We did the 4 day Wonder and it was great. Plenty of food and drink - get the ESPN mugs!! Weather was beautiful (although it was hotter in Boston some days). Pools were great, but crowded. Dinners were excellent and the shows were great. We felt Nassau was kind of seedy and didn't spend much time there. If anyone has any questions, feel free.

What is an ESPN mug? Did you do any excursions while in Nassau? We are thinking of Blue Lagoon and possibly Stingray City.

Happy to hear you had a great cruise!

Kelli

Leaving in 86 days!!

The ESPN mug is a 22 oz mug for $10 that can be refilled for the same price as a regular beer. So, instead of 12 oz of beer, you get 22 - such a deal. The mug is a cool souvenir for sports-minded people.
We didn't do any excursions in Nassau because we were going to Castaway Cay the next day which is a beach day, so we didn't want to overdo the beach and sun. My kids are too young to do the other excursions like snorkeling, etc.
We took a carriage ride around Nassau ($20) and went to the straw market to buy souvenirs. We walked around a couple of blocks by the boat, stopped at a bar and had a beer and then back to the boat for lunch. If I didn't have kids with me, I would have taken a cab to Atlantis to gamble a little. Atlantis looks pretty impressive.

Was the carriage ride just a scenic ride around town or did the driver kind of narrate? How long is the ride? How large was your group? Would it be $20 for 2 kids and 2 adults?

Sonya,

It was $10 per person, but he gave us a deal and the kids rode for free. Bargains galore, mon. The driver gave us a lot of "local flavor" with his commentary, mon. The ride lasted about 20 minutes maybe a little more. I gave him $23 for the ride because he was funny and interesting. I don't want to be known as the "ugly American".

The shows were Hercules (which I missed because I was sick, but the kids loved it), a comedian who is a writer for Everybody loves Raymond, Who wants to be a mouseketeer and Disney Dreams. All were about 30-40 minutes long and good for the whole family.

We are thinking of doing the 4 nt cruise with our 5 children (they will be between the ages of 4 1/2 and 14 1/2 by the time we go). Is the 4 nt long enough, or do you wish you had gone for 7? Thanks!

I have done only 3 nights twice before. My kids (9, 13, 16 at the last cruise) had a lot of fun. We are going on the 4 day next minth but I wish it was 7 days. We really enjoyed ourselves and there is plenty for all ages.:Pinkbounc

Did you go to Freeport? Or did you have a day at sea? Going on a 4 day in July, trying to cover all the bases..............

5 children  We think the 4 day is just the right time for a cruise - after 7 days they will need a crane to disembark me. Our cruise had the day at sea which was nice to hang around the ship. The pools were very crowded on that day. Someone I work with did the Freeport stop the week before and she was not impressed with Freeport.

I was on the same trip. I agree with all the above!!! We did go to Atlantis for several hours (visited the casino). While I am negotiating with a van driver on a per person charge my BIL hooks up with a limo - he charged $40 for the trip to Atlantis for 4, a 15-20 minute trip. BIL arranged for a return trip with him - also $40. The comfort was more important to BIL than the cost as he is handicapped. And he did win more than enough playing blackjack to cover the limo. Also witnessed a big jackpot. A gentleman won $6000 after playing the same $1 slot for only 10 minutes.
