TP2 Sorry about the youngest DD and happy birthday to the other two. I hope she does okay at the Doc.

DL is offering a deal with buy 5 for the price of 3 so I am watching MKY. That would mean WDW not till summer of 2011. With DL in there it wouldn't be too bad.

I am thinking we will hit the mall in Aurora. Fox Valley...Macy's and a Disney Store although they aren't that great anymore. Then the outlet on the 88 tollway on the way home. She saw many places that she likes there too. I am not sure how far Aurora is from you two, but I don't think that far. I am thinking the Mon and Tues after Christmas. ?? I know it's a busy time too though.

The airfare to WDW over winter break has not dropped so we need something to do...

Hiya everyone! :yay:

EE22 :thumbsup2 Not far at all. We go there constantly. The prime outlet on 88 is just like the one in Orlando.:wizard: [its a cousin mall to it]. I get my shoes there.;) http://www.efactoryoutlets.com/logos.aspx?category=43 They have a store. There is a great Sonic's just a block away too. [also in orland]:wizard: Our only bad days would be that weekend with xmas, cause 1. i work & 2. bug's b-day is the 27th. Other than that we are good. Fox Valley http://westfield.com/foxvalley/ has been fixed up and not too bad anymore. Its alot nicer. Other malls for you to consider: Right off 88 [get your map out, or if you need one let me know] north of aurora is Oak Brook and Yorktown malls. They both have disney stores. Yes, they are more upscale, but very nice. Oak brook is actually an "outside" mall. They go all out decorating year round. Flowers and fountains in summer & extra xmas trees with lights during the holidays. Yorktown is right down butterfield rd. about 1 mile from it. It is a regular mall. But very cool. More affordable but does still have very nice stuff. This is probably the best {IMHO} disney store in our area. Still have nice stores too, a giant von mauer. I found this:
http://www.oakbrookcenter.com/ & http://www.yorktowncenter.com/ Might be worth looking into. Fox Valley is probably 20 minutes from our house. Oak brook area is probably 25 minutes from here [very nice macy's, nordstrom, lord & taylor]. Difference is I take tollways [355 > 88] to oakbrook and fox valley is on rt 59 and red lights from us. Trying to think of ideas near these areas, for you. There are 2 zoo's. Lincoln park http://www.lpzoo.org/ is "free" and north side of the city of chicago. But brookfield zoo is off 1st ave. from I55. Brookfield http://www.czs.org/czs/Brookfield/Zoo-Home.aspx is probably the better of the two. Way bigger, but lots of walking. They both do special things for the holidays. If your up in chicago, the willis center [sears tower] has added windows that you walk out on and stand in a glass box, up over the city. Saw it on tv, have no plans to ever do it. Looked very scary. If you or amanda have any specific questions let me know.

Thanks, everyone for your support with mom. We have a lot going on here. We have some good days and some bad.

TP2, hand in there. Asthma is rampant, till the weather stablizes. Just try to stay on top of it.

EE22, are you thinking about doing "points" for a stay at the grand californian? You can do that, couldn't you?

mky:cutie:

MKY - you can use points for the Grand Californian resort as they will have DVC rooms but my understand is they only have a few so the trick will be to book right at the 7 month mark.

I finished work on Wednesday and I was suppose to start at the new company today but they delayed the start date a week since the software was not in yet.

So I have a few days now to get some things done.

MKY - sorry to hear about your mom. :grouphug:

TP2 - my DD14 has been diagnosed with asthma and we are going to see the doctor today for medication.

Well, when I checked Allegiant again..they fly to LA on Monday and Friday so the 5 for 3 deal won't work...bummer. But they still have 30% off of rooms so maybe. Who knows. Right now they go till the end of April and their passes are discounted too...adult for kid's price.

With DVC I'd have to book at 7 months and with it not sold out my best bet would probably be this summer, but if there was a deal, I'd go for that instead. I don't think DL offers deals very often. Otherwise we probably will stay in one of the DL partner hotels. I'd bank my points to use at WDW in 2011.

GREAT info on the malls mky. We've been to Oak Brook. DL11 wants a Macy's so that's why I thought Fox Valley would be good. Maybe we'll try the Yorktown one too for the Disney Store...Oak Brook would be cold I think. For sure the outlet on the way home. I don't think that there is much for adults anymore in the Disney Stores though which is a bummer.

We are planning on that Mon and Tues after Christmas at this point. Airfare is still too high to WDW. Will keep you posted!

TP2...good luck with DD.
MKY...I hope things improve with your mom.

Hi Everyone !!
Wow I missed alot of news  ..

