June/July/August 2006 Code watch

LadyTramp - I go to www.aaa.com and in the "AAA Travel Wizard" box on the front page, click on the Hotel tab. Under City type Lake Buena Vista and enter your check in & check out dates, as well as the number of travelers. Click Search and a new window will pop-up that is searching for your room availabilities. Once that window opens up, you can narrow it down to the Disney Resorts by finding the part towards the top that says "Click letter for alphabetical listing" and click on the letter D. There should be two pages of Disney resorts and it will tell you the AAA rates for available properties. On mine, CR is on the first page and POR is on the second. When you find the hotel you's like, click on Book Hotel and scroll down to see the rates. (You can click on the room type to see wthe detailed description for each room type/code) Once you've selected, just click Book Now and follow the prompts.

Good luck and let me know if you need any more help!

Thank you so much! :thumbsup2 :wizard: I was going into the Disney section and not finding how to do it, other than the "request a quote thing". Going to go try it out!

If you're really set on booking at the AAA rates, I just went and checked online and POR is showing availability for the time that you will be there. It gave me a rate of $131.75 for Standard and $148.75 for Water View. Contemporary show availabily in Standard/Garden View at $279 before dropping to $249 on 7/5 for Value season. They also had availability in "Varied View/Garden Wing."

When I called to book our trip at AAA rates, the CM told me that some rooms are released at AAA rate through CRO and some are released specifically for AAA to sell online. That might explain the discrepancy.

We're booked right now at POR:RS 6/30-7/5 and AKL 7/5-7/8 but I'm driving myself crazy trying to figure out if I should dump the POR:RS ressies and reserve AKL or WL for those dates at rack rates with fingers crossed for AP codes. (The only AAA rate for AKL and WL for those dates is still too high!)

I've noticed that online through expedia and travelocity, AKL has standard rooms available for dates that they weren't just a few days ago. On the other hand, some WL woods view rooms were available and are now showing to be booked. Arrgggggh!

:badpc:

THANKS SO MUCH for sharing ..... I'm going to check the AAA site directly & do some comparisson shopping. We REALLY want to stay @ the Poly (we LOVE the Poly & really really want to be on the monorail during that week), but if there's no AP rate, we might need to switch to save the $$$.

We're definitely going that week. We have our ressies at the Poly for now & don't WANT to change ... BUT .... if we stayed @ POR, that would save like $1,200!!! That's just a lot of cash (at least to us it is). We could probably swing the Poly just with AAA, but when you look at the savings ............ gosh, we've just some decisions to make. :confused3

AAA.com you need to register (simple) and get a password. You will also have to provide your AAA number. Good luck!

Hi again...

Just to check for rates, it does not require that you register or enter your AAA number, but when you follow through and book (reserve with a deposit) you will need to have your AAA number. I guess I figure that if people were going to go ahead and book at AAA.com, and had already held rooms at AAA rates through CRO, they were planning on getting the AAA membership.

OT - My AAA membership has been invaluable this year! All of this Disney planning must have made me distracted. I've locked my keys in the car TWICE this month and I NEVER have done that before!

:sad2: I'm pretty bummed today...I thought for sure this would be the day. Knowing my luck, we'll be skipped over again for AP rates-we were back in August of 2003 also when they were doing the 7 for 4 deal (which wouldn't have benefitted us). Normally there's a lot of chatter on the internet when AP rates are going to be released and there's been nothing! We budgeted for rack rate, but we really wanted to spend the extra money in the parks or on dining. Guess I'll go sulk some more!

Really? I'm sorry I thought you did :confused3
AAA is invaluable, I have used then several times and it is great to know they will assist you when traveling.

I called this afternoon to see what else was available with AAA rates. Currently we have Poly LV MK view booked with a AAA rate of $374. They have GF GV for $305. Trying to hedge my best if AP rates don't come out. I asked the CM and she told me that the AP rates should have been out by now (they were told they were to be released last week). She said that she thinks there was some problem and that they are skipping the June AP discounts and going straight to the July and August. I'm taking this with a grain of salt because you never know if this is all true or not.

I am thinking of switching resorts (yet again) without an AP rate. Hope tomorrow is the day because I'm tired of being disappointed.

That actually makes sense. Last week I was told "any minute" and "call back every day". This week the answer is a flat out "NO" with no further explanation or details. Maybe they were going to release something and now they can't for whatever reason. In any case, I have a headache from all of this and it is starting to make me a little sad. :sad2:

I am looking into renting my friends timeshare. She is going to sell it to me for the price of her yearly dues so it is a bargain but I need a second room and I am staying longer than 1 week so I am not sure how that will all work out.

In light of the rumblings about no AP codes for June...but maybe for July:

Can anyone tell me - We are booked for a split stay 6/30-7/5 and 7/5-7/8. If there are codes released for some of the dates of your stay, can you apply the AP code to the nights that it's valid for, and use your AAA rate for the others? Would you have to make multiple reservations, or would they just charge you a different rate for the different nights?

My feeling is that if they do skip June, they won't post codes through 7/4 at least because of the holiday. Sad news for me, if that's the case...I keep trying to tell myself how great it is that we're going to WDW this year, and to be happy with the 3 nights at AKL that we've reserved at AAA rates, :woohoo: but it's hard not to be disappointed about not getting to stay at WL or AKL for the first 5. :sad2:

Still hoping that with a little pixie dust, some codes will come our way!

I am new to AP and the discounts that can be had. We are looking for something August 10 - 13. Do these dates usually have AP discounted rooms? I would be glad for any input. And do they 'sell out' very quickly?

Okay I don't know if this is a sign or not but I have been trying to get the AAA discount applied to my ressies for the past 45 minutes and every time I have called they have said for my to call back later, the system is down for an upgrade. Could it be?

Some room types sell out fast, but if you are flexible, I would think you would be alright. For example, I know AKL standard rooms sell out fast.

The online booking site is down, both AP and regular. Don't know if that means anything but we can only hope! :goodvibes
