Hiya everyone, :yay::yay:

We got back late Saturnday nite. Sunday was very fun filled. :laundy: and way too busy. Lots to still do. Leaves are everywhere, and the trees are only half down. Its wet, and cold here too. Said they had flurries here already but not stickable yet.:scared1: Probably waiting for halloween.

It was so hot at wdw. The first week, we where in the 90's all week and it was like July. Then we dipped to 60 and 40's at nite, then back to the 90's. It was not like expected october weather. The party's where nice. Our 1st mnsshp was actually colombus day. I was worried, I didn't realize the day we set it up >> but it was empty, guess everyone else did.:confused3 But it was 90 still late into the nite. :confused3 IE: sweating for no apparent reason.;) The next party was cold. and crowded. Had the most interesting incounter with a mother that nite. Bug, and I where camped out for fireworks and parade watching about 40 minutes, on the curb, on the tip of mainstreet where you blend into the big circle area [also know as the area near the popcorn machines;)]. Anyway, the area is fairly packed and we are standing, protecting our area between garbage can & horse tie up. >> When this mom with dad attached and 2 kids [4 or 5 ish] and she saids " can you move out of the way my kids want to sit here. :scared1: Excuse me?? I saw the mom who was parked next to us mouth drop open. >> I said no, sorry we are waiting for the fireworks and parade. . . She said but they want to sit on curb. .... Finally instead of arguing I looked at husband [who wanted to crawl under a rock] and said "no, sorry". He finally pulled her away. The family next to us said "she could not believe, they even considered asking us that". Bug, says its cause we don't have kids. People think you don't belong there.:confused3 Forgot to write that the street still had many places to stand if they wanted to and it was only 5 minutes to go till the lights went off and fireworks started. I don't like the street areas cause of the crowds, me being short & people with the kids on there shoulders.

So between that and my back being in a funk the entire trip > It was an interesting time. We did get some R&R. The Poly was great, PORS not so much. It was soooooooo hot, didn't feel like eating much so missed most of our adr's. Ugh. Was pleasantly surprised with the brown derby. Much improved award for trip.

Looks like a lot going on here.

Tomar, I will let you DVC up the GF but, please not the poly. :wizard: I love it the way it is. Good luck with the dentist. I too have a weird fear of dentist. Probably something to do with my braces for 7 years.

EE22, Snow, ugh. Thanks for the call on vacation. :littleangel: :wizard: Your the best. [you too tomar:littleangel: for the info]. We did book a deal for march. So mky is very happy.

TP2, Have to agree. The down payment / prices > turns me off too. I need instant gradification if I buy something. I can't wait 7 trips to have a more affordable trip. I can make some choices, to keep us going.

Candi, Good luck with the job. pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

HMC, good luck with the planning. :wizard:

Hope everyone has a great monday. Tommorrow back to work. Bug went today.

Oh, almost forgot. Lots of fancy resorts now at wdw. Next to the CBR is bonnt creek, which was just a wyndman [need spell check]. condo. But farther back there we found a very nice Hilton and Waldorf astoria resorts. With golf. Very nice. and Very good locations. The Four seasons is finally making progress. They have the entrance fixed. Wondering if these are going to be included in any special's with wdw, EMH? etc..

mky:cutie:

Hi MKY !!:cutie:......Welcome Back !!:cheer2:
Hope you guys had a great time, even though it was still July type weather in the world for an Oct. Trip !:beach:....Were you able to work on your tan ???...HeeHee....Your gunna be the envy of the hospital with a tan in Late Oct..(if you guys did ):cloud9: ;)
Looks like the natives were getting restless one day at the magic kingdom :scared1:....that`s why Mr. Tomar and I rather watch the fireworlks from Ohana, or the GF Marina.....too tooo busy on main street in the evening !!....I love Spectro..that is one of my favorite parades...but I can pick the times that I was able to enjoy it without some sort of stress from the crowds.....:sad2:
LOL about the Grand....This is my dream ya know !!:littleangel: ....I promise I will leave the poly to you :flower3:
Im sorry that you didn`t get to do many of your ADR`s.....did you at least, get to eat at Narcoossees ?....I hope that you are feeling better with your back soon , and Im happy that you got to book a good deal for march !!:flower3:

