Jungle Cruise...when did Chief Name become "Trader Sam"?

Where else but the disboards could I ask this question? I've googled but have so far just come up with the story about how Trader Sam in Disneyland turned into "Chief (Name)" in WDW. (Love this bit of Disney trivia) Anyway... When did Name go back to being called Sam? And why? My guess is because of the future Trader Sam's restaurant location in DtD....?

He became trader Sam again in Late 2009. The skipper I spoke to had no idea why, that's just who he was.

Doubt it was Trader Sam's restaurant.
