MKY: So glad to hear about the trip. Seems like you did better this time than last. I would love to get in on that bounce back offer. Too bad I was unable to book while we were there in August. Can't wait to see your pictures.

Girls are doing better but it seems that they all have a cold now. I guess that is how it works. I am still getting used to the whole Asthma thing but I think I am getting better at it.

EE22: Glad to hear about your mom.

Tomar: Thanks for the well wishes.

Enjoy the season everyone. We have an elf visiting until Christmas Eve, then Santa will come and take him back to the North Pole. The girls are all bouncing off the walls this year.

Montel Williams is visiting DD9 class today with Hallmark. They are writing letters to the troops in Iraq. Very exciting day for her. We have to Tivo it because everyone is at work. Hope she gets a shot on TV.

MKY - sounds like it was a good trip. Can you share the pictures with me as well. I would love to see more of the parks this time of year. It makes me want to go.

My mom is doing wonderfully. Her stitches (on the outside) were taken out a while ago and now the internal stitches are starting to let go and the scar is starting to lay flat.

I am sorry to hear about the kids getting sick. There is so much going around here right now.

How long does everyone get off work for the holidays? I have a few vacation days left so my last day of work will be the 18th and then I don't go back until Jan 2!  Sometimes it is good to work in the auto industry!

Who is the next one in the group to go to Disney?

Hiya everyone!

Glad you guys got to see the pictures. Bad as we look.:confused3 Yes, Tomar my little sister looks like me. Everyone says that and yet, she is blue eyes, blonde hair, and is 6 inches taller.:rotfl: But; We sound identical with our voices. We have always been close. So we can gang up on our older sister.
Tomar, is the princess coming up for the holidays, or you guys going down? How did your burn turn out?

EE22, Hope your eye and foot problems start repairing. You are sooooo right about the terrible weather your sending this way.

TP2, I sent you the email. Hope the girls get better before the holidays. My asthma is getting screwed up with this cold too. Lots of asthma at work.

Candi, I sent you a pm. I wished the guidance counselor in high school would of told me about the terrible hours and working holidays if your a nurse. :scared1: I might of thought about being an accountant. I am working xmas eve and off this year xmas day. Then I work 3 to 11:30 new years eve and 7am > 3:30 new years day. I made a trade for someone to work thanksgiving for me, so i am working ny eve for her. Then next year i will work xmas day & new year eve, it rotates every year. We are forbidden to vacation the holiday week at all.

It has been raining here all day and now it is freezing up. I miss florida.:cool2: I think my counter is at 232 days.:rotfl2:

mky:cutie:

MKY - I sent you an email with my email address.

Too bad you have to work during the holidays, but it is angles like you that keep the world going during that time. It must be far more rewarding to be in health care than it is to push car parts out the door.

The disadvantages to working in the auto industry are all over the news right now. It is very unstable work most of the time...but I have been doing this for so long now, the don't know any other way really.

Now cutting grass, that was a great job. I was the green cutter for a very well known private club here in this area when I was in college. It was the best job I ever had but didn't pay much. I would never be able to afford Disney on a greens keepers salary.

Two weeks till Christmas and we finally put the tree up today. I let the kids put almost all the decorations on this year :scared1: :scared1: It took nerves of steel since I have a lot of hand blown glass, German hand painted glass....:scared1: :scared1: You get the idea. But I needed to get it done, so I decided which ones to put on and let them have at it.

My collection of Disney ornaments is growing. It is tradition to buy a new one each year. I added the cruise ornament this time.

We just need to tie the tree in place in case the 16 month old cat tries to climb it.

It has been pouring rain here today and windy but not freezing yet. We had freezing rain on Sunday but not like the US got.

My counter is at 86 days. Am I the next one to go?

Jo

Good Morning Guys !:surfweb:
Candi- I give you alot of credit in handing over those precioius ornaments to the kiddies Im sure thay knew how to be careful with them....as they mean so much to mom ;) :cloud9: ....but I know how you feel..as we only put a little tree up this year with pink and white bows and dryed roses (a victorian MINI tree ;) )
I have collected many many precious ornaments down the years as well...but this year I just wasn`t up to it !:headache:
Yes Candi your next to go to the world !!! YAAY !! :woohoo: :woohoo::woohoo:
EE22 and I have to be making our ADR`S very very soon now too !!:yay: :yay:

MKY- Thank you for asking about the Princess...you were in the world when she was DXed with MONO...She is feeling much better now...but the kids won`t be able to come to New Jersey...and she really can`t be exposed to alot of people at this time....Im sick over it...but we just sent her a HUGE box full of Christmas Presents...and hope to make up the visit soon !!:cloud9: princess:

TP2- Hope the girls are feeling better !!

