My DH and I have had AP's for over 10 years. I have tried to "register" my email with them (and DH's email) multiple times over the years. So far, we have NEVER received an email about anything to do with AP's - discounts, promotions, advertisements, NOTHING! We get the Mickey Monitor - but that is always well after the discounts became available and we already know about them from here or mousesavers. I get emails from Disney (DisneyInsider, DisneyOutlet, DisneyShopping and occasional ads for DVC) but nothing to do with AP's.

If we don't call, how will we know? If we all wait for Mousesavers to post it (and remember, she was late the last time), we may well miss the opportunity for certain resorts/room categories. Further, until someone calls, how will it be made known on the DIS--I know I for one check the forums before I check the WDW Information pages.
If Disney wants to play the cat and mouse game with AP rates, then the price to be paid is being chased by the cat! I feel for the agents who must tolerate the "imposition" of doing their job, but that--at least for now--is how the game is played. Like the poster above, I have NEVER been notified of AP rate release dates until AFTER the release has occurred that a.m. or a day or so later, if I am notified at all.
ITA that it would be so much simpler if there was a guarantee of a discount at any resort (based on availability) and level of service for all passholders. Then, of course, Disney could always deny availability and consumer wouldn't know of availability without telephoning. As to checking the website--that's a

As much as it's an annoyance to the agents, it is what Disney has made it and we are simply trying to play the game.
