Jungle Cruise closed for a "safety enhancement"

How can a Jungle Cruise boat hit an island?? Good grief, I bet whatever they do will make loading and unloading much slower.

The nets are silly, IMO. I am okay with the stabilizing upgrade, as long as it means I don't have to accept the help of a cast member in and out of the boat any longer. I find they tend to make it more difficult to get on and out. I don't think that will be the case though. No matter what you do to stabilize the boat, the step down is difficult for the elderly and the not so graceful. I'm better off jumping in and out of the boat, but my MIL certainly needs the extra hand...

Ummmm is anyone has ridden the JC they know it's physically impossible for the ride to hit an island. It's on a track, there are no islands for it to hit. That's ridiculous. lol

I'm interested in seeing the enhancements myself, I'm headed back next weekend so I'll have an update as well. We go right after it reopens. :)

I've read accounts where if the JC skipper is running the boat too fast it might jump the track. I've never seen it happen, but I did read that somewhere, so am thinking that maybe this was the case here.

I hope it will still be open the day of 8/26.
It is bad enough HM will be closed....AGAIN to us! :sad2:

Hmmm I've never heard that, thanks for the info. I still don't know where an island would be but I guess if they hit the bank it would be enough to throw them from their seats. :confused3 I guess that would cause other problems too, I mean they would have to put the boat back on the track right? interesting....... pirate:

I was hoping they'd be getting rid of that gun... I already have anxiety over it! :lmao:

This is one that I can confirm :thumbsup2 We were coming around the corner by the hippo pool and the side of the boat we were on hit the rocks of what I guess, technically, is the island in the middle (and it did jar us a bit, but not enough to throw us out of our seats).

We floated around the hippo pool for about 20 minutes while they cleared the other boats of people. Then they sent boats in from the front and back and grabbed hold of us, pulling us back over the track. They used long sticks through the middle of the boat to "latch" us back on and away we went :thumbsup2

The whole thing probably took 45 minutes.