EE22- I know you`ve been having a bad time of it with the storm out there in the Field of Dreams.....Please be careful !!!!

Everyone is doing better here. DD7 is back on Singulair, making a huge difference.

Hope everyone else gets better before the holidays.

MKY: So sorry to hear that you have to work this year. That really stinks. Even next years schedule stinks. I hope you get overtime for that, it kindof takes out some of the sting.

Gotta run, we are getting a storm and I have no milk. Kids may be home early today.

Hi everyone!

I am pretty used to working all the holidays. You get used to it. But no we make no overtime money for holidays. It is the same as weekend pay. A 10% increase over regular. If you call in, you have to work it next year. It is usually kinda nice xmas eve or day. I dislike ny's thou.

Tomar, so sorry to hear about the princess. Hope she is doing better. Mono does take a while to get over. Lots of rest.

Candi, I think you will be the next one to do disney. We are not going on the cruise this year. We opted to change and take the nephew down in august. Max will return to wdw again, 08'.

EE22, fabulous pictures of the ice storm. We got some of it, but not near as much. It is snowing right now and supposed to all day tommorrow.

TP2, Glad your girls are doing better. Singulair is strange. I take it, and think this is doing nothing > so I stopped and got sick. :confused3 Hang in there.:wizard:

We got 2 small trees this year, and I didn't bring out my treasured disney ornaments either. No time. Still getting over my cold, and recovering from the trip. I am soooooooooooo tired of explaining why 2 single women would vacation at wdw. My last answer was "you, obviously haven't been there". There is 1 picu md really giving me a hard time about it. Says we should travel the world .... ... . I guess cause he is from nigeria? World traveler?

Well, hope everyone has a great weekend. Happy Planning, mky:cutie:

MKY...DH and I get a lot of grief going to WDW too so don't feel bad. Wait till we are childless and go. DD and DS are made fun of too...especially DS. I have no desire to see any world beside our World ;) Be glad they don't get it...less people is what I always remember!

TP2, I hope your family is all well by the time Santa comes. Good luck with the storm! YIKES!!

Candi...your trip will be here before you know it!!

I have to make it 5 more days and we'll be good to go.

Last week about did me in. We lost power late afternoon on Tuesday and it came on around 8 pm and then went off again around 10:30 pm after we went to bed. We didn't have power all night. We had a late arrival and I had to be to work at 9:30 with a very bad Hair Day!! Dh and I had to bail the sump pump pit AGAIN!! just like last March. The plumber didn't install the back up system correctly and it didn't work:sad2: The first time we bailed...I carried water for 45 minutes. Not good on the foot either. We didn't get power till 2 pm on Wednesday and then we lost it again Wed night around 11:30 pm so we had to bail again, but it did come back on during the night. I was sitting here in the dark Wednesday night and I decided there was no way I was going to work Thursday if we had to bail every two hours again all night long. I'd drop the kids and school and I'd come home and sleep!!

The week before I had conferences and more issues with my eye:rolleyes: I had an eyelash growing into my eye this time. My eye is still not right and very sensitive to light.

:hourglass :hourglass So...I'm so ready for a break!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:santa:

Tomar...we are almost to ADR time. New Year's Eve is my date!

EE22: You did NOT have a good week last week. It can only get better. At least you have ADR's to look forward to.

DD9's class was just on the Montel Williams show. If you guys get the show in your area make sure you tune in. He is giving away tins of prizes for the holidays. Her girlfriend was actually on the show and met with him. Same girl DD sits with on the bus everyday. Very exciting.

