Those who went to Disneyland this past June....what can you tell me about the park during this month? Weather? Crowds? Ride closures?

I know there are grad nights (which are actually ALL day long) and I was wondering when those typically end? Mid-June? End of June?

Anyone know where I can get a calendar that shows what this past June looked like?

Thanks!!

(Tentatively thinking about June 22nd-28th, 2017.)

wdwinfo.com has a calendar archive (http://www.wdwinfo.com/disneyland/park-hours.cfm?month=6&year=2016). This has the operating hours, entertainment schedule, and attraction closures listed.

Grad Nights typically end mid-June. This year, the last party was on June 17. Last year (2015), the last party was June 19. They have not yet announced the dates for next year.

In terms of the weather, here is some info: https://weather.com/weather/monthly/l/USCA0027

At this point, I think it's kind of hard to guess what next June will be like. For the last two years, the 60th Anniversary Celebration has been going on in June. Next year, there won't be a 60th Anniversary Celebration, it's not yet know what kind of special activities/entertainment/theme might be happening to draw in the crowds. It's also not known if the Rivers of America, F! and train will be back up and running (rumors are yes, but no one knows for sure), if ToT: GotG overlay will be completed, etc.

Thanks for the links. We are hoping to go in February but I am thinking we may have to push our trip back so June is what I am looking at. I hope if we book late June we avoid grad nights. And I imagine weather early to late June wouldn't be drastically different. I know it can get chilly at night sometimes. And other times it can be super hot. But it's been 10 years since I've been there in June so it's hard to remember.

The longer park hours theoretically could be nice. But there's not way we'd make rope drop so that would suck.

I just checked Touring Plans historical crowd levels, and the "what we saw" numbers were anywhere from 3 to 8 for DL and 2 to 8 for DCA (out of 10). Now those low crowd days were during heat waves, it was 105 and 108 in the parks on June 19/20. I remember reading reports on here of people sweltering but enjoying the very low crowds! I went on a Saturday in mid-July and the crowds were not bad at all, I think because most of the lower level APs are blocked out on Saturdays all summer.

One bonus for waiting to go in June is that the Rivers of America is supposed to open again by next summer, some are predicting Memorial Day weekend. That means Tom Sawyers Island, the sailing ship, the Mark Twain and F! will all be running again. Oh, and the train will be running again too! If those attractions are important to you (I know they are to my son) then I would seriously consider going in June.

We may not have a "choice" in the end as it depends on my husband's job situation. So we're keeping all options open at this point.

We were at the parks once in 110 degrees or so (Sept/Oct. 2010) and we survived. These days we take breaks during the hottest point of the day typically anyway. I hate anything over 70 degrees but I'll survive...ha!

I just hope crowds aren't terrible. I actually thought it seemed crowded during our February 2015 visit so that worries me.

2 OR 3 in JUNE?! ROFL. (Not at you! I promise. I'm laughing at Touring Plans.) I would go in expecting 7-8 levels, maybe you see a 6. Busy you know, but not like Christmas busy.

OP, the nice part about anytime in June is the full summer (or almost full as was the case this last summer) entertainment schedule and park hours. There are plenty of tips and tricks here on the DIS to help you navigate around Grad Nites, just type Grad Nite in the search bar! The lowest crowds are found first thing in the morning FYI. Will it be less crowded than when you went Feb of 2015? I'm afraid I can't answer that never having done the park in Feb but I really don't see how June would be less crowded than Feb. OH- maybe you went over President's Day holiday in Feb? That would boost crowd levels.

No, we avoid holidays. We went the first week of February. It wasn't horrible crowds but definitely worse than we were used to for the "off" season. Might have been because huge chunks of the park were closed (all of Condor Flats, all of Critter Country.)

I remember reading reports this summer of the parks being kind of dead. Possibly because of the new tier pricing.

Went there on 2 different two-days-in-the-parks trips. It's hot and it's crowded. That's what I remember. We were down there for a wedding and a business trip so we included DL while we were in the area. That was the only reason we went to the parks (with AP). I'd never go down there in June just because. I'd need a reason (and an AP) to hit it in June again.

That said, the hottest, most crowded, most rides-down-for-refurb day at DL is still better than being at home posting on these boards and wishing I was there.

The last time I went in June was 2006. I lived in Orange at the time so we went often. Most of my visits to the park during the time I lived nearby all blur together. But that June is memorable since we got married and a bunch of my relatives came into town for it. I remember being cold at night and my cousin gave me her long-sleeved shirt to wear during fireworks.

My hottest trips that I can remember were late August and late September.

When was your most recent June trip? What were ride wait times like?

We were there the last week of June this year. We lucked out with weather - the forecast a week ahead of time showed us having 100+ degrees, but we were mostly mid-90s. We live in Phoenix, so that wasn't really a problem for us, and we took our breaks during the hottest parts of the day. As for crowds, it was busy, but not unmanageably so. We did rope-drop and, with judicious use of FPs, we never waited longer than 20 minutes for anything we wanted to do.

We went the last few days of June on into the first couple days of July in 2015. It was crowded because of all the 60th stuff. I remember the weather was cooler the week before we went, and the week after we left. It was in the very high 80s to low 90's when we were there. The evenings were very pleasant though. It even rained a little one afternoon.

We were there June 13 - 21 this year, and it wasn't bad at all. The first two park days were so cool my youngest and I bought hoodies (we'd left our others at the hotel, HoJo) in California Adventure on the second day. Morning temperatures were mid-60s/low 70s with a steady wind and cloudy sky (June Gloom). My oldest had worn his to the park, and DH didn't need one (he was loving the temps!). By afternoon we were able to take them off. I comfortably wore denim capris for both of those days. The other three park days were warmer and involved much lighter clothing! There was a heat wave the last couple of days with temperatures over 100 degrees.

We were in the parks the same as a couple of grad nights, but we didn't notice that it made crowds worse. In fact, overall, we didn't think crowds were bad. Everything we'd read had scared me into thinking we'd be walking into some kind of insanity, but it was no worse than any crowds we've ever encountered at the Magic Kingdom in WDW. The hotter days had very low crowds in my opinion, at least compared to WDW in the summer months.

We were in the parks on the 14th, 15th (grad night), 18th (saturday), evening of the 19th for parade and fireworks (father's day), and all day on the 20th (hottest day of the trip).
