Hi: Had the best time ever, because we allowed ourselves time to relax at the resort or go shopping. Bought the ten one day park pass and either went in ithe a.m. for four/five hours or around four to five hours in the evening. Decided to take it easy this time and it worked out well.

The weather was great, two cool days but it was okay in the parks with less crowds. Enjoyed port orleans alligator bayou, first time there, grounds beautiful, maid service was good. I asked for the mansions though.

Also enjoyed the poly again and loved the new furnishings, they make family living easier. Hubby loved the two chairs and ottoman beside the sliding door, the lcd tv, with desk area and nice table that pulled out for dining. We were in tokealu, with patio. Loved the size of the poly rooms.

Were on the dining plan for part of the stay, and best meals were the crystal palace lunch, and Tusker House breakfast, and fun, but a little noisey as they have some sort of march around with moroccas with the kids, but it was fun. Lots of charachter pics, We loved the rose and crown, sat outside on the patio, I had fish and chips and hubby loved his steak and fish, Went to Ohanas and felt like they were trying to rush us out to allow more people in, but the food was good. We did not feel that way last trip at Ohanas.

We loved the riverside mill counter service meals, the turkey dinner, pasta, and salad that they make for you was great.

Did not get picked for any of the million dreams.

Welcome back!!!

Glad you liked POR, as that is where we are thinking of staying next time. I have been looking for some comments on this resort.

As for Ohana, we had the same problem last time we where there. The place was not full by any means and the host was not only rushing our waiter but rushing us out the door. I love Ohana but this left a bad taste, especially since it was my 9yr old daughter's birthday.

We love the Rose N Crown. Always get 7:30pm ressies so we can stay and watch the illuminations.

Welcome home.

We found we didn't like the menu changes at O'Hanas so we skipped it last trip.

Sounds like you had a good time.

I don't go again until October and I am already looking forward to Rose and crowns fish and chips.:lovestruc

Hi: Thanks, We also LOVED sticky toffee pudding at Rose and Crown.

When staying at the Polynesion our fav resort we had trouble at Captain Cooks with their new ordering system. Our daughter has severe migraines connected to food that she eats and we found it hard to speak to someone in there to see what is in the different orders, yes you can look on the machine.
An example she ordered a turkey sandwich thinking that it is the non processed turkey, had to send it back as it was like a cold meat type of turkey, she would have triggered a migraine from that.

We needed to be able to ask someone about the food choices but you have to use a machine and you can delete things but for her it made it impossible to eat there with her allergies. We ended up driving to riverside to find things that she could eat. Not happy at all with the ordering system at captain cooks.
We also took a very long time at the machine trying to delete things from her order that it was ridiculous because of her food allergies. We felt we were holding up the lines for others. All we wanted was to speak to someone there to find out if the meat was processed or not. I may write a letter to guest services about the system. It sure has changed since our last visit to the poly. We still love the poly but it is easier for her to find things to eat at the riverside mill.

welcome home - just in time for the snow storm LOL bet you're wishing you staied a few days longer now aren't ya hehe

we're starting our planning for next year - can't wait.

are you going to post some pics?

Hi: I am not sure about posting pics as I have to get someone else to do it for me.

We stayed 5 nights at the alligator bayou riverside building 36 then onto 5 nights at the poly. I would have loved to stay longer due to driving home with a storm chasing us, but dh had to get back to work.

The alligator bayou was very peaceful and beautiful, the rooms were rustic. I did forget about the smallness of the washroom at riverside compared to the poly, but they are both different set ups. The bayou has that nice curtain and area for getting ready while someone can be showering,

The poly everything is in one room but nice and large. You just have to figure out some sort of schedule. Loved the huge sliding doors at the poly looking at the grounds it was so beautiful. Had ducks visit us each morning. When we left the poly at 5:20a.m. to start for home there were so many bunnies running around into the gardens. What a nice send off.

Also we loved all the different bird species we saw all over florida, grey cranes about 5 feet tall on the side of the road, also the white small and tall birds.

Loved our trip and I have to figure out how to cut back here to save some money for another trip in a couple of years.

Deb.
