Just back from OKW and all the parks for a week through 6/26. As always, we had a great time. If you have any question just ask.

oshun, what were the crowds like in comparison to other years?

What type of accommodations did you have at OKW? We've stayed in the one bedroom but have a studio this time.

How was the bus service to the parks?
Did you take the boat to Downtown Disney? Was it crowded and/or did you have to wait long?

Thanks in advance for your comments and observations! Hope you had a great trip.

PaulaJ- The crowds seem to be the same as other years that we went in June. It did rain last weekend so the crowds were minimal with e rides about a 15 minute wait but on Tuesday and Wed. of last week there were 70 minutes waits and great weather. I also found out by a cast member that Tuesday in Magic Kingdom is the busiest day of the week. Even busier then on Saturday. It sure did seem that way this week.:o Hope your next trip is magical!
ZerasPride- We had a two bedroom on the third floor of building 28. We were on the golf course and there were a lot of trees so it did block the view but kept the porch shaded and cool. It was a real nice and quiet unit.
The bus service seemed to run every 15 to 20 minutes. We did take the boat to Downtown Disney two nights. One pet peeve I have is when people wait for the boat (2 or 4) then as the boat pulls up their whole party comes out of the arcade and store and then the boat is full (13 is the capacity). We waited through two boats and I got really angry that they saw there were 5 of us and never said anything. We could have grabbed a bus to Downtown much quicker then waiting for the boat again. Luckily the boat driver let us go at 14 because I was pretty upset and he was very kind. Hope your trip is magical!

oshun, I'd always heard Tues. was one of the best, if not THE best day for MK! Oops, there goes my plan again...you know, it's like dominos...one piece moves and that's the whole deal! Anyone else find Tues. bad at MK?

Welcome back. I just love OKW, wish I was a DVC member :)

I've always heard that Tuesdays were one of the best, if not THE best day to visit MK

Anyone else care to comment on this - I really need to know - going in 10 days time and guess which days MK is scheduled? Yep Tuesdays.

Same here... I have Tuesday planned cause it is the only day without an early entry or Spectro. I thought it woudl be slower. I also was planning on early Sunday morning with early entry then leaving after the parade...

There was a 70 minute wait for Peter Pan's Flight, Splash Mountain, 60 min for Space Mountain on Tuesday and it did seem to be extremely crowded. I asked a CM at Alien Merchant (had to get my daughter the pj "All About Me") and she said that Tuesday is there most crowded day. I asked her if it was even worse on Tuesdays then Saturday and she said "People check in on Saturday or Sunday and do different parks the first few days then onto MK on Tuesday." I definitely took her word for it on 6/24.

I observed the same as oshun regarding crowds in MK on TUESDAY, 24-JUN.

As a comparison, we visited the MK on FRIDAY, 20-JUN, and the waiting times were practically non-existent from 4:30pm to 7pm. The park closing time was 7pm; E-ride was from 7 to 10 and it was rainy off and on most of the day.

Hey Oshun we were almost neighbors. We were in building 12 from the 22-27th. Beautiful weather! I didn't think the parks were very crowded (we usually go in July and its much worse!). Did you notice the golfers were all young girls?? I meant to ask if they were having a tournament but forgot. We had a long conversation with the CM at Olivias, which I thought was wonderful. He spoke about the bad rap that Olivias has gotten on the message boards. Very nice guy(sat with us for about an hour) All and all a great trip.

the reason it was probably so crowded was the rain the entire weekend before. people wanted to get out & about after maybe missing a few park days earlier.

First, thanks to the original poster for giving me your observations about your villa and transportation. I'd like to take the boat to Downtown Disney but not if it's going to be a hassle. Thanks again for the heads up.

We've got MK scheduled for a Monday and a Wednesday so hearing that Tuesday is so crowded, I'm glad we've got this schedule. There is an e-right night that Tuesday but I haven't decided if I want to pay extra for it - we didn't have a great experience the one and only time we tried an e-right night seveal years ago. That Monday the MK is open until 10:00 and that's late enough for me.

As far as Olivia's is concerned, we loved the two meals we had there this past November and I have a ps for Olivia's for our trip in August. The food isn't gourmet but we liked it. We also enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant and the friendliness of the wait staff. It's too bad Olivia's is getting a bad rap but that means more ps times for those of us to like to eat there!

We were among the crowd on 6/24 as well. We did AK that morning, took a break then arrived at MK at 6pm for E night. I figured it would be crowded and only planned on getting on some of the faster loading rides, shopping, seeing Spectro then doing Enight. It was a zoo there! We didn't get to ride anything until Enight started. We grabbed dinner and a good spot for Spectro at Pecos Bill's. What I really couldn't understand was that the shops were closed at 7pm when we tried to shop in the Christmas store, etc in that area. The park didn't closed until 10pm that night for goodness sake. I just don't get why Disney would close shops in a crowded park three hours before park closing.

Olivia's is my favorite restaurant to dine at. We had a wonderful meal there last week. I can't understand how Olivia's could get a bad rap. Even the service was excellent. Will mention this on the dining page.
