Hope you all had a great weekend. very busy here. Did alot of xmas shopping this weekend. Since we won't be a rouns much.

No big deal I stole it from someone on the parks board. I can't wait to see that. OR, We haven't seen the osbourne lights since they where on the golden girls house etc.. . Now you should be able to see them better (higher up). There is also supposed to be a special gospel choir sing xmas songs at the beaty n beast stage. Very excited to try out Your saratoga springs too.
This is going to be a long week at work.

Hi everyone

Gotta question for you all....

I'm heading down to Orlando for work and will have 1 evening free before I have to fly back home the next morning so I'm planning on staying on-site to take advantage of EMH at Epcot.

I've narrowed it down to the following resort choices. Please help me pick one....

ASMu - AP rate for $90 (includes tax)

Pro - Never stayed there or looked around so new experience. Supposed to be the quietest and recently renovated of the values.

Con - Further away from Epcot and the MK area where I plan to eat breakfast. And no hot tub. Outside corridor - will it be safe for a woman traveling alone?

POFQ or other mod - AP rate for $140

Pro - POFQ closer to Epcot/MK area than the values.

Con -Stayed at POFQ before, outside cooridor (again will safety be an issue)

AK - AP rate of $205

Pro - Inside cooridor and hot tub!

Con - Furthest away from Epcot and MK area. Stayed there before.

WLV - AP rate for $264

Pro - Inside cooridor and hot tub! Favorite resort feel very comfortable and safe there.

Con - Stayed there before and I'll be back to stay for a week in December.

BWV or BCV - AP rate for $275

Pro - Close to Epcot w/ inside corridors. Hot tubs! Never stayed at BW.

Con - Stayed at BC before. More expensive.

Poly - AP rate for $350

Pro - Inside cooridor and nice pool. Planning to eat breakfast there and Captain Cook's has Dole Whip!

Con - No hot tub, further from Epcot and expensive.

Need to make a decision quickly as time is running out. Thanks again!

Hi minnie,

for a 1 nite alone trip = i would pick a resort near epcot. Since that is your main focus makes sense. I personally prefer BC to BW, but either one that apeals to you is fine. I always travel with just sis and have never felt unsafe on property. Just keep your wits about you and you will be fine.

When is your trip? If it is the first part of dec. be careful of the cheerleader groups in the all stars.

Minnie: I have to agree with MKY. Definately stay at an Epcot resort. I would say Beach Club as it is the closest to the entrance of Epcot. For one night, you should splurge. You will be so happy that you did.

MKY: Have a wonderful trip. I am about ready to go back now, as is the rest of my clan. DH keeps talking about February (can you believe it). I think it is so funny. DD9 said she will go as long as she does not get sick. We are NOT going in February. I checked flights and they are way too expensive. I would need some sort of wonderful deal but I doubt there will be any discounts then. Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving, I know you will have a wonderful holiday.

Hiya everyone!

Did alot today. I was off and work sat, sun, mon then I am off! Did the banking, iron'd, sorted stuff, haircut, and did last minute walgreens stuff. Think I am ready to pack with not too big a deal. Decided on not getting another shot before we go. Will probably need one when get back, but it was sore about a week after shot & It still feels pretty good. Hope I made the right decision. We are very nervous about Ohare airport, on wednesday before thanksgiving. They keep talking about air travel on the news here, how many people traveling, etc... . I hope we don't have problems.

Is everyone ready for thanksgiving? Got your birds? Anyone put your tree up? I wanted to do ours before we go, but got voted down. Might be treeless this year? I still have my (year round) mickey little tree from MK last year.

Yep, think we are ready. Bring on disney. mky

On the tree...since we will be gone over Christmas I put up a 4 foot tree from Walmart that is fiberoptic just so we wouldn't be treeless too I bought some mini ornaments, some red bows and some of the Mickey head garland from online that's sold at the Disney Store. Works for me and keeps DD happy. I just can't do the decorations if DH and DS being gone too about taking stuff down.

MKY: Have a wonderful trip. I hope O'Hare works out for you. Just get there early. I didn't realize you were traveling on Wednesday. You will be fine. I am really so excited for you.

Trying to come up with a shopping list for Thanksgiving. I am going tomorrow. We have 14 adults and 5 kids coming, not too bad. We should all be able to sit for dinner instead of a buffet.

No tree yet. I have to wait until after Thanksgiving for that. We have a 9 1/2 foot tree and it takes up too much space. We would never have room to sit for dinner. The idea of a small tree sounds so appealing. This thing take up so much room in the attic, you have not idea. I want life to be simpler, need to start by getting rid of some stuff.

MKY - have a great trip. I too hope all goes well at the airport.

My mom had her surgery moved up and it is now Monday. She is feeling a bit anxious but worried is not the right description. Say a little prayer for her for me.

I am going to see if I can pick up a turkey for Christmas tomorrow over in Detroit. Anyone know of a large chain that has them on sale? Are turkeys are amost $2 a pound over here.

Things are getting exciting. I got cancelled at the hospital today, (too many rn's and not enough kids) But a on - call for emergencies > for another hour. Than I am officially on vacation.

So far sis packed yesterday. She was off the weekend and is now working till wed. I did small things so far today> just in case I get called. I called wdw-dine to switch a few things > but was mostly booked solid and no play room. So be ready and cover yourselves with adr's. That yak & yeti opened looks kinda neat. No adr's thou till jan, only walkups so hoping to catch that. The other new choice is tusker house but sis does not like buffets, and there food has never been a fav to her. So won't push that. I am lucky I got crystal palace & hollywood &vine in.

Tomar is there any room service at the SSR? I have not found anything, so I am guessing no. Mky loves room service. Usually my back up plan.

Candi, Hope your mom is doing well. Sending pixie dust too.

EE, thanks now I don't feel guilty about the tree situation. We will get a little one (baby) for our hotel room. mky loves to decorate. Hope you have all your chicago plans ready. You will have a great time. Sorry we won't be able to meet up with the holidays and working. We are not allowed to use any personal time or vac. time during the 2 weeks of holidays > so will be working through.

TP2, keep your fingers crossed, he sounds like he has converted. You all won him over. Glad you girls are doing better. And forgiving wdw for there aug. trip.

Well 45 min to go on call. And I have been sneezing all morning. I ate a couple vit. C and I better not be getting sick again.

Me and Mr. Tomar, love room service too. ..but that is the one thing SSR doesn`t offer .... the Artist`s Palatte is just a walk away...and...they have great great food !!
I hope you enjoy Saratoga Springs MKY...can`t wait to hear all about it !!

Mine is now at my uncle's and coming along nicely. What an ordeal for her.

I have to ask everyone, DD7 got the Hannah Montanna doll for her birthday. Of course the first thing they do is strip these dolls and she has on thong underwear. What do I do about that???Does the doll get lost while she is in school? They already saw her bottem so I don't know if it is pointless now. I am shocked that a Disney item is fashioned this way.

TP2...I can only think of the time they made Teacher Barbie with no underwear. That was all over the news I guess I wouldn't make a big deal out of it with her. I always like low-key myself. DD14 hates "butt floss" and thinks it's nasty so we're all good here I beleive you can gently lead them in the correct direction if you play it down a tad. I hate all of the styles that are out there now for girls anyway and I'm lucky that DD is very modest.

I need to keep the kids around so I know what future slang is too...I'm already getting so out of touch with things.
