Just back from Marathon Weekend. Weather was outstanding (just a tad chilly but beautiful nontheless). Christmas decorations were still up - gorgeous, of course!

Well, here's why I'm disappointed.... I was totally disgusted by the condition and the ODOR in the Disney theme park restrooms. I don't mean just a few of the restrooms....I mean all of them. Because I have a bladder the size of a walnut, I pretty much visit all the restrooms during my visits, and I can honestly say they all smelled horrid.

I wasn't the only guest who was commenting. Lots of women were walking in and saying "OMG, it smells in here". I even saw one woman turn around and walk out before using the restroom in Adventureland. Even the bathroom outside of O'Hana at the Poly smelled horrible. :crazy2:

In all the years I've been going to Disney, I don't ever remember the restrooms being as dirty and, well...stinky as they were this past weekend. Disney needs to get back on track with this. I know they axed alot of maintenance people to try to cut costs...this was a huge mistake.

Also, I realize that the World was busy this weekend, but regardless of crowd size, there is no excuse for the conditions of the bathrooms to be so poor. I will definitely be sending them an email this week.

We're at Disney atleast once a week and I've noticied the bathrooms have been pretty nasty lately. We went in the one in Fantasyland over by Ariel's and it was really gross. I had to look through 5 or 6 stalls to find a clean one.

Another time I went into one and I turned around to see crap on the stall wall, I literally almost got sick.

please email Disney about this! This so needs to improve-- pehaps they are not aware?
I encountered this a little on our last trip, last August.. but I hoped it was just a glitch!

That's just....eeewww! Nothing worse than a stinky potty! And I hate having to go to 4 or 5 stalls to find one that is fit for use. Yes, please e-mail them your experience!

As others have said, please email Disney. This is something I know Disney would not be happy to hear about.

I've never had any serious problems with Disney restrooms, except one time. It was at the restroom at Downtown Disney, at the end of the Marketplace, across from the Christmas store. Good lord - I think something died in there. :scared1:

Did anyone ever play the computer game Theme Park? I remember that if you didn't have the restrooms cleaned on a regular basis in that game all of the little people began to vomit. As I read this post all I could think of was that game and I pictured people coming out of restrooms all over WDW and vomiting. I hope it doesn't get that bad. And the dirty restrooms lowered your score. They were a serious consideration

Yes I remember that. I loved to make rollercoaster that just ended. :rotfl2:

I emailed Disney promptly after our return and told them exactly how I felt about their restrooms. It is pretty bad when a 6 yr old refuses to use a bathroom, which is what my daughter did in Pecos Bills. YUK!! As many people should email disney in regards to this problem. That is the only way they will know this is an ongoing problem and not just a few isolated incidents.

I agree, this past weekend they were disgusting. I walked into the one by the arcade at the BW and almost vomited from the smell, I walked out literally gagging. We were walking from Epcot to MGM, and I decided to wait until I got to MGM, because I just couldn't use the one at the BW. It was worse than the average portolet at a festival.

Sounds like everyone who has encountered this problem should e-mail! There is strength in numbers? So - who do we e-mail?

I agree that the bathrooms have all gone down hill since we first started going in 1999. That was when they still had the powdered soap!!

I remember coming home and telling my mother how clean the bathrooms were. I mean, I could not BELIEVE how spotless they were. There was ALWAYS someone in there keeping it nice, wiping off the sinks. etc. It was very impressive.

Now, There is always paper on the ground, seat covers left stuck to a wet seat, liquid soap all over the counter, and so much water on them that your shirt gets soaked when you accidentally bump against them. I also agree that they smell horrid and are far from the clean they were 7 years ago!!

The rest rooms have definitely gone downhill in the past few years.. On my last trip I actually left the park, got on one of the Disney buses and went back to my hotel room just so I could use a clean facility.. :(

What does this post say about the people who visit WDW, too? The visitors are real slobs, in my opinion. Too many people think that because they pay a bunch of money to get in, it entitles them to be pigs. I agree, the bathrooms are a mess, but Disney didn't make them a mess, the tourists did.

To all the inconsiderate people out there:

Flush the toilet, don't urinate on the seat, don't leave stinky diapers and dirty trash on the counters. Act like it's your bathroom at home, and hopefully you don't live like that at home.

You are right AJKMOM.. I cant tell you how many times Ive waited for a stall, and when the lady walks out, and I walk in.. I think.. how disgusting!! And whats worse, when you are in a line, you cant really walk out and say " nah... this one is too gross for me, you take it and I will wait for the next one". It really is a shame how foul and disgusting some people really are. I even ALWAYS make sure my kids have flushed!! If you are old enough to be in the bathroom alone, you are old enough to know to try and keep your stall at least decent.

My question is, how the heck does the poop end up on the walls?
