Just back and I don't think Spectro is worth it.

Does that mean we'll have large crowds that day? I'm asking because for our trip next week I'm taking my Mom who hasn't been to Disney in over 20 years and of course the one and only thing she has requested is to see the "light up parade"! So I planned to do MK on a Tues-is this a mistake? I don't mind waiting for the parade a little but I'm worried that the MK is going to be a madhouse during the early part of the day.

We saw Spectromagic last March on a Saturday and the park was packed. We had planned to go on Thursday, but it was cancelled. I knew going to the MK on a Saturday was not the wisest thing but wanted to see Spectromagic. We had taken the monorail to 'Ohana and got back to the park and hour before Spectromagic. It was already so crowded we could barely squeeze by to any of the lands. None of us wants to wait around for a parade so we ended up watching it in front of the castle. It was a nice parade, but it would not be a great loss to me if I didn't see it again.

We also stayed for the fireworks, which was a big mistake. After the fireworks were over, we waited a half-hour before we even tried to leave the park and it was still wall to wall people. From the time the fireworks ended until the time we were back in our room, two hours had passed.

The fireworks were nice but I would rather not be part of the cattle drive to get out of the park again.

Unfortunately Snow White thats exactly what I am saying. If the MK seems extra crowded during the day it won't get better with Spectro playing at night. IMHO I would consider "how bad" I need to see it that night . If your are planning on it then watch it in Frontierland. Remeber that i s where it ends so it won't be coming by until 20-30 min after starting.

Good Luck!

I love the show, hate the crowds. It is a madhouse. People pushing my kids out of the way after we have watied an hour sitting down. UGH! As much as we love the parades, we really have to think about seeing them again when we go back

Thats how I felt. We loved them last January but this year the crowd and behavior took the magic out of it for me.

Sit in front of city hall. Unless things have changed a lot, it never gets very crowded there and it's easy to leave once it's over.

I was at MK Tuesday and I agree it was a complete ZOO. Never again during a holiday period, Monday at MGM was almost as bad. Tuesday afternoon when we arrived at MK I took my dd to the barber shop to have her hair cut and just happened to see the earlier parade coming by with no one in that area (rest of the street was packed) so when Spectro was getting ready, we were on our way out and went back to the barber shop and had a great view. I thought it was a great parade.

The whole parks part of the trip, with the exception of Epcot on Thursday was a bit disappointing because of the crowds. I just wasn't expecting it to be that bad. But, my own fault and learned a valuble lesson!!