Hiya Tomar,

No, we didn't feel like Narcoosee's. Didn't want to shower, and get dressed up in the heat > to start sweating immediately again. :lmao: We pretty much grazed slowly around and just ate when hungery or what was nearer. We did keep sci fi. But, as much as I [and bug] love sci fi, if the menu does not change we aren't going except for appy's or desert. We kept 1 tea at gf. It was our only venture to the gf too. It was nice but cm not impressive, so it was not all it could be.:confused3 The food and tea where always good. We wound up at Planet Hollywood 3 times. :upsidedow Just convient and somewhere cool. Otherwise it was counterservice. We had kids meals, or split sandwiches etc.. . We are pretty thrifty with the food, when we want to.
Did see 2 movies at the amc pleasure island. The heat was just too much. Yes, the greek in me, tans profusely. Bug, not so much. She uses a 30. Since they have to watch her skin for moles, or marks. I burned badly 1 cloudier day, and then peeled, but still tanned quiet a bit.
My back started at pors. :confused3 Not sure if it was the heavy suitcase lifting or the beds.:confused3 Bug, thought it was the air I had blowing next to me at about 50 degrees. I am constantly hot. Even with my H. patches, Not sure. I shouldn't have these flashes but I was cooking. Bug slept that nite with a sweatshirt and extra blanket. :rolleyes1 It was just very stiff in morning, each day, and took some motrin, then just slowly loosened it up. By the end of the nite, was pretty good and then start over the next am.
Wondering about the ap rate till march. I can't find anything on it. I looked at the main wdw site ap area, and here, intercot, mousesavers, .... where did you see it? Or, did they pull it back? For March, I called about a bounceback but it was just the free dining offer for late aug / sept 2010. Then EE22 called and said you tipped her off about the ap's. I called about that > and She had rates but, nothing where I wanted to stay. No poly, or monorail resorts where coming up. Then she told me, I had a special pin ap offer > which I never got in the mail or email. We tried that and it went through for the poly, but only gv was available but at a good rate. I hope its still good. They sent the email confirmation. So I am keeping that.
Guess that will be ok.
Tomar, was glad you said you watch fireworks elsewhere. I felt guilty when after 6 or 8 hrs in the parks I wanted to get out and rest / relax somewhere cooler and quietier. I am getting so old. :rotfl: But, we got to see everything we wanted and did do alot. Just slower. How much time do you and Tony spend in the park?

mky:cutie:

Hi MKY :cutie:
About the rates....I was shocked I recieved the email about a special pin code :faint:....I never got one before, and I did the same thing you did, went and looked a the AP site....NO CODE there:upsidedow....it was a special email mailing to some AP holders I believe (a few other folks on the DVC board got it too)....I called the telephone no. on the email to ask if the pin was good beyond 6-12...but no luck ...Wouldn`t ya know it..I finally got a pin code ...I couldn`t use !! :crazy2:....funny though...the email came to my addy...but was under Mr. Tomar`s name....:upsidedow.....I asked the cm if I had one under my name for a later date...Nada :rolleyes1
So happy that yu had a pin under your name....a Discount ,is a Discount right ? ;) :woohoo:
I know about the aircons at the mods too MKY....I used to... NOT...NO...WON`T sleep on that side :scared1:.....if I did....I walked the world with a cold !!!:headache:..The air is concentrated on one side of the room most of the time :cold:
Glad you at least got to the Tea @ the Grand...and you did the world very relaxed this trip....great !! :woohoo:
Trust me MKY- Mr. Tomar and I never feel guilty about watching wishes from ....Elsewhere ;)...Our favorite place so far is from the boat last summer with all my Friends !!!!:grouphug: :cloud9: :lovestruc
When we go to the parks...we usually get there at 3 or 4 in the afternoon (you KNOW Mr. Tomar has to have the morning at the pool :beach: ;) )...but having said that...you have to understand that it is summer, and the parks are open later ...so we usually get in 6 to 8 hours at a time anyway....if we are eatting outside the parks....we usually eat first..then do an EMH night
Im sorry that you were sunburn...but happy it turned into a nice tan !!!:flower3:

Tomar:littleangel::wave2:

We prefered the view from our room at the poly this time. { Air conditioned, and we stayed inside with no kids screaming.} I totally splurged, and we did the mkv. :rolleyes1[ok, 1st time in several years, and probably wait just as long to do it again]:rotfl: But, we would see the boats go out into position each nite, and I thought of all you guys each nite. That was an evening not to forget.

