June or October - is June really that bad?

We were originally going to try and go in October. Just me and my DD age 7 on Oct 25-30. But now I'm having second thoughts. I don't like the idea of taking her out of school (2nd grade). It is only for 2 days, they already have 2 days off for teacher convention, but I just feel bad about it. I'm already having a hard time finding cheap airfare from Milwaukee for those dates too and I'm also concerned a little about hurricanes.
If we go in June, my DD wouldn't have to miss school and we could stay longer, plus the parks would be open longer. We'd go June 12- June 19 probably. I know it would be hot, definitely hotter than Oct right. (I really don't like heat and humidity!) And a lot more crowded right? We're early morning people anyway, so I figured we'd go to the parks early come back for a break and go back later in the day. In Oct, I figured we'd stay most of the day, since the parks would close earlier.
Anybody have any ideas, advice, suggestions or HELP!!!
Thanks

When my son was in school, we had no choice but to go around the same time as you in June. Work committments took any other time of the year away and my son practically begged me not to take him out of school (he was a lot older than seven, though).

It's not that bad. Yes, it will be hotter than October (probably). But if you are prepared for it, you can handle it. If you're not into the heat and humidity, do what you suggested and take the afternoon break. Rest and hydrate often if you need to.

It is a little more crowded as the Southeastern kids are out of school but most of the Atlantic coast schools are still in or just about to be let out. Go and have fun in June.
