Just Back! Daytime crowds were not bad!

I was at the parks 6/24-6/28 and I must say that the crowds were not bad! It started to feel crowded about 2-3pm and the evenings were quite packed. I think I heard that they closed DL due to crowds on Saturday evening. Mornings were the best times and Early Entry was the best time to due Nemo. There is no dragon for Fantasmic yet The weird aspect was the number of breakdowns that were occuring. We experience 14 breakdowns in the time that we were their. 10 of those required evacuations. Most of the time we were just getting into line, but we got to ride with the lights on for Indy and Peter Pan. Very cool! Does that many breakdowns in 4 days seem unusual?

That sounds like an abnormally large number of breakdowns. Glad you had fun!

On our last trip in May California Scream'n and Roger Rabbit both broke down several times. Scream'n had to be evacuated once. Indy broke down once for a few hours as did Space. In Feb. RR was down and the monorail was very intermittant.

We were there about the same time as you we had the same experience with ride breakdowns Indy and screamin' splash too were down quite a bit.
And yup the crowds were building each evening too. But I still had a great time
Can't wait to get back! LOL

we were there on the 28th and there were 3 breakdowns around 6:15 that we knew about

The monorail, Nemo submarines and matterhorn all were back up adn running later that night

It did seem very odd for that many breakdowns

We were there yesterday (6/29) for the first half of the day and were also surprised at how light the crowds seemed. We drove into the M&F parking structure around 7:30am and there was no one there! Usually there is a huge line waiting there for us.

Also, we met up with my sister PinkBudgie and her DH who have been there since 6/24 and she was also mentioning a lot of breakdowns. I can't remember all of them that she said but I know the DL Railroad brokedown and they also had to walk off of Indy. We didn't have any breakdowns yesterday morning or afternoon though. How strange that there have been so many recently.

We were there last week (June 22-27) and I agree that the daytime crowds were very manageable. Night time, at least on Friday, was . The only ride we had break down was California Screamin, and it was unfortunate because it was on our last night We tried to go shopping instead, but it was just too crowded for that.

No, the park wasn't closed on Saturday, the crowds were high but not horrible. We missed the breakdowns as we spent our first evening in DCA but we heard about them.

Thanks for the update! Wow, riding with the lights on for Indy AND Peter Pan both? That is way cool! I wonder if that's the definition of a park regular...someone who likes it when a ride goes down while they're on it.

I think there have been a lot more breakdowns lately too...I remember them being fairly rare even back in 2005, but on my 4 day/4 night trip I know that there were outages for Matterhorn, PotC, Nemo, Gadget's Go-Coaster, Splash Mountain, and Indy--and those are all ones that I was physically in the area (and more often than not, wanting to ride) when the rides were down. Of course Golden Zephyr was down almost the whole time, but I don't consider that an outage since it would have been due to wind.

None went down while I was on them, though (2005 I was on Roger Rabbit when it went down, but don't remember anything else going down unexpectedly at all).

We went last night too and it was super light! Strangely so. We walked into the park about 5:15 and we left at 9:45 and I can't believe how many rides we were able to do in that short amount of time!!!

15 times to both WDW and DL. I don't like the rides to go down, but it is cool to see what it looks like when all the lights are on. For example, in Peter Pan, the clouds over the city of London looked like crumpled up clear plastic bags.

We did Indy once with the lights up, we actually stopped right after you see Indy for the first time, he says "go left" and he's holding the doors closed with his back, well in the next room we stopped.....and sat for a loooooooong time, I want to say it was probably 15-30 min. We didn't time it but man it was long! Anyway, it finally started up again and the lights were up until we got to the bridge, then they went back down and the ride was back on, when we got the end they asked if we wanted to go again and everyone in our jeep yelled "GO AGAIN"!!!!! LOL So we got to ride it again. I really think we broke down in the best place tho, I'd hate to have the magic ruined on Indy, or on Peter Pan, that would just be sad.

We were there 6/21-6/24 and the crowds were great before 1130am. We walked onto Nemo at opening on Sunday and had Toon town to ourselves with all the charcters when it opened later in the morning. The crowds really picked up in the afternoon though and by evening it was a mass of humananity- more than i have ever seen at a Disney Park. Splash was closed one day of our trip as was Monsters Inc, and Indy was down for a few hours on another day. We did everything we wanted to do in the am. Dumbo and tinkerbell didn't fly because of high winds and we did have to stake out a spot for fantasmic for 2 hours but still not bad mornings at all for summer.

I didn't find 6/21 or 6/22 to be terribly crowded, myself, but I heard things started getting more crowded by the end. The Fantasmic crowds were pretty big on 6/22 but at least I didn't hear any "Fantasmic is full" announcements. We got very good seats for the second show by waiting through the first and then slipping into place during fireworks (thanks again, DIS Boards ).

Though I was very prepared for huge crowds based on what I'd heard about the week prior to our trip.
