How did you like it? Was transportation good? I just got back from CBR and loved that resort. On my next trip I plan on checking out some of the other resorts. WL is first on my list. I think I would like the theming. It is suppose to be similiar to AKL, which I have stayed at. Minus the animals tho.

How are the grounds? Are there paths to walk? Is there a food court and is it good?

Hi, I will be at WL in 20 days. How was the transportation? Where was your room location? How was the pool? How long was the pool and poolbar open??? Any other info would be great. I have never been there so any info is good...thanks ,,corvair

Cassie,

We loved it. Actually we stayed there last year, for our first family trip to Disney. Transportation was good. The only problem we had was the morning that we wanted to go to MK. Last year, due to early entry, we were the only ones in line and the bus took us directly to MK. This year we should have taken the boat. But we did not and took the bus to the Ticket Trans- and then the monorail to MK. (That is the only way to get to MK from WL, except for the boat.) Our problem was that the monorail did not open until 9:00 and everyone was there trying to get to MK. It was terrible. The grounds are lovely. There is a jogging path next to the boat rental area on the beach. The path will take you over to Fort Wilderness. This path is dirt. There is also a paved path that takes you to FW as well. The food court is nice. Look on wdwig.com website and you will find a menu.

Corvair,

Last year we had a standard view room on the fourth floor. It overlooked the service entry and the smoker that cooks the turkey legs. We could also see the otter pond. The pool is nice. You have the main pool that has the sliding board built into the rocks at WL. Then there is another pool between WL and the Villas that at times seems quieter. Also, near the main pool is two hot tubs and a kiddie pool.

pam2girls,

Yes the pool is wonderful for children of all ages.

I hope I have answered all of your questions. If not please write back.

Cassie,
Could you elaborate on the WL transportation to other parks? Were buses crowded? Did you pick up Fort Wilderness guests and tour their grounds? Or was WL the last pick-up on the way to the parks?

We like to get a relatively early start, around 8 or so. We never used EE so that is not an issue. I found our longest waits back in '99 at the Millenium Celebration, were at the boat to MK. I could not seem to predict the timetable.

My kids love riding buses. We live in a small town. No transit system here!

I'm so glad you enjoyed your visit. We are planning for the week of Thanksgiving.

Thanks for posting,
penny

I'll be watching for a trip report!

Penny,

The other transportation was great. Actually, the bus to the TT was the only one that we had to wait on. For some reason, which the CM's could not fiqure out, the bus that should have come back did not. But we got there. From WL you have direct bus service to all other parks. Most mornings the bus was there when we got to the post, if not we did not have to wait longer than 5 minutes. Last year the route was us (WL), Grand Floridian, and The Polynesian. This year is was just us and FW only. The buses were not crowded. We never had to stand up and one time we were the only ones on there. Note that we did not stay to see any of the nightly shows(except for Tapestry of Nations, so while we were on our way back, the others stayed for Illuminations). We have a 21 month old and by 8:00 he is ready for bed. Yes we did tour FW grounds. We ate at Trail's End on Thursday evening. It is very nice over there. We have thought of looking into staying in one of the cabins next time. My father got into a conversation with a lady on the bus onw day and she said that that is where they were staying and loved it. It was very quiet and they are all to themselves.

Hope this helps.
