wanted to find out for sure. It would be nice to have a before dinner drink in our room, and would be a bit cheaper too.

I was wondering about the dining rotation. I've read in the MDCG that the first and fourth nights are the same, but also read in more recent trip reports that the second and third nights are a repeat. Which was it for you?

nancass - as far as alcohol I believe you can bring your own on board. We didn't so I am not positive but I think I have read on here before that it is possible.

as far as dining rotation we had 2nd and 3rd nights the same. We had TAAP rotation. Not sure how all of that works. We really enjoyed Tritons and then Animators Palette. Parrot Cay was probably our least fave but the food at all three was still very good.

we booked again for FEB. We will be on the 7-night western for 2/10. When are you going ?

Looking forward to your report. Haven't been on the Wonder since 2000 (there were 20 of us) and I'm really looking forward to our trip in August (only 15 of us this time around).

We leave for the Wonder next week. DW doesn't believe that 11 and 9-yr old DDs will have enough to do. Would you please have DS post some of the activities that kept him so busy?

Thanks!

I thought the same thing. Thought for sure the kids would go to the lab once or twice but would not find anything exciting to do.

DS reallly liked hanging out in the lab. They have computers with tons of games and game cubes to play. He really liked Glow Jam where you go out on the sports deck at night and dance with glow sticks. He got to make flubber, have pizza, go to Studio Sea and do karaoke. ( this is something that totally amazed me becuase he wouldn't be caught dead doing karoake around here). I found him one day in Studio Sea with a bunch of friends that he made and he was actually dancing around and acting so goofy. If your DDs are into sports there were times when DS would go up on the sports deck and play different things like dodge ball and such. There is so much to do that I couldn't mention it all. We would check the kids navigators every day and highlight what sounded like fun to them. If DS got to the lab and found it not to be as much fun as he had hoped then he just checked himself out. This did not happen often - I think one time and that was the first time there was karaoke. He went for the heck of it and didn't care for it and just came back to the stateroom. Don't know what made him change his mind the second time around.

anyway, tell DW that there is plenty to do for your DDs. I had asked our kids after the cruise which they prefered - the theme parks at WDW or the cruise. They both said hands-down the cruise was better and much more fun. Go figure. :confused3

Enjoy your cruise.

How were the men dressed for dress up night? Will my DH be o-kay in a nice dress shirt and slacks, or does he need a coat and tie?

Thanks in advance,
Lesley

My DH wore dress slacks and a nice shirt and looked just fine. I don't think the 4-nighter is as "formal" as say the 7-night. Our dress up night or formal night was Monday. As a family we dressed in blacks/whites/pinks so we would get a nice family picture. We are booked on a 7-night in February 2007 and already I am stressing out about formal night and semi-formal night. DH is the type of person who thinks when on vacation we should be able to wear what we want when we want - within reason of course. He usually "dresses up" every day for work so vacation is a more relaxed time for him and his attire. He did quite well on the cruise though. DS-11 wasn't any too happy with having to dress for dinner either but all in all it went fine.

anyway, I think your DH will be fine in dress shirt and slacks. We did see some suits and ties on formal night but too many.

ENJOY your cruise.

Hi

I brought my favourite drink morgan spice half bottle with me but I never had chance to open it. As plenty drink there, lovely cocktails and we had a sparkling wines with the meals.

Otherwise, save money to bring wines etc, Perhaps you have drink before go to dinner.

Have a fun and enjoy the Cruise.
