June/July/August 2006 Code watch

I know that for the last two years they have come out on this Wednesday, but for the last two years they came out on that first week in March...this year they were earlier.

So...if you look at the mousesaver history page, there are times when the codes come out DAYS (sometimes only 5) before the start of the code. Look at the release date and the date of first use. This even happened this year in January.

Alright, well pixie dust for codes tomorrow is the best I can offer...

Yea but Kinggoofy, you also thought it was going to be today and bet on it!!!!

Yes I did, and I am man enough to admit I was wrong. Trends dont lie. The trend, as others have confirmed, were for release TODAY.

As in betting on NFL, dont bet against the trend. OK, i was wrong...but in the long run, "a trend is your friend".

For those of you who wonder why CMs aren't nice.... read the tone on some of these posts... I figure the CM probably just got told off by someone with a "Disney owns me attitude"

(And Disney does NOT not give colds because they don't love you...try not to take it as a personal insult. It's a business decision. I am not saying if it's good or bad, but I have a feeling they know what they are doing. THey seem to make money and overall according to thier Annual statement room occupancy is up and discounts are down)

And here's another thought. I have never booked an AP rate on the release date. And I normally get just what I want a few weeks later.

You were looking at a trend for a discount code that was released in the past for July-August......

This year we are waiting for June/July/August....so, I don't know if the trend applies or not.

Like I've mentioned before....at one point in their "code release" history....Disney has waited until a week before the booking dates to release a code.

Back in 2003....released on 4/21 for 4/28 thru 7/3......

Since this switch over from BRP back to regular AP codes....we have seen:

AP Rates for 1/10 thru 1/15 released on 1/10
AP Rates for 1/16 thru 2/4 released on 1/10
AP Rates for 2/5 thru 2/15 released on 1/10
AP Rates for 2/16 thru 4/13 released on 1/10
AP Rates for 4/23 thru 6/3 released on 2/22

My opinion is that since they changed back from BRP to regular codes....they are breaking up the dates a little more and they are waiting a little longer before offering the rates.

I just can't see them offering an AP Rate for every day during the PEAK season in February thru April and not offer AP Rates for June or July.

They will come....imho.....

KingGoofy....don't you have your dog left to bet? Did you exclude the dog from the last bet? I would wager the dog to try to get your house back..... :)

Speed :teleport:

I just called to secure a non-smoking guaranteed room. I asked and she said there were no codes for mid-June...but that I could call back anytime and keep checking. Maybe they say that to everyone or maybe it's an indicator of good things to come?? :confused3 We shall see...

well we just swapped our trips around a little, the time that we paid for hotels and everything for disney in june it came out to be almost the same price in las vegas with flights...

so now we are going to las vegas in june and disney world in december. The hotel rooms are much cheaper the week we are going in december for disney then they will be in june

Speedyf....like i said earlier, you can have the house and DW..( she's more expensive anyways)

BUT the dog stays with me...no ifs, ands or buts !!!!!! ( LOL )

PS, thanks for the stats. very interesting

I just had a brilliant insight into our situation. Somethings been nagging at me regarding the pattern of posts I've seen since this thread opened and I finally pegged it. We are going through the traditional 5 stages of loss.

Heres what I mean....

DENIAL --- What's the first thing you do? You check the posts over and over again! And then do it some more. You may check to make sure that other forums might not have caught something this one didn't. "How could this possibly be."

ANGER --- "%$@^##& Disney!", "Why have you foresaken me!!." You slam your hand on the computer keyboard? . "I should have gone to Universal years ago." (I'd say a little paranoia starts to set in here too...at least for some of us)

BARGAINING --- "Oh please Disney, if you will just give me some AP codes, I promise not to ever say anything bad about you ever again...my beloved." You come up with all sorts of interesting theories about what is going and when Disney will come through.

DEPRESSION --- "Oh God, what am I going to do. I'll have to cancel my trip or worse yet, stay at the Nikki. I give up. I'm driving myself crazy for no good reason and I just cant take it anymore". This is when tempers begin to flare in posts and people seem to get a little short with one another

ACCEPTANCE --- "Ok. it's possible that there are not going to be any AP codes for my trip" and "can't we all just get along?" I am thinking that this is where a lot of us seem to be right now.

