Just a Dream Away- The Imagineering Thread*Are you curious, imaginative, dedicated?

Looks to me like they're building it around the area where the Skyway building was? Replacing a waterfall with a fountain. How interesting. Must say it's a bit disappointing since I was hoping the demolishion of the building meant an extension of the queue. Wonder what they're gonna do with the queue. Can't see anything they're doing from the TTA (which stills needs the spiel returned).

Read a small bit about Space Mountain here and realised I have never noticed the theme of the ride! I knew it was about going into space, but I never noticed those 3D picture things of asteroids, planets, stars, etc. in the queue were actually supposed to be windows, or the red lights at the end were supposed to be your rocket's reentry into the atmosphere.

All I really know about Space Mountain is that the mountain itself is supposed to be a space port, but I never understood why you returned to the same space port.

Aren't you in a different space port in MK? You don't exit from the same port as you entered.

Hmm good point, but at the MK you just kinda enter an empty room. It was rather anticlimactic.

But you do pass by the dioramas that suggest you've landed on a distant planet, true.

Yeah, they said it was anti-climatic on that website I posted.

It makes me laugh going on Mission:Space when you're told you're going to Mars, and it'll be a 3 month trip. Also that you land on Mars, but you're still in the same room, and never actually enter a room similar to being on Mars. I know it's a simulation (and even told that in the pre-show) but it's still funny.

I guess any ride that takes you somewhere, but drops you back in the same room, or doesn't have a themed post-show similar to where you went, can be similar. There was one I was thinking should have a really themed post-show to suggest you were in this place, and going through something similar to the old hydrolators from the Living Seas to get back to Florida. Though there would be no gift shop until at least after this lift-type thing, otherwise it would cause some troubles with large amount of guests wanting to leave, but having to wait for lift to open.

So, Tiana's Showboat Jubilee premiered yesterday.

Disney's officially announcing Epic Mickey tomorrow in London (wish I could go! I'm on Half Term, but I don't know where they're announcing the game -_-)

Disney Parks have released screen shots of their first mobile app called Mobile Magic.

Any other news? Not that I can think of atm.

It's been kinda a slow week...

But something interesting in my newest issue of D23- there's a picture of the now gone-from-the-company imagineer, Tom Delaney- at the expo.

Interesting.

I need to get that magazine... Too bad it's not sold in the UK.

This issue is REALLY good. Ton of Princess and the Frog stuff, including the cover...

They also have a couple of really good Grizzly RR concept art for HKDL.

Nope there's an even newer one- the winter one just came out this week.
Princess and the Frog cover.

I think we all need a good Imagineering brainstorm.

True, Halloween is now past, but if you had to add decorations, overlays, etc to a particular part or attraction of a Disney park, what would it be?

I'd love to see some oldschool jackolanterns and garlands around the HM area, or perhaps an entire Sleepy Hollow-esque overlay to Liberty Square.

imagine if disneyland park was in WDW (meaning it would have lots of space) I would add a temporary hallloweentown land around new orleans square.

Heck I want a permanent Halloweentown land in a park. I don't think it's quite suited for a kingdom, but I can't figure out where exactly it would fit.
