June 2003 Questions

After learning in Janaury I'd be a father for the first time, my wife has this morning informed me she's has to give a class in Savannah the week of June 2. Has '03 been a good year so far, or what?

We figure a new child along with lost work time, expenses, etc. will cause us to miss a few years, so we're spending June 6-12 at the Beach Club and giving our unborn child a Disney preshow! Here's hoping the child will think more of the world if they experience Disney from the womb.

Two questions I hope someone can answer.

First, we're hoping, oh-so hoping Mission Mars will, as scheduled, be open in June. Does anyone have any idea if this will be a ride a pregnant woman can enjoy? My inclination is no, as I'm assuming it's a simulator ride. But if anyone has any knowledge that I'm wrong, that would be wonderful.

Second, we've never tried Typhoon Lagoon except in the off seasons. Would a Monday in June be a quieter time than usual to go?

Our plan, with DW near the end of her second trimester, is to stay at the BC and do only MGM and EPCOT, keeping everything close by and easy. MGM and EPCOT have tons of calm things to do for those expecting, and at TL, the surf pool and Castaway Creek seem to be excellent ways for DW to get excercise and rest simultaneously. Any further suggestions, along with answers to the above, would be greatly appreciated.

IF Mission: Space is open (and that's a mighty big if), current info would indicate that it wouldn't be something for your wife to go on in her second trimester. The ride will be bumpy and jostling, simulating take-off and landing.

RE: Typhoon Lagoon ... once school is out, the waterparks are crowded no matter when you go. If you're there in June, you can be sure of crowds pretty much all the time. Not necessarily unmanagable crowds, but there's really not a "less crowded" day once summer break starts.

:earsboy:

Congratulations on the new baby. :D From what I have read, Mission Space could cause motion sickness. The water park idea sounds good. I would request a room close to the elevators at BC. Have a great time.

I appreciate the tips. Mission Space sounds like a rough ride, although from other's suggestions, there will be a pretty good pre-show that DW could watch. Most of that, though, is obviously speculation. The only thing I'm worried about at TL is the big waves, but we'll play that by ear.

Thanks for the congratulations. We've been trying for close to four years. I feel like I've climbed Everest. Note on the BC: DW has orderd me to get ground floor room near the B&C. Something about a lifeline to the milkshakes....

thx,

Pat

LOL on the milkshakes! So nice to read how excited you are. And your child is already lucky to have cool Disney parents!

I should add that we're not going in June because we want to. We just feel pre-birth exposure to Disney will save a lot of explaining later on;)