MKY-:cutie:...Im so sorry about your MOm...I don`t know how old she is ...but with Nana, the fact that she was getting dementia, and being sick at the same time, became a very daunting experience for all of us....I had the POA for her the last year...and started to take care of all her financial situations, and that really got to her, as she realized that she was declining in quality of her life....My heart goes out to you and bug and your family at this time
I was reading about your trip form LV to DL...MKY- it`s 5 hours by car exactly...having family in LaLaLand, I`ve done the trip back and forth to from LA to Vegas a couple of times...Yes...it is one highway though (mabe thats why it feels shorter ;) )....Route 15....all in the Desert

TP2- I am so sorry for DD5:sad2:....I hope the Dotor visit proves helpful...Broncitis is my middle name for the last few years ....ick....I pray that the little princess :littleangel: is feeling better soon !:flower3:
Happy Birthday to the other Perfectly Princesses !!:cake::bday:

EE22- How Exciting !!!...You have so many plans in the fire !!...A Chicago Shopping Spree...LA...to DL....How wonderful !!!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:
and....YIPEEE about the chi-town meet with MKY and Bug !! :woohoo::woohoo:

Candi- Im so sorry that DD14 has Asthma too now.....Hope your Doc Appt. goes well for her also :flower3:

Well...tomorrow I had to go finish up with the Root Canal, and the Dentist will take an impression of the new crown ( I feel like this is taking ....Forever !! )...Hope the end result was all worth the ....Pain :scared1:

Hope everyone has a good week :grouphug:

Candi: Good luck with the asthma. We have good months and bad. September is usually the worst for her. Winds up she has the flu. She is back on pulmacort 2x per day with albuterol every 4 hours.

EE22: I get tons of offers for DL, way more than for DW. I guess because I live so far away they figure I won't go.:headache: I will send them your way next time I get one. Usually the DL offers are discounts on the room and tickets. You never see ticket discounts at DW.

MKY: Thought we were going to the ER Sunday night. Didn't because we were afraid of her catching the flu. Winds up that is what she has. She was ratteling and wheezing with the albuterol in the nebulizer but then her heart would race. It was awful and her breathing never got better.:sad2: Even with treatments.

Good luck with your mom.:flower3:

TP2- Can you ask the Doc if DD5 can take Xopenex 0.31mg ? It is for children....but I take the child`s dose because the Albuterol races my heart also !!:sad1:
Im so sorry that she has the flu...."DD5...Feel Better Soon" !!!!!!!

Tomar: Thank you so much. I did ask before and she dismissed it. Not sure why but I was not complaining about her heart racing. Just asking about it because heard it was better. The pulmicort is working so much better though. Not fun.

Candi: I missed that DD has asthma. I'm very sorry. I was taking singulair for awhile and it did not like me. I am glad it wasn't asthma with me.

thanks for the DL offers TP2...I never get them.

mky: didn't you say there is a good pizza place near you?
I remember talking about it when we flew out of Midway last August. I'd have to go tomato-less for me, but I love Chicago pizza!

TP2 - I seem to remember that you DID ask about Xopenex ...yes.....
I know that I had to switch Asthma meds or ,I was climbing the walls with my heart racing ....:sad2:
My thoughts and prayers are for the little princess to get better soon !!!:littleangel:

TP2 - sorry the poor child is suffering so much.

My DD is doing fine. They gave her a puffer to use before gym and that should help her. They also gave her a new perscription for Singular which worked well for her in the past.

Stay well everyone.

Hiya everyone,

Wow, missed alot too. Sorry. We are all such an unhealthy bunch.

Candi, Remember she needs to take the singulair daily. It does take a while to make a change. Hang in there. The inhaler will help with activity.

TP2, Ooo Noooooooo the flu. H1N1? Any flu, the biggest problem usually is pneumonia. So be careful. If she is resting alot in bed, make her sit up in a chair for a while, or keep changing sides while lying down. You don't want inactivity [which is what she will feel like doing]. You want to keep changing your lung positions. Left side, to right side. sit up lay down. etc...... . Pneumonia is a nice quiet disease & likes a nice quiet enviroment. Someone with a "good" cough > does not usually get pneumonia. So they usually restrict cough syrup's. Keep the other girls at a distance. Flu, can go through the whole house in no time. Lots of lysol. ;)
Not sure why your md, doesn't like xopenex. It is a refined albuterol, took out alot of the albuterol problem parts. It is way expensive in comparison, thou. Some people think the xopenex isn't as effective as albuterol. Its kinda a debate at work. :confused3 One thing to try: :wizard: if she really is having problems with the treatments: Slow it down. Try to have her breath the mist slower. If she still has issues > turn it off and wait for 5 to 10 minutes then continue > then if it starts getting bad again > stop wait a few minutes till better > and restart >> keep doing this till she finishes the dose. Might be worth a try.:confused3

EE22, not sure about pizza without tomatoes / sauce on it. No, nothing near us we have to go into chicago for it. We like "geno's" pizza. Best one is downtown chicago. Have you ever been to woodfield mall? It is out past o'hare airport. http://www.shopwoodfield.com/ this place is giant. Not quiet mall of america but definately the largest in Illinois. They don't have repeating stores like mall of america. And also has a giant macy's. Its a little out of the way. But all highway driving. [sometimes not a good thing around here]. Just another option. :wizard:

Tomar, thank you. I know you went through alot. We are definately into some of the same problems here.

