Just 2 diners - easier to get ADRs?

My son and I are going in September. And I would like to do some nice table service dinners. Is it easier getting a table for just 2? I hope so! He wants to eat late so we can have plenty of "park time"

My experience would be no it is not easier to get a table for 2. There are less small tables at the restaurants.
I called to make an ADR last week for Donald's breakfast at AK for 2 and there were no times available all morning. I called back and asked for a table for four and they had plenty of openings and I got the time I wanted.

I have had this happen many times over the years trying to get a table for 2 and calling back and asking for a table for 4 and only having a table for 4 available.

I have had the exact opposite experience. It is usually just my husband and myself and I have not had a problem getting an ADR. Granted, during Thanksgiving week or Easter, you might run into a sang. But overall, I have found it pretty easy to secure a table for 2.

It just myself and my dh, and so far we have never had a problem. But we are flexible with times. I think that helps.

We are a party of two, empty nesters, at least til our little grandson gets old enough to go, and we've found that if you want to eat at a restaurant, ADR's are a must, and I really don't think that versus many more is any harder or easier. We've gotten in without them, but it was a LATE reservation and we were lucky to get it.

My opinion is yes, it would be easier to get ADR for only 2 people. I say this because we are a party of 5 and for a couple of my requests the CM suggested splitting us into two tables of 2 & 3 so we could get in. I did it for only one of our meals - girls at one table and boys at the other - because I really wanted the kids to get to do Crystal Palace.

My question is: why not get an ADR?

All you have to do is make a simple phone call for both ressies and you're in!

I wouldn't take the chance especially in September with all the free dinning going on. I remember going into Guest Relations at EPCOT and seeing the board with availibility of all the restaurants and all of them, on different days, we full and the only way you're going to get in is via ADR- NO EXCEPTIONS!