Well, ....let me know what you think...it's just a theory :rolleyes1

Ok, so if the AP rates are not out by Friday May 5th, I will go ahead and order our tickets which will be 7 day MYW with the park hopper option. Once I have done this I have NO DOUBT in my mind that AP rates will come out that instant. Several of you wonderful support group friends have assured me that I can stop at a park and upgrade my ticket prior to check in, correct? So get ready for Friday, 'cause I am SURE that they will come out! :rotfl: :cool1: :thumbsup2

HOLY MOLY BATMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOW!!!! BAM!!!!!!!!! POW!!!!!!! :badpc:
I left for work yesterday at 3pm.... this thread was on page 110.
Signed back on just now............and...........
WOW............PAGE 124!!!!!
At first when I saw page 124....... I thought... " This MUST be IT!!!"

But 14 pages of............ nothing! :sad2:

...So I called (Yet again) to see if the AP rates had come in. But instead of the usual, "Nothing is showing. You can try again tomorrow", the reservationist all of the sudden asked me for ALL of my info, including our Magical Gathering group number; asked to confirm our name, address and phone number, then asked us to hold on while she checked...COULD IT BE?!? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Then she got back on the line and remarked that she noticed that we had reserved our rooms with a AAA dicount card, then put me on hold again, stating that she was still checking.OH JOY party: And then, and THEN...and THEN...nothingArghhhh!!!. They NEVER asked me for my info before telling me no dates out yet. What gives? The only reason I even tried this evening is because my wife is going nuts calling each and every morning, and asked me to give it a try. Sigh...the battle continues.

This always has me curious. A couple of years ago, I booked the Beach Club forst at rack, then changed it to AAA, then to a public code that saved me $700! So they knew they had me solidly. And then, 3 weeks before my trip, I get a postcard that ended up saving me even more money.

Their occupancy as far as my booking was sealed with a nice discount, and they STILL sent me another discount. Why would they do that? They didn't have to entice me in order to fill up a low occupancy hotel, since they must have seen that I had a great discount.

I don't know if it's true that if levels are up, discounts are down. Summer of 2004, I called and called trying to get a CR tower room, but everything was booked for my week. I called everyday hoping for a cancellation, and sure enough, I got one. And I STILL got a code to use, for $75 off the nightly rate. The tower was filled to capacity, but there was still a code released.

For this July 4th week, I was able to recently book TWO tower rooms. Now, this is a prime time for guests going to WDW. Occupancy levels, at least for the CR tower, are down. Does that mean there will be a code released to help fill it?

I think the code business is a big mystery, and it's tons of fun analyzing, but for me the analysis hasn't made sense as far as marketing.

And so, I also rely on my gut and say that there will be both AP and public codes released for summer!
:wizard:

Disney is so large, they did not know what you had when you were offered the other discounts. It does not work that way. Your reservation was with the Reservations department, your discount code is sent by Marketing. Too entirely different entities and not necessarily two that work together that well at times. Marketing does not check to see if you are already booked with a discount prior to sending you an email code.

Also they don't analyze individual hotels such as the Contemporary tower, they analyze property wide. They won't release a discount that only covers the Contemporary.

You were lucky to get the discounts you did, but it had nothing to do with your prior bookings.

just called "no nothing yet" very nice cm. :) Really pulling for tommorrow, I am off and would be a great day, to not have to leave for work and worry about being late. :cheer2:

still watching :3dglasses & waiting. :hourglass

Thanks for flip flopping my theory and bursting my bubble! :rotfl:

Possibly ignorant, but vital question:
When can I start calling? I'd assumed it was 7a.m. eastern like dining, but there were posts on here earlier than 7 eastern this morning. Are you calling 407 WDisney or the passholder number - does it matter? Hoping for an answer because ISP is updating and whether I have connectivity in the morning is iffy - I may be DISless!

I was so sure today was the today - both because of all you were sure and because I would have no computer access for most of the day.

At 7am this morning I was driving through West Hartford on my way to a meeting in Danbury, giving a mental "Hello" to dreamsofdisney who I was sure was sitting in front of her computer looking at this thread. :wave2: After I got to Danbury, I found a chair, got out my cell phone, and called Disney. I was shocked when the very nice cm said "not yet".

We're not changing our reservations based on this, but I've got to figure out what I'm going to do about tickets. :confused3

It is 7 am EST.
Call either number
1-800-828-0228 is even better.
The time on the site is earlier because it's GMT...look at the clock at the bottom. I always get confused because I'm on central time and call at 6am for dining, et.