Hope everyone starts feeling better soon. Turkey day is fastly approaching. Have a great thursday.

mky:cutie:

Question time :goodvibes

We got a note home that DS can get the H1N1 shot tomorrow at the high school... The old question - should I have him get the shot or not????

Thanks for any thoughts on this!!!!

EE22 - I also can't have anything tomato based. The best I've had is olive oil and cheese - great combo!

Hope everyone is feeling better soon :wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard:

Minnie...have to pass that one off to mky. I'm not sure. Many kids now here are getting it as their parents don't want them to get it and it's still going around.

Mky...just had to chuckle at the pnemonia because how on Earth did I get it at WDW:laughing:...I sure wasn't in active and I had one nasty cough!! I know the answer to that of course...NO SLEEP!! I'll check out that mall. I wanted something without traffic. I'm not good in traffic...I still feel the horrors of living near Detroit for the first half of my life! Fox Valley is on the edge of all that mess! I thought about Gurnee Mills outlet, but that highway turns into a parking lot in a flash.

Hang in there with your mom, mky.
TP2...I hope DD is getting better.
Tomar...good luck with the tooth.
Candi...I hope DD is doing better.

MKY: You are spot on. Just got the info a bit late. Took DD5 to hospital Wednesday night and just got home. She had pnemonia in both lungs, flu, bladder infection, and was dehydrated. She was in bad shape. They gave the xopenex. I think the cost is a factor. My insurance is taking it off the preferred drug list as of January 1. Thank god we have more than one type of insurance. We have another that pays 80% of our out of pocket expenses. Been a fun week. I am exhausted. To anyone that is not sure...GET THE VACCINE!!!! If I can find it DD8 will get it without thinking twice. This was a brutal illness and all the steroids they had to shoot into her was frightening. She is on the road and happy to be home. Keeping her oxygen level up has been a battle. Have a home machine for that now. The nurses in the hospital said I should get a job because I know how to work all the machines now and when to call for extra help.:headache: That was not something on my to do list!

Hope everyone has a great Turkey day. Looks like we will be home with a party of 5! Just glad we will all be together.

TP2...I'm so sorry! I hope she continues to improve. I will keep her in my prayers. I'm convinced more than ever that's what I got down in Disney World with how sick I became and how long it took me to recover.

TP2- ...OMG !..I am soooo sorry that The little Princess has pneumonia as well as the other things...so glad that you had her in in the hospital...you have gone through the mill and back it seems this week ...yes..:hug:My thoughts are prayers are with you and the family this week...
Im soooo glad that she was given the Xopenex..her heart won`t be racing while she gets better at least :littleangel:
I know that you guys will be home alone for thanksgiving...but ...yes...you will be together....My DS got the Chicken Pox one year .....On Christmas Eve !:scared1:....We were all dressed to go to my Aunt`s house for dinner...when I noticed my son`s stomach was full of red blotches....so that was it for Christmas with the family, for that year:upsidedow....we did have a nice time with just the 4 of us (sans the itchy chicken pox:rolleyes1)...we played monopoly and scrabble, and celebrated being ....quarenteened !! LOL
I hope you get to catch up on some sleep....I suspect you were up 24/7 for a while this week TP2 .....And....I pray that the Princess gets better soon. :flower3:pixiedust:

Hiya everyone,

TP2, I returned your email, hope it helps. hang in there. You guys are great parents, and taking great care of those girls. I agree, you should become a nurse. Its the nuturing thing. :thumbsup2

Absolutely, anyone who can get the flu shot or h1n1 shot >> GET THE SHOT!!!! H1N1, has a great potential to make people very sick. You do not want to take that chance. Get the shot.

EE22, If there is a germ in 600 ft. it will find you. ;)

Today is mom's b-day. She was pretty good today too.

mky:cutie:

Tomar: I remember that story about the chicken pox. I am actually okay with it. We were supposed to have 20 people for dinner, we were all looking forward to it but we will have a great day anyway. I just have to find out if my parents can come. They may be all alone and I would hate that.

Yes, 24/7 with no sleep since Sunday evening. 20 minutes here, 40 minutes there. One night our nurse was someone I know from school. Her daughter and DD11 are friends. She was so good to us. She made sure to come to the room before the iv bells would ring. I got like 5 hours of much needed sleep that night.

Happy to be home. I guess the adrenaline gets you through it all. I got home and lost it. All the stress and lack of sleep all hit at the same time.

Thanks again for all the support. You guys are the best.:grouphug:
