TOMAR - We LOVE SSR too! It's hard to motivate us to try other resorts b/c we really love it there! Like most DVC owners, we're not big on using pts for Fri/Sat nights. We'd rather pay $. That's the reason we move to a deluxe..... We figure, why not if we're paying OOP anyway? I'm VERY excited to try CR for the first time this year!

Hey ....... I have a question for you seasoned Dis-veterans ....... How many "outfits" do you pack per person/per day? DH is fussing about the amount I have sorted out to pack, but I'd rather have an extra outfit or two (especially extra undies!) than run short! I know we have the W/D at SSR, but I'd rather not spend my entire vacation doing

Mouseaddicts....I hear ya about the laundry !!!!
I always overpack...(take extra outfits )....in hopes that I might NOT do laundry....then I look at it after a few days....and realize that I`m a creature of habit...that`s for sure...and so ...I wash !!! LOL
Did you request any particular area of SSR ?...The new Granstand looks beautiful!!! They have a new Pool and play spray area for the Kiddies !

Mouseadditcs, I pack extra undies for me and a few extra tops for DD. She seems to have the biggest problem staying clean. Usually I throw in 2-3 extras for the two of us. DH and DS don't care, but they also are in Quest or the room a lot more than we are so aren't in the blazing heat like we are.

EE22, yes we have gotten some rain here too. You must of sent it. It is starting to dry up now and get humid again. Going to back to the 90's tommorrow.

mouseaddicts, I plan 2 outfits a day. If we are going to the park in the morning, then swim / rest and put the 2nd outfit on. For our days, I will have to do laundry at least once, usually twice, once in a while 3 times. I usually way overpack, and then keep wearing the same 3 outfits over and over again. This year, I am testing shirts and short now, and making mental note if its going or not. I am so tired of hauling stuff and then not even taking it out of suitcase. Makes it easier not cruising, this time cause we don't need any dresses, or dressier outfits. As far as underwear or socks, I bring about 14, to last a week.
Yes we are going (kinda) for christmas. We aren't allowed to vac over the holidays ever, at the hospital. So next best thing. > We are going Nov 21 (day before thanksgiving) to aug 7th! I know it is a short trip for us. We have been this time period before but not for 2 years? Excited about the holiday stuff.

Tomar, I was cruising the ap site (finally got in) and got a great price on the ssr 1br. =255.00. The okw is also available, but bwv only had studios. Bcv & wlv =nothing available. The ssr sounds nice, but we didn't want to switch resorts this trip either. Now, I am second thinking that. You all sound so happy there.

VMK chloe, have a great time and be careful driving. I see your from Indiana. Are you north or south? We are from south of chicago, (joliet) and have a 3 -4 hr drive just getting out of Illinois. Are you driving straight through? We usually stopped about Dalton, Ga that is about 12hrs from here. Or we go straight through. Have a wonderful time!

TP2, Have a great time, in Niagra! It is truely beauitful.

Thanks! Yeah, I'm from east central Indiana.. about 45 minutes east of Indianapolis. Yes, we are driving straight through. We are going to purposely not get much sleep thursday night.. then sleep during the day.. and leave at 9 pm on Friday. we will drive overnight and arrive around 2 or 3 probably. Check into the hotel, go take a nap for a couple of hours.. then we are going to DTD and then getting back before too late to go to sleep.. so we can get up Sunday morning and get to MK.

MKY- Yes I love my Home Resort...it is lovely...and I would recommend it highly
If you are fond of DTD..and you DO make a ressie...I will tell you that "Congress Park" is facing DTD (our favorite view )...the "Springs"...is closer to the Carriage House and check-in...High Rock springs Pool (the main themed pool)...and "Artist Pallette" and the "Turf
Club" Restaurants.....then there`s the Paddock...the carrosel...and the "grandstand"....the Grandstand is another very nice area (new) with another type of pool and pool bar...
These are all the different areas... so that if you might want to make a ressie....you have a heads up !!

I know what you mean! For us, it will depend on how many "cans of steam" the youngest DD & DS have left by that time of the day! That's our little family phrase for our energy level at WDW ..... DS starts the day by telling me "Mom, I have a MILLION cans!" By about 10:00 - 11:00 PM, I hear "I only have about 5 cans left mommy."

We go back to the resort pretty much every day for rest/swimming/etc. to get a break, so they last longer than normal ... but we're usually worn out by Friday!

yeah that's pretty much what we are planning on doing.. even though we have no kids. lol

Tomar - we requested DTD view this time. We've cruised through there with the kids on spring break (just stopped @ the gift shop/food court) and checked out the Grandstand. The kids weren't too wild about the new pool area, so we opted not to request that area this time.

MKY - I would 2nd Tomar's recommendation to at least try SSR. We absolutely LOVE it! It's quite different from CR/Poly ... much quieter area. We totally love the gift shop/counter service food area ... There are 5 of us & we squeeze into a 1BR (this is the last year getting away with that!) ... $255 sounds like a GREAT deal for a 1BR!!! I'd book it!

So - do you drive to WDW instead of fly? If so, you pretty much drive right by us! DH is probably in Dalton as I'm typing this ... he's on the way home from taking step-DD to meet his parents in TN (she lives in IN) to go home ... and she comes back here on Friday so we can go to the world! Crazy, huh? I have no idea why she didn't just stay! Her mom, I guess.

VMK Chloe ... you are a day ahead of us leaving! We'll be there by lunch on Saturday. Are you going to DTD Sat night? We have ressies @ Ragland Road Saturday.

mouseaddicts, sorry no we are flying this year. Last time we drove was 2000? It is just such a haul from here. But I like having our own car there. Maybe someday.

Tomar, thanks for the info. Sis says "up to you" but I know it is not her choice to move. I really like the thought of the tub and washer / dryer. Oh well, maybe next year.

I'll day dream about you guys all packing tomorrow. I have class My friend backed out on me too so I'm all alone it's very elementary like too so I could be in for a couple of long days They do give us lunch and one of the days a couple weeks ago was good so I'm hoping

I don't want to go!!!!!

Last time they moved my seat on the second day and I felt like I was a bad student

well, we are leaving a day ahead... but we wont be there till about 2 to 4 on Saturday since we are driving. yes we are going to DTD.. no reservations. We are going to be silly and go do miniature golf at fantasia gardens and do a little walking around and some shopping. We are only eating at 2 ADR's... the rest will be counter service. 1 is on Sunday at Crystal Palace, at 2:20 pm.. late lunch. We will stuff ourselves since it's a buffet so we won't really probably want more than one big meal that day. Then the other is at 50s prime time at MGM around the same time on the 3rd. We are on a tight budget this trip, unfortunately. Very tight! So every way we can save money we are.

But anyway, I'm getting so excited! It's funny how when we started planning it 6 months ago, it seemed so far away and was never gonna get here. Now we are 4 days from leaving.. and I'm overwhelmed with all that I have left to get done before we leave, like how am I ever gonna get it all done in that amount of time?!?! lol

Yep, I'm working on packing. We will fill up the car the day we leave, yes we have maps and a cooler. My hubby is changing the oil in the car tomorrow night.. e's already done everthing else. He is the manager of an autoparts store so that makes it nice. Anything else I might be forgetting? I'm overwelmed with getting ready!!

This may be a really silly question.. but I am wondering if anyplace sells items for pets? We don't have any kids to bring souvenirs back to.. but we have two dogs! So, I figured we should bring them back something!
