We had mostly DELICIOUS meals and great service with only a few disappointments mostly due to menu changes.
PIZZA PLANET:
Meatball sandwich was not as good as I remembered but still filling with plenty of melted mozzarella on top. The cappucino cupcake is still delicious and they had added a vanilla type cupcake and Halloween ones.
CAPTAIN'S GRILLE at the Yacht Club:
We had a very pleasant and relaxing meal here. DH had the ribeye. However, they have removed the bacon cheddar mashed potatoes for a mixed squash and tiny potato side. He asked for a baked potato and got it, no problem. The ribeye was good enough but not great. And they have removed the cherry-berry cobbler. The banana cheesecake was tiny and not so good to us. The crab legs were two large clusters and good but seasoned differently than Cape May's. They were accompanied by 4 small, boiled, red potatoes (plain but tasty) and a tiny piece of corn. The corn was tough, like field corn-not at all like tender sweet corn. I only ate one bite. Didn't need it anyway beacuse I ate ALL the crab and two little potatoes. We didn't care for the darker, heavy bread, either. Our waiter was very good. I would go there for the quiet, but would go to Cape May for corn and crab legs.
FLAME TREE BBQ:
Turkey Sandwich-Good but with too much turkey and not enough cranberry mayo for me. Onion rings-very large serving and tasty for a snack credit.
SPIRIT OF ALOHA LUAU:
We enjoyed this because we had the 5:15 seating and a good table near the stage but not too near. The food was about the same as 15 years ago. The salad, bread, pineapple, mandarin oranges were good. The bread was on the table and cold so we asked for more pretty soon and the second loaf was hot and much better. The chicken is plain roasted chicken and pretty good, but the ribs are tender but much more charred and spicier. We barely touched the rice and broccoli. The dessert is mousse made with raw eggs (like many mousses) so I declined. The waitress offered me a small fresh fruit plate. The second half of the show was very entertaining. I'm glad we went.
We used the dining plan (2 credits each). I wouldn't want to pay full price for it.
THE PLAZA:
Tuna Croissant: We split this, a tomato soup, and a banana split. Plenty for us.
The tuna was mostly light, chunk not white which we prefer, but we ate it all anyway. The soup and banana split was delicious! The server was nice, and I'll go there again.
AFTERNOON TEA AT THE GRAND FLORIDIAN:
I loved it this time. I only got a serving of 2 scones strawberry preserves and lemon curd, Devonshire cream and a pot of Grand Floridian Blend tea. This was at 3:30 so a perfect amount for me in place of my usual coffee and cookie. The lemon curd was added by the server when I told her I'd never tried it. It was delicious, a little like lemon icing with a bright fresh flavor.
FULTON'S CRAB HOUSE:
I know, I know. You all told me not to go there. I should have listened. We got soup and half sandwich and fried seafood platter. The sandwich (oyster poboy) had 5 tiny oysters. The chowder was okay. The platter was one piece of cod and three shrimp plus fries that tasted old and refried. No bread at all. The cod and shrimp did taste fresh and good, but I certainly don't think the meal was worth using 2 credits each (which we didn't-just paid out of pocket).
FOOD AND WINE FESTIVAL:
Canada: Mushroom filet, warm beef was very good, good amount of mushrooms (nearly cold) worth snack credit to me!
Hawaii: Pork slider was tasty but would have liked bun to be warmer. Worth a snack credit.
LINDA BEAN- LOBSTER ROLL: Very tasty and DEFINITELY worth a snack credit, but the cashiers and servers were completely unfriendly and rude. The roll was buttered and toasted with some mayo and a good amount of lobster. I don't know if I would have paid $7.50 for it. Wow, this my first long review and it's hard work. I'll take a break and post more later. Thanks for reading!

Great reviews:thumbsup2 Thank you for taking the time to post them. I've wondered about the tuna at the Plaza and it's nice to see it described so well . Have you had the tuna at CHH and it so which one do you prefer?

Thanks,
Terri

Thanks for the reviews. DF is there now and just sent me a pic of her tuna sandwich and tomato soup from the Plaza. So good! We like Capt Grille too. Miss the chocolate creme pie. It has been gone for quite a while but every time someone mentions CG. This is my first thought! ;) Looking forward to F&W. Be there in a week! :dance3:

thanks for your reviews..
We love the Luau and have gone many times...I was impressed the last time that they asked the kids if they wanted mac and cheese and a hot dog besides trying the main dinner...The kids of course said yes and loved besides the chicken and the ribs...they also ate the brocolli and the rice ...

Linda Bean is from Maine and her lobster rolls are so huge .(regular ones)..they also cost quite a bit...but worth the price ...outstanding foods at the festival I am sure ..

thanks so much for your reviews...I enjoyed reading them

No, sorry I haven't had the tuna at CHH so can't compare to the Plaza. We always get the fried shrimp and broccoli or fries platter.

You are very welcome. I have been helped so much by reading others' reviews! Yes, there were many tasty and interesting foods to tryat the Food and Wine Festival. If we go next October, I won't make any table service reservations on Epcot days, so I'll be able to try a lot more items.

I know you're having a great time in WDW about now. Have fun!

TONY'S TOWN SQUARE RESTAURANT
This is right at the start of Main Street in Magic Kingdom. We had reservations for 12pm but couldn't check in at 11:40 but were allowed to at 11:45. Go figure. We sat in the rocking chairs on the porch and waited. I was very pleasantly surprised by everything from the Dapper Dan seranade at opening to the food to the service. We split zucchini fries, cannelloni, and pistachio creme brulee. It was all lovely! We knew we had to eat at Hoop dee Doo at four so we really had quite enough by splitting 3 courses. We didn't ask to sit on the porch and preferred the cool, refined interior away from the crowds. It was a totally relaxing meal.
HOOP DEE DOO
This was a fun time for us (after the long check-in process). They make you stand outside in a line until every single group gets their picture made. Thankfully we had shade but many people didn't. We were getting disgruntled along with other people but they finally started the seating. We had a perfect table mid center. #53. Our anniversary had been noted when we made our reservations. Well, they made a big deal of it (45 years is a pretty big deal I guess) The lead girl singer came out and sat in DH's lap for a few seconds, kidded him, and had him tell the secret of such a long marriage. He was speechless at first, then said "Just do what she says." and everybody laughed.
The chicken breasts, salad, corn, and corn bread were our favorites. We thought the
beans were not so good, and the strawberry shortcake was heavier than I've ever had.
We couldn't eat all they brought the first time and didn't ask for any seconds. Our server was nice and kept checking all the time to see if we needed anything.
LECELLIER was our last day lunch and we were well pleased. We got the same as last time. Mushroom filet & rissoto for me and strip steak & mashed potatoes for DH. Niagra Refresher (mango/raspberry smoothie to drink). The steaks were a perfect medium. I didn't really like the rissoto as much as last time but it was still good. The maple creme brulee was very good, but the new layered pecan pie dessert was not what you expect for pecan pie. DH said he wouldn't order it again.
I don't get to the computer every day, but if anyone has any questions, I'll try to answer pretty soon. Thanks for reading!

Nice reviews....funny thing is we live in Maine and have been to Linda Bean's actual restaurant and had the WORST service we have ever had anywhere! Never going back....
