Before AK opened, that was the closest Disney had to offer for wildlife..LOL. We were amazed at how life like the animals were. I enjoy the boat ride, and watching the kids reaction when they see the butterflies got their color back, but what I could do without is the corniness of the operator. UGH.

I am thinking about skipping it this year. Anyone else not enjoy it as much as others? Some people think the boat operators are so funny, I think they are really corny.

that's part of the charm of the ride. That being said, it is one of the rides where I feel if I did it once, I don't really need to do it again. I will go on it this upcoming trip, because the rest of my group has never been on it before, so it'll be fun.

Well, after waiting 30 minutes in a standby line for this last September because FP was down at the time, I would have to say SKIP IT! I thought it was horribly dated and Disney could do much better. This is a ride in need of a MAJOR rehab or flat out retirement. IMHO I don't think I would even bother trying this again with a FP. Mickey

Well....I have always loved the Jungle cruise! When we were there in 2000 they were shutting it down to clean it up etc. I agree that it is a bit old and needs to be a bit updated though!
I go everytime we are there because it's a family tradition!

We would skip the cruise. You have to do it at least once, but after that, it isn't much to see. Yes it is cute and corny, but I would much rather see real animals at AK. Our first trip there (1992) we did JC and the kids liked it. We didn't go on it again, until this past spring when my DH and I went without any kids (grown up now). It was the longest wait of any of the rides and we didn't feel it was worth it. My vote would be SKIP IT!!

If the lines are short, then I would ride it. Otherwise I'd skip it if everyone in my party had been on JC before. As someone already mentioned, JC is one attraction that could stand to be refurbished.

We do it every trip. We usually go late fall and find that it is much better in the dark.

If it wouldn't be corny - it wouldn't be the jungle cruise.

Funny thing you asked- I've never done this one! I went to WDW as a child once and we didn't do it. As an adult, this will be our 3rd trip and still haven't done it. DH said he did it as a child and I must do it just because it is a classic! I want to- but we'll see about the line. I don't think I will wait over 30 min. for it!

It's a relaxing ride to sit and enjoy while you catch a breath or two.

Personally I couldn't imagine going to Walt Disney World and not riding The Jungle Cruise. It's just a classic Disney ride. Also, the corny jokes are what make the ride. On my last trip, I had an awful skipper. She had no emotion, and was just trying to get it over with.

We enjoy this ride with the corny jokes. One of our fav memories is of a MVMCP when we were the only ones on the boat. The other boat in front of us had no one on it and the captain was hanging over the edge. Had a whole play going on. We also enjoyed it as part of our tour.

Another vote for at night. I try to snag the last boat of the night by then it is really dark which makes the attraction much more enjoyable to me.

Jungle Cruise is my favorite attraction. I'd like to see it updated, though. In the 1950's exploring the deep, dark jungle was the frontier. Now maybe they need a Nemo undersea / Buzz Lightyear outerspace "Cruise."

But if you click http://web.archive.org/web/20011102135834/pages.prodigy.com/jttoad/jungle1.htm you'll see why it's going to be a hard act to follow. It's fun and it's the essence of the original Disney animatronics. If only the corporate Disney would laugh at itself once in a while as this ride does! :)

The corniness is what makes the cruise fun. I enjoy the ride itself more in the night.:D

Yeah it is corny! But, that's what makes the ride. I swear the guy we had last time sounded just like Eeyore! No enthusiasm whatsoever! But, I told him that and then he was making jokes about it. So, I think that it gets old fast for them, if they have people to laugh and liven up the boat it makes for a much better expirience for everyone!

Go on it if the wait is less than 10 minute, otherwise forget it! It always amazes me how long the ride is for this attraction. Even when I've walked on everything, including the big rides, JC has a horrendous wait!

Jungle Cruise is not one of my favorite attractions. We usually do it one of every two trips.

I never miss it. This year I rode it in the pouring rain. That was quite an experience. Even though there is a top, I still got wet.