We started out pretty late each day, this trip. Took me that long to get going & move. Then took mini breaks in mid afternoon, and then we where usually back for the fireworks that nite. {I was getting my money out of that view}:lmao:

Ooooh, we loved the Idol finale show!!! We saw it 3 times. Was so worth it. The shows daily, have lots of fillers / fluff, and some not so talented people. But the evening finale, is more of the singers themselves and less fluff. But we recommend it. Still love toystory mania. We waited in standby, from 40 minutes to 80 minutes. Since we didn't get up early. :confused3

WHOA mky:cutie:.....You had the bestest, quietest, most peaceful view in the WORLD !! :cloud9::wizard::cloud9::wizard:...right from your balcony !!!:goodvibes
I remember we had a similar experience at the Grand one year....we had a lagoon view room...it....was....the.....most magical !!!...we used to run back to the resort everynight before 10 just to see the fireworks from our room....soooo happy you had such a magical view !! :cloud9: :woohoo: :cloud9:
Loved the Idol show too.........although we didn`t see the finale that night , we enjoyed the interaction with the audience , and the 3 singers the day we were, there were really very good....I did pick the winner though....(a fireman from a southern state who sang..."Walkin on sunshine" :yay:...LOL )

MKY - welcome back!

The board was pretty quiet without you here. :goodvibes

I am still requesting pixie dust as I am waiting for a job offer. :thumbsup2

Tomar - when did you buy into DVC? If I get this new job I will probably have to go down to two weeks holidays again. With all the points we own, I may need to plan a trip with some friends to use out points.

No tanning for me. I have two colours, white and red, then I go back to white again...not good

MKY- Sorry to hear about the lady with her kids. It is more about self absorded moms than it is about the kids. She is probably the type that thinks the sun and the moon are timed just for her.

Based on your description of your back - I would say it was the AC causing you issues. When are you heading back to the world now? March? Don't forget we will be there from the 11th to the 20th. We will be at AKV for the whole stay but we have to change rooms on the 14th. We only have the concerge level for a few days.

MKY - welcome back!

.

Candi- hoping that you get good news soon about the job !pixiedust:pixiedust:
We own at Saratoga Springs since Oct. of 2003...The Resort was just starting construction....so we actually own a peice of the second building unit in Congress Park :goodvibes

MKY- I tend to agree with Candi about your back....I know the Aircon in the mods...and it can be consentrated on one part of you if you were on that side of the room...:sad2:....Hope your feeling better soon !
Say Hi to bug ! :wave2:

EE22- How is the week going for the Bestest teacher in the field of dreams :flower3:

TP2- Hope all is well with you and your family !!! Are the girls ready for this weekend ????....Are they going to dress as the princesses that they are ?? princess:princess:princess:

Hiya everyone :wave2:

:littleangel:Tomar, Yes we loved the view. :thumbsup2 For Idol, Bug and I want to see if they show any of the winners trying out. In Oct. there are alot of british tourist. Alot of them sing beauitful, but we didn't vote for them cause are they really going to come back here and try out for american idol?

Candi, I think your right about the AC. I am feeling better just sleeping in my bed. Good luck with the job!!! :wizard:pixiedust::wizard: If it comes through will you still get March off? Or is that up for discussion yet? Good luck!

EE22, Stop sending rain. PLEASE! :sad1: It cannot get any gloomier here if we tried.

TP2, Hope the girls are doing ok. Ready for Halloween?

****Ok, Role call**** Have you gotten your flu shot yet? Planning to get the H1N1? ? ? ? Trust me, since I have been back at work. Have seen some terrible things. Get your shots. This is no picnic. And is truely dangerous. Very danagerous. We had our flu shot before we left. The h1n1 is not available here yet. But, will get it when available. :thumbsup2
Sorry, but looking out for your interest. :littleangel:

mky:cutie:

Hi Mky ! :cutie:
First let me say that ....I got the flu shot !! :goodvibes
Thank you for your concern for us....your the bestest NURSE in the world  !!....
Im not a candidate for the H1N1 though...since I have Broncial Asthma , the allergist said my immune system is not the greatest
Secondly- Im hysterical about the british contestants :rotfl:....I agree with you completely.....Its called "American ..Idol"....LOL ;)
Question- Do each night`s finale winners get the golden ticket to audition on the real deal show ???
If so, you may very well see some of the people you voted for :woohoo:

Tomar :wave2:

Yes, they get the golden tix, but it just puts them at the head of the line in any us city. But, just trying out at wdw, they have worked with a voice coach, and they help you pick a song right for your voice & teach presentation too. They are all bound to do well.

