Just a Dream Away- The Imagineering Thread*Are you curious, imaginative, dedicated?

ooo! great idea! And how's about being chased by Shere Khan and you can here him behind you but you can't see him (I don't know why someone would turn around while tehir Jeep is going fast on a very bumpy trail...But I know I would do it xD)
It's a great alternative to replicating the Indiana Jones ride. Seeing as how people want Indy in WDW.
And what about an Asian Elephant stampede? :D I love Elphants and animals stampedeing(sp?) :3dglasses

I like the idea of a stampede!

And yeah the more I wrote it the more it sounded like Indy, haha, but I think it's different enough from Dinosaur to not be a problem in the same resort.

yes hahah
And then when they're stampedeing around you you can feel the car bouncing up and down and stuff.
Of course it would be difficult to have AAs stampede and run and stuff. Probably take advantage of our other senses besides sight in order to give the guests a feeling that there is an actual stampede.

I hated the Maliboomer scream shields. Ugh. They ruined a good view. I hope a something good replaces it.

I don't know if it's going to be replaced, seeing as Paradise Pier is supposed to have a victorian v. a modern twist, now.

Of course the giant Mickey head will probably detract from that...

We need a proper name for this ride now....
Any ideas?

well it's mostly an adventure ride, correct?
First let's give it it's basic name that will be easy for people to identify what kind of ride it is. Then you can add some fancy indian thing, or an adjective, or a geographical name.

Now, adventurous words:
Expedition
Adventure
Discovery
Exploration
Trek
Misadventure (?)

Hmm I like Exploration.
Time to find names of Rainforest and areas in south Asia.

And the queue(sp?) can take place in and around the abandoned Jeep tour place. That way we can start telling the story from the minute they walk in the queue. And then there can be a desk with something like a newspaper with the date clearly visible to give guests an idea of how long it's been abandoned.

मध्य प्रदेश की वन पर्यटन

It's Hindi for Madhya Pradesh Forest Tours (you know, for the queue building. That's where the Jungle Book is set according the Wikipedia...)

Great start... okay... hmm..

Jungle Escape: Revenge of Shere Khan

Yeah it's wordy, but so is Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Forbidden Eye

I like that.. I think the actual sign on the outside will be the fake-Hindi I posted earlier of some sort, but I could definitely see using that inside the queue and such.

What if the outside sign did something like the Tower of Terror Sign... where it says one thing but morphs into the next. (Hollywood Tower Hotel gets Twilight Zone Tower of Terror put over it).

Errr.. if that made any sense.

Wow that's great! :D

I think it's good...but I say you don't immeadetly reveal that Shere Khan wants you out. Just to leave some mystery as to what awaits inside the attraction. Know what I mean?

Yep that's what I was envisioning, too!

Yeah I gotcha..

What if we kept it simple, the sign on the outside could say Jungle Exploration or Expedition, but can either have ESCAPE painted over it or change into ESCAPE like I mentioned earlier?

Oh-kay.
So it's going to be an indoor coaster, in fact I'm going to cop out and make it similar to the Indiana Jones attraction at Disneyland in style.. a good mix of audioanimatronics and high speed but not like RnRC.

Plot: More on this later, maybe, but a group of tourists (the guests) who want to explore the jungle. After finding the touring office abandoned, they ignore warnings and decide to take their own tour through the jungle using the still functioning jeeps sitting out back. *looks outdoors, but is really indoors*

Once the guests are loaded into the jeeps, it stalls a few times before slowly starting up. The radio fizzles on, a frantic voice demands to know who's taken the jeeps and tells the guests to turn around, NOW.. but fizzles out in static before any more warnings.

The jeep enters a dense jungle, now, astute guests can notice yellow eyes gazing at them, the jungle gets darker and thicker and large growls are now heard. Being suspicious, the jeep accelerates out of there. Shere Khan leaps out of the bushes, the jeep "reacts".

Various other scenes include:
entering a clearing with Kaa and being slowed down by his hypnotic gaze before once again accelerating before being eaten.

King Louie sending primates after the jeep to try to stop the humans to get the secret of fire.

Climax:
Growls/eyes start up again, the jeep begins to stall. Shere Khan is crouched on a rock, growling, ready to pounce, but as he leaps the jeep accelerates and quickly speeds through several minutes of jungle including a rickety bridge over a river, all the while being stalked by the tiger.

Finally, the guests arrive back at touring office, safe, and understanding why it had been abandoned in the first place.

The queue is going to be an abandoned Jungle Tour jeep port.

A sign out front says "Jungle Expeditions" but has a very large CLOSED sign hanging underneath

Tin roof, "rotted" wooden walls, indoor/outdoor portions.
Obvious damage done to the inside of the offices, with posters warning of vicious tigers in the area. Also warnings about the various snakes and increasingly violent primates in the area. Walls have scratch marks on the inside, pictures are shredded.

There's a pile of matches on the floor, like somebody was trying to start a fire but failed..

There's cobwebs, broken windows, etc.

One room is jeeps in for repair, finally you end up "out back" with a row of rickety-looking jeeps waiting for load.

Uhh.. so how's that for off the top of my head? xD

Thats a reeally great idea :) the thing is though, it sounds somewhat similar to indiana jones at dsneyland :confused3 because in indiana jones, your standing in line for a tour in a jeep that has trouble with the engine. Its a great start though!!!

I like the bolded. how about Jungle Exploration: ESCAPE!
It needs something else. I just don't know what...

Yeah, I said it was like Indy.

The difference with Indy is you're an actual touring group using the jeeps with Sallah as your guide and Indy has to help save the tourists who screwed up by falling into the curse of Mara in the temple.

This is an abandoned touring office with abandoned jeeps, warnings not to go into the jungle at all, going anyways, being hunted down several times and having to save ourselves.
