Hi, All! We just returned last night from 9 nights at AKL. Did all 4 main parks, no water parks. I'm working on a full trip report, but if anyone has any questions in the meantime I will be happy to answer! :)

Glad you enjoyed yourself. I am going to AK on Saturday, and would LOVE to hear your fastpass strategy for that park from rope drop on. I keep hearing that its either a) go to safaris to get fastpass, ride everest.. or b) go to everest, get fastpass to go to safaris..

I'm thinking more of the lines of.. go to EE, get a fastpass, ride EE, head to the Safaris and ride it, do the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail, go to Its Tough to be a Bug and get a fastpass for it, go to Dinoland and check out Dino-Sue, ride Dinosaur, ride Primevial Whirl, use our EE fastpasses, head to Its tough to be a bug and use our fastpasses for that and then go to the Rain Forest Cafe.

Any faults in that ? We're in-state residents who will be traveling by car and doing a park hopper, so we'd like to be out of there by 1 ish to tackle Magic Kingdom...

How was the crowds? We leave in two days and I have never been in August before. Thanks.

The crowds were NOT as bad as I thought they might be. The UG estimated crowds at "9" for almost our entire stay, but it looked more like "7" to me. The stand-by time for Splash was 70 minutes midday on the days we were there, stand-by for BTMRR was about 50 but we Fast Passed and did great. Space Mountain stand-by was about 70-80 minutes but it kept breaking so that didn't help.

Our AK experience was more what NOT to do! :rotfl: It was so hot and humid we were ready to kill each other before the park even opened! We did Donald's breakfast at 8 AM and were at the rope in Dinoland by 8:50. The CMs walked the rope over to EE BUT then they stopped so the hordes from the front gate could "catch up". EXCUSE ME? That's why we had an 8 AM ADR inside the park! So the crowds from the front WOULDN'T "catch up"!! Anyway, I don't do big roller coasters at 9 AM - that's just me. When we got to EE it was pandemonium. One member of our party went on the ride, I went to Fast Pass, and the other 3 got caught in the crunch because they didn't know if they should follow me to Fast Pass or follow Uncle to get on the ride. Uncle ended up being one of the first ones on the ride and the rest of us got Fast Passes for 10 AM. At around noon the stand by for the Safari was only 20 minutes, so I think the opening of EE is drastically cutting lines at everything else. We accomplished next to nothing that day, but DS rode EE 3 times (all on Fast Pass) so that was good. The stand-by times for EE were never clearly visible when I looked for them, but I think it was runnning 60-90 minutes.

welcome back!
hope your trip was wonderful, couple more weeks for us!