If your not able to take the shot: Stay away from crowds. Stay out of the doctor's office's, hospital's, away from anyone sick. No parties, no gathering places. Carry your hand santizer with you at all cost.:wizard:

mky:cutie:

Tomar - sorry you can't get the shot. I would think you should have it more than others to protect you, but I guess it is the side affects you have to look out for.

We bought into SSR in 2004. So we are not far behind you.

MKY - we will all get the shot as soon as we can. They have had the first clinic and had to get the police to control traffic and tell people the line was full! Maybe the fact it is free here has a positive influence.

The cancelled our flu shot clinic at work this year. I am not sure why. Maybe they are hoping to do an H1N1 clinic once they are more available. I do have a question for you. If you get the H1N1 should you still get the regular flu shot too? I am pro vacine but don't want to over vacinate either.

TP2 and EE22 must be busy these days. I hope all is going well for them.

Hi Ladies: Yes, been very busy here. Kids are super busy which makes mom even busier.

We all got our flu shots. But the H1N1 is not available here either. I am so confused about it. Some say no way and others say definately. Our doctors don't have it. They said maybe in January when they see how people are reacting to it.:confused3

The kids keep changing their costumes. I said I am done. Pick one from the bin of past years stuff. No more shopping.:headache:

MKY: That is exactly what DH can't stand about the World. So sad. What got me upset this year was how adults dismissed my kids. I would have DD10 go ahead of me to grab a table, I would be right behind her, and people would sit at the table (with her there) and bring their chairs in. DH and I split up a lot this year because he does not like long park days. That is fine because I love it there. I got really angry at one point because I was alone with all 3 and HAD to feed them breakfast. DD5 can't go without food because of her belly issues and DD10 had taken Tylenol for a bad headache. So I grabbed the food and had my hands full, DD8 was pushing the stroller, and I had DD10 grab the table while I paid. I actually said loudly that it is really sad that grownups can act so rudely and not have any respect for a child. Bad parenting on my part but I was so frustrated in that moment because it was like the third time it had happened. I was on edge because I know that without food, DD5 will have a temper tantrum at the slightest thing. So many feel that this is THEIR vacation to Disney and forget that it is EVERYONES special vacation to Disney.

Candi: Hope you have some news about the job. Maybe you can sell some of your points. I don't know how many extra you have but maybe that is way to go.

Tomar: Scary you can't get the shot. I carry Purell with me everywhere. And in Disney I carried Clorox wipes and cleaned every table before eating. Mostly stayed away from buffets too.

Hope everyone has a great Halloween. Supposed to be nice here, 69 degrees and sun!:yay:

TP2 - I would have done the same thing. You could have had a cast member talk to them because it is "unsafe" to approach other people's children like that. I had one family tell me that it was their special vacation so my kids should move for their kids. I said "sure for $5000 you can have my seat because that is what it will cost me to come back and see it another time". Needless to say, they left.

As for selling my points...wash your mouth out with soap... :rotfl: It is not good to say four letter words - sell :lmao:. I usually rent them out and I want to do a treehouse one trip and other things, so they will get used. I would give them to friends to use before I would let them go to waste. I was plugging a DIS girls trip for us ladies if I need to use them up. :grouphug:

It will be hard with only two weeks vacation when I have four weeks worth of plans. :lmao: I had five weeks plus the week between Christmas and New Years the last two years. I am hoping I can negotiate more later when they see how hard I work. The COO has a reputation for rewarding hard workers. I would rather an extra week than 2% for the first couple of years. We shall see.

I have been told there is an offer coming but they did not send it tonight. I hope to see it tomorrow and I hope it has the three weeks holidays I asked for. Send a little vacation time pixie dust.

Tomar - your pixie dust seems to be the most powerful for me. :woohoo:

Candi: I meant rent.:thumbsup2 I was thinking sell for one summer. Got the terms wrong. I would not want to sell either.

People get funny on their vacations to Disney. You see those that are so anxious they are flipping out because the kids have to go to the bathroom. I have learned to relax at Disney but the whole thing with people going ahead of my kids and dismissing them like they don't exist really urks me.

Heres more pixie dust for you Candi. More has to be better than some!:wizard::wizard:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust::wizard::wizard:

TP2 - thanks for the pixie dust. I am still waiting for the offer. I hope to have it over the weekend.

