Landed this morning
but had a wonderful 11-night trip, staying 8 nights at OKW and 3 nights at BLT, both in a 1 bed villa.
-BLT was amazing, I absolutely loved this resort and especially when we entered the room and guess what we saw out of the window of our (standard view) villa? Cinderella Castle and Space Mountain to the left!!!!!!!
We stayed on points for this portion of the trip, but got some MAJOR pixie dust with this. So wonderful watching the fireworks from our balcony.
-Pandora was so wonderful and we all agreed Flight of Passage is our favourite ride at AK now. We managed to score a fastpass for this and had a LONG wait- it was operating at reduced capacity. However, a CM walked through the line and gave us another FP to use for river journey so we actually got to ride that twice- came back the second time after Rivers Of Light so also got to see Pandora at night- WOW!!
-Happily Ever After, enough said. Got to see this 3 times, once from in front of the castle, once from New Fantasyland and once from our balcony. Welled up a bit at Tiana singing the evening star song.
-I loved new Soarin'!! I loved the new scents and how you came back into Epcot in the final scene.
-Food and Wine Festival was so much fun! My favourites were the steak from Canada which was soo good and perfectly cooked (although just as we took a seat to eat this, a rain storm came!) and the banana and almond sundae which was really refreshing and so nice in the heat.
-CMs couldn't be more accommodating with my food intolerence, although I did have to clarify it was just a lactose intolerence not an actual allergy so they didn't have to worry too much about cross contamination. Olivia's at OKW was the best meal of our trip just for how wonderful our server and the chef was in working with me, and I LOVED the Cayo Hueso shrimp pasta which had tons of shrimp and was so flavourful and delicious.
-Our first Halloween Party was so much fun and we got a ton of sweets. I went as Goofy, however as we reached the dis meet being organised for our party night, one of the ears broke off my hat!! I was so disappointed. Still, the meet was fun and we rode Haunted Mansion and Pirates and got a magic shot with the hearse outside Haunted Mansion together and it was great to put faces to names. (shout out to the MNSSHP thread! It was wonderful to see you guys)
We got a good spot at the side of the castle near Sleepy Hollow for the parade, and as soon as it reached us I just knew that I'd randomly be singing boo to you and you and you for the next week. I loved the parade though. We then moved over and got a good spot in front of the castle for the fireworks, and WOW! They were amazing.
-On a lesser note, the wifi/MDE was very patchy this trip which was a bit of a pain for accessing FP times. I do like how if you have location turned on for your phone you can even see where you are in your resort.
-The heat and humidity was pretty bad, temperatures going into the 90s were common and we went through a LOT of sunscreen and I still managed to burn on my face at AK. Ooops!! I think my most uttered phrase this trip was "Aaaah! Air conditioning!" with my arms held out. The heat didn't half flare up our tempers though!! We were stupid and went to the parks at midday, which resulted in a lot of snapping at each other and a bit of stomping off. Ahem. We probably were THAT family at one point, so if you saw us, I apologise. We're from the UK and aren't used to the insane heat of Florida in September.
-Because a lot of people find this concerning: I'd like to state that the restrooms were fine this trip. (and having to drink so much water, I spent a lot of my time in these!!) I noticed that the restrooms by Soarin' have recently been redone and are much nicer, although the stall next to me had a bit of a leak or something from the toilet (don't worry, clean water from the bowl!!) which was a bit gross.
We had a wonderful time and can't wait to return next year. Only 352+ days to go!!
