Just back....disappointed

It was worse than the average portolet at a festival.

:sad1: These are the quality measures Disney used to be famous for. Whichever finance person(s) decided that cutting back on bathroom cleaning would be a good idea made an incredibily short-sighted business decision.

I am glad I am a man and do not have to worry about sitting on those nasty toilets, but the flip side is having four daughters and having to try to clean a mens room :crazy2: toilet good enough to allow them to sit on it. Then of course by the time you get it cleaned and get them on it the auto flush goes of and scares them right out of the stall!

I traveleled with a 2 year old over Christmas (cant squat over a seat) so I noticed the yucky bathrooms more too. She had the routine down by time we left, wipe seat, place seat cover, potty, flush, wash hands with soap and dry.

That said, I really appreciated the excellent condition of the SSR main pool bathroom. We visited the pool as well as the neighboring Community Hall ALOT during our 7 night stay and my niece used that potty more than the one in our room. It was always spotless or being cleaned. Nice large walk in (not stalls) water closets that I could easily assist her.

I would do more than just e-mail (too easy to be ignored). I would definetly call one of the main phone #'s.
....and could you please do it before we get there in Feb??? LOL :flower3:

I experienced the same thing when I was there in November. The restrooms at MGM were particularly nasty.

I don't understand how Disney can make a ride smell like fruit but can't use the same "magic" in the bathroom! :sunny:

That has GOT to be a tag in the making! I hope the tag fairy sees that!

My question is, how the heck does the poop end up on the walls?

This grosses me out just saying it but it was smeared on the wall, it was beyond disgusting.

As others have said, please email Disney. This is something I know Disney would not be happy to hear about.

I've never had any serious problems with Disney restrooms, except one time. It was at the restroom at Downtown Disney, at the end of the Marketplace, across from the Christmas store. Good lord - I think something died in there. :scared1:

Sorry... that was just me.

I must have found the only clean restrooms in the parks this past weekend because I didn't notice any horrible smells from them :confused3

However, Sunday at EMH at MK it smelled like raw sewage in Fantasyland :crazy2:

Just sent my e-mail...even though I haven't been yet! LOL

OMG, you are making me gag. :scared: We leave in less than a week.

DISNEY please do something., FAST!

My daughter and I just returned Jan 8 from being there since Jan 2. I agree, the bathrooms were very dirty, messy and downright disgusting. I did see one or two workers in a couple of the bathrooms in Epcot. I thought the parks were also very dirty, but the crowds were very big the first 3 days of our vacation, so it makes sense that there would be a lot of clutter. We did have a wonderful time. The buses were great and rarely waited more than about 10 minutes. The Magical Express was wonderful and efficient. The only other complaint I have is the rude people trying to push their way in front of us all week long, and it's not the majority, but irritating. And the strollers running up the backs of our heels. :confused3

I found the same thing at the MK during our stay in December....It was like someone let a pack of barnyard animals loose in there. Papertowels all over the floor, "wet" toilet seats, toiletpaper all over the floors...and the odor was something that I can't describe and wouldn't want to experience again. Of course those barnyard animals were all guests who couldn't be bothered actually hitting the toilet with their "deposit", putting the used papertowels in the waste basket or flushing. While I agree Disney isn't keeping up, it's reasonable to expect guest's to have some minor consideration while using the facilities as they are supposed to be used. That disgusting mess was all the guest's fault.

I encountered a particularly disgusting bathroom at Typhoon Lagoon this past July. It was near Humunga Cowabunga and it was early in the morning (around 10 am and the park had opened at 9 am). There was 'poop' on the wall in the stall and the floor was sopping wet (not a little wet from the water park goers bathing suits)...If anyone wants to post Disney's email address I will definitly send an email!

Unfortunetly I have also found this to be true. The bathrooms have been downright nasty lately!

Gosh I am so sorry to read this. In haven't been in 18 months but I always felt pretty good about Disney's bathrooms.

I always thought they had someone in there all the time, or at least they used to. Keeping up with a bathroom with a couple dozen stalls is a fulltime job.

Yes guests are disgusting but that is always the case; if you're going to run a themepark that services tens of thousands a day it is to be expected.

And remember the broken windows theory.... if something already looks trashed people will take less care with it. If the bathrooms are kept neat and pristine guests will treat them better.

That is wierd. We were there last year during Spring Break - very crowded and I never thought the restrooms were too bad. We'll be there this week so I hope they have cleaned up their act!! I wonder if they have cut back on staff recently or something?

Now that I think about it, during our last trip in October, it was the very first time I EVER noticed ANY clogged up, "unusable" stalls in ANY WDW restroom. Yup. Gross! We have come to expect a level of cleanliness in park restrooms and are now noticing the effects of fewer CM's.

melomouse

Gosh, we leave tomorrow and I hope they've taken care of the problem. I've been to WDW multiple times and never had a problem yet. Thanks for the heads up.

We were there for 13 days in August, I have 2 D so we do visit the bathroom quite a bit, and we had the same problem with filthy bathrooms, what is unexcusable is that very ofter the toilet were not flushed, and those were not the automatic one, came on people how difficult is it to flush after you are done......