I teach my kids to take turns but to make sure you get your turn. If someone did that to my kids, they would say something to them. Not ignorantly but they would speak up. But I can be pretty outspoken.

The weather is really nice tonight. I hope it stays this way for the kids tomorrow.

:goodvibes

Hi Everyone !! :goodvibes

OMG... I may be getting Germaphobic !! :rotfl:

:hmghost:Happy Halloween Everyone !! :hmghost:

DL11 is currently watching the Wishes Cruise DVD from July:wizard:looks just as much fun as it was then!!!:tink:

She also had her braces taken off this week.
Had DS18's final senior pics picked out.

I had a bad week. I had a horrible reaction to a new medicine and was out sick on Thursday...down and out till nearly 1 pm on Thursday. Friday was better but about half way through the school day I was toast.

Hope you all are hanging in there. We have nice but cool weather now MKY so I've stopped the rain. We had flooding again here on Thursday night and Friday morning. I saw Noah float by again. It was BAD!

Hiya everyone,

TP2, I would never, [even consider] sitting at a table that a child was sitting at. :littleangel: {but I do worry when I see a 3year old by himself at a table or someone in a stroller holding a table} Really, what are some people thinking? I worry someone would take the kids, or your stuff, and not the table. I know, you have bigger girls too, and would not leave the little one unless you could see her. princess: We usually offer up chairs, or invite someone to sit with us > if they can't find somewhere to sit. I also do not expect people who have waited for parades, or fireworks for several minutes, move so I could have their choice seats, just caused I asked nicely. I also opened so many doors or moved out of the way for strollers or EVC's. We even noticed husbands walking out front, and not helping mom with the buggy. Now, I know why I am not married. That would of lasted about 5 seconds. :rotfl: But my dying question is What do people pack [or not pack] into those strollers and leave anywhere or anytime? I know I am sometimes hauling way too much in my backpack :confused3 but some buggy's look like they would collapse if they tried to put the baby or kids in them. :scared1::scared1: Around here, crime is definately a concern, so we never leave anything, unattended unless you expect it stolen. Basically, I agree with your husband. :wizard: Some people just behave badly. Whether they have kids or not. And they usually seem to like doing it in public at WDW. :confused3 Maybe :idea:we should have a desperate housewives of WDW? Now, that would be a show.

Geez, I sound crabby tonight. Went to bed last nite at 1030 pm [could not sleep] & clock set at 1:55 am so I could be a work by 3am. I worked till 3:30pm But it was still better than saturnday. That was kinda scary.
People should only set there clocks for 1:55am if they are leaving on vacation.:thumbsup2

Candi, hang in there waiting for your offer. Good things come to people who wait. :wizard:

EE22, Hope your feeling better! Yikees, be careful. Thanks for the dryer air.

Tomar, Best advice, wash your hands & stay away from sick people. :wizard:

I am fully vacinated now. :yay: Bring on the swine. Yes, we all need [or those without the allergies] both shots. Swine, is a type of flu type A. But we are expecting the regular flu type A and B around mid winter Jan / feb. They are hoping that the swine, will slack off by then. Not sure that will happen. But: You first show up positive for flu type A, and then they can check if you have swine. You definately can have type A flu & not have swine. If you have type B > you do NOT have swine.
I am in a group of only 17% of our hospital staff, getting vacinated. They did not recieve there requested shipment. So only certain units will get the shot first. Working with kids moved us high on the list.

I think I need to go to bed. I am sounding like andy rooney. 60 minutes.:scared1: I was trying to stay up a while, so I don't wake at 2 am and am up all nite.:rolleyes1

mky:cutie:

I GOT THE JOB!!!! I start Nov 17th. I am going to see my brother and won't be back until the 16th, so they moved the date one day for me. :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Thanks for all the pixie dust. I am sure that is what made the difference. :goodvibes

On the bad news side. I have flu like symptoms today. Not too bad. Sore throat, cough, aches. It is only day one, so maybe I am just tired from a busy weekend out in the weather. We had a walk a ton at church today and last night was cold here. I may have to give my notice to work over the phone. I don't know what they want me to do - go to work or stay home. I am training four people in the office this week, so if I am sick, it will not take much to get everyone ill. I am thinking I will call in the morning and see what they want me to do. I could wear a mask until I know if it is just a cold or flu. I feel this way when I get a cold too.

Anyway! I have a new job! I am so excited!

The company name is WindTronics if you want to check it out on the internet. :woohoo:

EE22 - I hope you are feeling better.