MKY: Just ignore people and feel sorry for them that they don't feel it. I hear it too, about going every year. So many people don't plan the trip and just go and wind up spending $7000 to take their family for a week. You just can't plan a trip that way. They think we spend that kind of money but of course we don't. Generally we spend 1/2 that with air and stay 2 weeks. I used a picture from our trip last year and it has Minnie, Mickey, and Goofy in it with the girls, no one has commented. They think I am crazy too!:santa:

MKY- Trust me.....after a while, people will just stop asking you where your going on vacation.. as they do us.....Our extended family has stopped asking for years now...and they just say...."They`ve gone to Florida"...LOL.. I used to actually give them a look ...like...."Are you Kidding?"...your asking me again ?:rolleyes1 ..ROTFL "Don`t bother"...HeeHee....;)

the Perfectly Princess princess: is getting better and better every day ! thank Goodness.:cloud9: .and thank you all for asking :grouphug:

We`re having a horrible wind event here today...I hope our roof stays put !!:scared1:
I had to chase the Christmas bow that was on our mailbox..down the block this morning :scared:

TP2- When is the MW show airing ?...You didn`t mention the time and channel...;)

EE22- A couple of more weeks now...we`ll be making our Ressies for Dinners at the
World !!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAHOOOOOOOOO !!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Well Guys ...looks like this is the Crunch week for getting all last minute gifts and things done before the big day !!:santa:
Hope everyone has a great week !!!!

Tomar: So happy to hear that PP is doing better. :thumbsup2
We had the wind too, yesterday and today. I did see a roofing shingle on our front porch. We are planning on having the roof replaced but we are waiting for the job to get done. I think now we have to wait for the weather to cooperate.
As for MW, it aired locally at 10:00am on Fox but it changes based on where you live.

Good luck everyone getting done this week. I did most of my shopping online and had it shipped to my mom. I was just checking and she should be getting 9 boxes today. She is going to kill me.:santa: All for the kids too. I am busy throwing things out and deciding on what I can donate. Have to make room for new stuff.:rolleyes1

Enjoy the week everyone. I am busy trying to figure a way to get back to WDW this year. I just can't control myself.:sad2:

Hi Everyone...:cloud9: I am on vacation now until January 2:cloud9: Mind you I have already checked my work email and called in to say Merry Christmas to the receptionist who was off sick yesterday. But I did it all in my pjs.

TP2 - I hope the roof holds out for you, if I remember correctly, it needs to be 40F for the shingles to seal...but they may have new products out now.

MKY - I find there are two types of people who don't understand WDW. One group doesn't get it but will take a simple explanation about how much fun it is. The second group are hard core Grumpies. For the hard core, the gloves are off. When they make horrible comments, I tell them "it is okay if you don't know how to have fun, there are lots of other vacation choices for you." Then they get all defensive and it is fun to watch them try to explain that they can have fun :lmao: Then no matter what argument they put force, I just keep telling them it is okay...I understand...it will drive them NUTS :scared: (this little face looks crazy to me not scared)

DD9 is home from school sick today. She has caught a bad cold.

We have finally dug ourselves out, for the most part. We got 25 cm of snow (10 inches) in about 18 hours so the roads have been bad and a lot of activities were cancelled. I did take the kids tobogganing last night since Katie only had a sore throat yesterday. :confused3 But hey we are Canadian and I do believe that the cold air can help to kill all the bugs going around, but we may have stayed a bit too long.:rolleyes1

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow....

Candi...I saw that lower Michigan was dumped on. I figured you got it as well. A lot of my family lives in the Detroit area. That's where I grew up. People in Iowa think that they get a lot of snow here...NOT!!! It's nothing like we had in MI and especially not what we had in the UP of Michigan!! Good luck. I hope your family is well now too for the holidays.

Hi Everyone: Just want to wish everyone a wonderful Christmas and New Year. Not sure if there will be time to stop in again. Hope Santa treats everyone well.:santa: :santa: :santa: :santa: :santa:

I was saved by Three Wise Men that pushed me out of a drifted street today. I was so lucky they came along when they did...of course, I was blocking the road;)

Merry Christmas Eve from the 72 degrees day here in Southern California!!

See whomever of you at WDW July 14-21!!

Hiya everyone!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

It warmed up here for xmas? 40 today. All the snow has melted that we had. Christmas eve at work was terrible. We get off at 3:30pm and I left at 5pm. not good. All week we had 5 kids on the unit and xmas eve we had 17. I was shocked. But things are much better today, i am off.;)

Hope everyone had a great time with there families. And hopefully everyone, is doing better now.

Sis, and I did alot of "planning" today. Going over dinning options. Don't think we will get in on the disney dining experience card next year. I do tip well, but I like the idea of it being, my idea. We are making plans for our adr's for august. I can't believe we are already planning that trip.

Anyone, else see the parade today? They must of photoshopped the sky, it was really gloomy that day it was filmed. :confused3

Have a great nite! mky:cutie:
