Cape May breakfast - very good buffet. Scrambled eggs, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, dougnuts, breakfast potatoes, pastries, oatmeal, cream of wheat (I think), all kinds of fruit, pancakes, Mickey-shaped waffles, coffee, any kind of juice you wanted. We used the Connections breakfast vouchers - no problems. They just had us sign the vouchers and that was it - tax and tip and drinks all included.
We didn't make it to the Cape May Clam Bake. Wish we had.
Rainforest Cafe at AK - the atmosphere here was wonderful. The food was so-so, but we didn't care. We used three Kingdom Lunch vouchers for the five of us (me, DH, DD 17, DD 14, DS 13) and had plenty of food. We ordered the Awesome Appetizer Adventure and shrimp cocktail as three appetizers (awesome appetizer counts as two). For entrees we ordered the Maine Stuffed Lobster, Nile Shrimp Enbrouchette and Maya's Mixed Grill. Our waitress said we could get ANY drinks with the voucher as long as they did not contain alcohol, so the kids all got smoothies and DH and I added Cokes on for us. For dessert, we had Gorillas in the Mist and Sparkling Volcano (this counted as two desserts). We could not eat everything and left there stuffed. The voucher covered everything but two Cokes ($5.20).
Beaches and Cream - DH and DS had the prime rib sub. They said it was good. DDs both had chicken sandwiches. I had the beef hot dog. We all had onion rings. When it was time for dessert I was stuffed, so I passed on dessert and went back to the room because I had some work to do. Glad I did because I would have been thoroughly embarrassed to be sitting there when DS and on DD EACH ordered a Kitchen Sink (if I had been there I would not have ALLOWED them to do that - seems wasteful to me - but DH thought it was okay and let them do it). Other DD and DH each ordered a Fudge Mud Slide. The voucher covered all of it.
Dinner at Boma - This was delicious and our whole family loved it. There was really nothing that I tried that I didn't like. Our server was Ali and the kids loved him.
Breakfast at Boma - This was okay, but not as good as dinner. But by this time I had already had breakfast buffets several days in a row so I think I was kind of tired of buffets. I think it will be a long time before I get the urge to eat at a buffet again. Not because it wasn't good, just TOO MUCH FOOD.
Dinner at San Angel Inn - DH and DS shared Queso Fundido for the appetizer and me and DDs all had Sopa Azteca, the tortilla soup. It wasn't creamy like the tortilla soup we are used to, but still good. But The Queso Fundido was wonderful! I wish I had gotten that instead. For entrees, DH and DS both got Filete Motuleno - grilled beef tenderloin, beans and rice and fried plantain. They liked it a lot. DD#2 got mole pablano - chicken mole. She liked the chicken part but thought the rest was too spicy - but she is really sensitive to spicy foods. I tried it and it didn't seem too spicy to me. DD#1 got the combination plate with Beef Tenderloin Tampiquena, chicken enchilada, and ground beef burrito. I tried some and the beef burrito was especially good; so was the chicken enchilada. I got Camerones Com Fideos - which was angel hair pasta with shrimp around the edges. The shrimp was good, but the pasta I did not care for. It tasted to me like SPAGHETTIOS - I am serious! It was very bland and tasted like the cheese and tomato sauce they use for spaghettios and Franco American spaghetti. DD#2, the one with the sensitive mouth, liked this so she ate the pasta and I ate the shrimp. I ate some of her meal and some of DD#1s. So we all had plenty, just not necessarily what we ordered! For dessert we were only offered flan or ice cream with chocolate sauce (this was with the Candlelight Processional package). We all got the ice cream.
Okay - then we used Quick and Casual vouchers at several places in the parks. We never had any trouble at all using them; everyone knew what they were and what we could order with them. Some places we broke even, some places we got a great deal (like Beaches and Cream), some places we probably lost money, but we liked the convenience of having meals already paid. Oh, some people mention that they use the Quick and Casual vouchers and share meals and have plenty. That's what I planned to do, but we ended up using a voucher for each person. We didn't always eat ALL of it, but did manage to eat most of it.
Here's where we used them besides Beaches and Cream:
Electric Umbrella - two kids had chicken sandwich and fries, one had cheese pizza and fries (I guess that was the side), cokes and chocolate cream pie with Oreo crust. They said it was good.
Yorkshire County Fish Shop (Harry Ramsden) - I was a little disappointed with this. I didn't think the fish was that good. I've had much better fish at Captain D's and Long John Silver's. I was also hoping the chips were really chips, but they were just fries. For dessert we got a shortbread cookie.
Cantina de San Angel - We got two combination plates, one chicken taco salad, chicken tacos and nachos. The food was okay, not great. DD said Taco Bell is better, and I tend to agree. Maybe we just prefer tex-mex. The churros for dessert were the best part.
ABC Commissary - DS and I got fish and chips, thinking maybe they would be better than the ones at Yorkshire. They were the same. DD got the vegetable noodle stir-fry. It was okay, but not much flavor. The slaw was good though. Other DD got a cheeseburger. I didn't taste it but it all got eaten, so I'm guessing it was okay. They had a "Cuban sandwich" and that's what DH got. I think it had ham, turkey and roast beef and swish cheese on it. He said it was okay. It came with dried banana chips. For dessert we got three chocolate cream pies and two Hagen Daas ice cream bars. It was the same pie as at Electric Umbrella, with the oreo crust. I wish I had gotten the Hagen Daas instead.
Really wish we had gone to Pepper Court. We had planned to, but ran out of time!
Left DW 20 hours ago, got home13 hours ago, and so far I have had no desire to eat anything, after five days of stuffing myself!
