We just got back from a 8 night stay (at WL) from Dec 11 to the 19th. It was great. The weather was nice and the crowds were very light. A few notes of interest:
Longest line we waited in: Jungle Cruise on Monday the 12th. 30 minutes
Longest line we saw: Soarin. We rode it on Tuesday, Dec 13th. The wait was 50 minutes at 4:00pm. Got fast passes at 4:00, went on the land backstage tour and rode Soarin at 6:00 with the passes. 10 minute wait.
(Also from another post about Disney CM quotes, here was our most non-disney moment) - The CM sorting people into Soarin said this (she was an older woman with a raspy voice:
CM: How many?
US: 2
CM: Sh*t, that messes up my count. Line 2 (or whatever line it was)
US: (to ourshelves - did she just say that?)
We came back on Sunday, Dec 18th. At 11:45 am, the wait for Soarin was 120 minutes and fast passes were gone for the day
Average wait: 5 minutes
No wait rides (other than watching the videos in the queing rooms on some rides):
Splash Mountain. Walked right on several times.
Pirates of the Carribean
Mission Space
Stitch's Great Escape
Test Track (rode it again without even getting out of car. No one waiting in line)
Dinosaur
Overall crowd level impression: Very light from Sunday to Thursday. We went to Islands of Adventure on Friday (very light lines: 5 - 10 minute waits for Hulk, Spiderman, Dueling dragons, etc..) and Universal Studios on Saturday. Crowds a bit heavier, but not that bad. 10 minute waits. Men In Black was a 25 minute wait, but I went in the single rider line (wife did not want to ride it) and walked all the way to the front and directly into a car without stopping
On Sunday, we noticed a big increase in crowds and really didn't go on any rides anymore. People were pouring into the hotels and parks when we left Monday the 19th.
