Hi,

We are arriving on June 22 for a week. I was wondering what kinds of crowds to expect. We have been in April and November, but now that my daughter is in school we have to go in summer months. Any info would be great!

Thanks!

It will be hot and crowded. Probably, it will rain a little every day. The crowds are worse the week of July 4th. I would plan to use the Fast Pass as much as possible, and take a break mid-day when the heat and crowds are the worst.

Expect fairly heavy crowds as well as heat. June is our rainy season, so expect a shower almost every afternoon. Remember to drink lots of water to avoid dehydration & pack your ponchos & sun block! One really good benefit to going in the summer is the extended park hours. You can enjoy the cooler (85 instead of 95!) evenings in the parks till late.
Don't ruin your vacation with a sunburn!

we went this past june and it was a nightmare, it poured rain everyday and the parks were still mobbed, and it was so hot, we wore those ponchos they sell that are really just garbage bags that ripped apart, every day was the same ,I would never do it again, it really did take the magic out of the trip

Having lived in Orlando, Florida for 10 years and as a former CM, you can't really count on anything. Florida's weather is at a changing point in June. May can be somewhat dry and June starts the rainy season. Some years it starts earlier than others. The heat is similar to most places in the Summer, but don't worry you'll do fine. Just remember to be prepared and bring rain ponchos, sunscreen, hats, water bottles, comfortable shoes and a positive attitude.:) :bounce:

We went last year for the 1st time in June. We usually go in Nov. Thanksgiving week. Last June we hit the worst rain that Florida had seen in previous years. They said to expect afternoon showers, but that was not what happened. They had what they called a tropical wave that just sat over them. We had torrential rain everyday, all day! It was awefull!!!! It rained so hard that the WL, where we stayed, was seeping water. My husband swore he'd never go back in June again, ever!
But with my daughter now in High School, it's hard to go any other time, so I just started planning another trip for this June. Keeping our fingers crossed that this year will be better.
Don't worry about the crowds or the afternoon rain and if your in one park and the crowds seem unbearable, go to another park. Sometimes the crowds will be lighter there.

Crowd size will be about 2X or more what you have seen before. You can get very long lines (hour or more) for popular rides but fastpass usally helps. In 2002, which I consider a quirk, it rained (pouring) 10 to 12 hours a day during that period. More normal is two to four 30 to 40 minute thunderstorms in the afternoon to evening with an occassional day when you get a rain that lasts for a few hours. Heat will be a lot more stifling than you have experienced before -- it does not cool off at night.

(Note, I assumed above that when you went in April it was not one of the two Easter weeks, immediately before and of Easter; if you actually went one of those Easter weeks then you can expect crowd in June to be significantly less than that.)

June at WDW is one of the better months to go. It really isnt that hot out, at least it doesnt feel like it , and i really didnt think it was that crowded.. its more crowded in april , july , and decemebr then June. I like WDW in June

We were there last June so here's my take on the situation.
It did rain every day, but did not interfere with our plans in any way. On our first morning there we had breakfast at Spoodles (GREAT FOOD!!!) and then took the bus from the Boardwalk to the Magic Kingdom. It was pouring by the time the bus came, but stopped when we arrived at the Magic Kingdom. It is really hit or miss with the rain. Of course, the indoor attractions are not affected but something like Test Track cannot operate.
At least the rain kept the temperatures from becoming too uncomfortable.
Don't let the weather become too much of a concern. Just make the best of it.
I agree with previous posts that the parks were pretty crowded. Don't go without some kind of plan. Use Fast Pass and Early Morning, and E-night at the Magic Kingdom. From what I read about the Early Mornings, get there early and then get out since that park will become very crowded when the main gates open.
Many people say that during the parades is a great time to hit the popular rides. We found that getting to the parks first thing makes for little waits. We grabbed Fast Passes, got on the stand-by line, and then got on again using the Fast Pass! Then when things get too crowded head back to the hotel to relax and go back again later.
Bottom line is that you will have a great time regardless of the weather or crowds.

ok getting nervous about june.. Do crowds usually get bad in the first week or later in the month? Do gay days affect the crowd size?

The June crowds depend on when the kids get out of school. It gets more crowded as the month goes by.
As for Gay Days, the MK is most impacted by increased crowds, the other parks minimally. All in all not a big impact.
