Mickeywho?: Thanks so much for info on parking. 3 nights is $60 and that is a lot of money for us. We try to budget by eating pizza and takeout. I have coupons for everything, only way we can really live the life we do but the parking is killing me.

So glad to hear about what everyone is up to. Been so busy here. School just ended today for us. We had an after school party, a birthday party, and an after hours party. I am shot. I just got a Ding! so I am going to check it. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

I live about 45 minutes away from Niagara so maybe I can help.
Most of the hotels charge for parking - price varies - I know it's crazy but true. When we go to Clifton Hill (restaurants, shopping, amusement area)we like to park in the ground level lot behind Planet Hollywood. As far as I know it's the only free parking around. Everything is a close walk from there. If you park inside any of the parking garages there is a charge.
To go to the Falls you must drive further along the parkway where you will see parking lots along a park area. Not sure what they charge - but I think I remember $5-$10.
I highly recommend Butterfly Conservatory - tons of fun - the will land all over you! Plus the drive there is very nice - all parkland, great views, a few nice places to stop for pictures etc.
You'll need a day for Marineland on it's own so keep that in mind for planning.
HTH! Have fun!
PS - change you money at a bank on the US side. Any of the canadian business will give you an exchange rate but it's a real ripoff!

Thank you so much for all of this. I really appreciate it. I have all kinds of notes and I am going to add this.

VMK: I have been a wreck all day trying to get all of our paperwork together. I was at the post office go get a passport receipt. They took my original birth certificate and iat will take 2 weeks before I can get proof that they are doing my passport. The whole thing is a mess. I called Canadian customs and the person who answered knew my question before I could even ask it. It has been a stressful day. Things are better now.

Gotta catch up tomorrow.

Are you there on the 3rd or 4th?
I still am in awe of those fireworks from last year.

I too must hit the hay...or my teenagers will not go to sleep and DS has football in the morning. I do not like football. Only 3 more seasons.:cheer2:

Unfortunately, no. We check in CR on the 5th ... I have planned to watch the fireworks from our balcony on the 6th & probably 7th too! We are such an insane family that we actually like being in the MK on the 4th!

Football/cheerleading starts right after we get back here. I'm coaching again this year! :cheer2:

Okay - I read the couple pgs I missed, so I think I'm up to speed now ... :goodvibes

mickeywho - I see you're a fellow SSR owner  Hope you enjoy your 1st trip home in Feb '08! We LOVE :cloud9: SSR. We requested a DTD view this time ..... we'll see what we get. We were pleasantly surprised with the food court (loosely use that term!) last year ..... this year,we plan to eat there MORE! The food is a lot better than "typical" counter service!

TOMAR - what are your dates this year? Are you staying at SSR again???

Chloe- we do plan to go to the EMH at MK on the 1st. We're eating dinner at 1900 Park Fare princess: that night at 8:30 & then headed to MK. We've never been to 1900, so we're looking forward to it.

MKY - sent you a PM ...... are you going in Aug & again at Christmas??? We really want to do a Christmas trip, but it looks like that will have to wait at least 1 more year!

EE22- I PROMISE to take pics this time if we get to meet up with Chloe ... and in Sept with MKY!!! That is still such a "duh" moment!!!
Hey - what are your dates next year? We're actually thinking of booking AKV next year instead of SSR, but haven't made a decision yet.

TP2 - I would love to go to Niagra Falls! That's where my parents went on their honeymoon ..... but we've never been. We should plan a trip there one day ...... when I'm not planning multiple trips to the world!!! :rotfl:

we will be at MK for EMH on the 1st also. Don't know how late we will be there.. but we will be there.. especially seeing how they are open till 3 am that night!

Mouseaddicts: We are thinking around the 20th or so next summer in June. We can't wait. It will be a long haul till we get back, but at least we are going.

Okay -

:

This year we are staying at Saratoga...without a split stay...and I am so happy about that !! :goodvibes For the last couple of years its been 1 week at the BWV or the BCV...and one week at SSR
No moveing in the middle of vacation this year:thumbsup2 .... DH adores his Home Resort  anyway....;)
We`ll be at the world...the last week of July !:dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

This will be the weirdest think I've ever written, but I'm so very glad we did not go to Disney this summer. I'm reading about all the people getting moved from AKL. I would have had a panic attack and a half. It would have done me in. I suppose I could have asked to move to the Grand though:rotfl: I missed out on that when we moved to AKL.

And, it pushed DH into buying DVC since he misses the World so much this summer.

PACK, PACK, PACK.
don't iron...

You know...you should pm mouseaddicts and ask her where to watch the fireworks on the 3rd at MK. She's always there and might have a good idea for you. They really are incredible and shouldn't be missed, but I get the crowd thing.

Hey y'all ....... guess what I'm doing ........

:laundy: :laundy: :laundy:

it's so much fun :scared: .... oh well, at least I know the world is near! :cool1:

I guess it's what - 6 days now? We'll be there Saturday! We don't check in at SSR until Sunday. We plan to go to Fantasia Gardens Saturday afternoon. We've never been there & I hear good things about it. A group of friends played during the conference I attended back in March & all loved it!

TOMAR - We LOVE :cloud9: SSR too! It's hard to motivate us to try other resorts b/c we really love it there! Like most DVC owners, we're not big on using pts for Fri/Sat nights. We'd rather pay $. That's the reason we move to a deluxe..... We figure, why not if we're paying OOP anyway? :confused3 I'm VERY excited to try CR for the first time this year!

Hey ....... I have a question for you seasoned Dis-veterans ....... How many "outfits" do you pack per person/per day? DH is fussing about the amount I have sorted out to pack, but I'd rather have an extra outfit or two (especially extra undies!) than run short! I know we have the W/D at SSR, but I'd rather not spend my entire vacation doing :laundy:

I know what you mean! For us, it will depend on how many "cans of steam" the youngest DD & DS have left by that time of the day! That's our little family phrase for our energy level at WDW ..... DS starts the day by telling me "Mom, I have a MILLION cans!" By about 10:00 - 11:00 PM, I hear "I only have about 5 cans left mommy." :rotfl:

We go back to the resort pretty much every day for rest/swimming/etc. to get a break, so they last longer than normal ... but we're usually worn out by Friday!
