No, we haven't tried the
DDP before (because it didn't exist 4 years ago) but we are this time. Yeah, I spent some time debating whether it was worth it, considering the kids menus and the fact my kids, DS especially, like grown-up food. I decided to do it for several reasons:
1. All of our TS's we picked and have ADR's for have either a buffet or the kids menu has something they want.
2. Even if the kids changed their mind, I've read that it might be possible to get kid-sized portions of adult meals to substitute
3. I expect we'll be so full from some of the meals, we can share with the kids
4. We'll recoup the cost of the DDP ($100/day for my family) just from the TS we picked, so whatever we do for CS and snacks are free
5. As for the CS menus, I plan to use Roaring Forks for a few breakfasts, and carry a pre-checked list of the CS with no kids menus for the parks.
6. Be prepared to pay OOP for anything else.
Can you guess I'm an engineer? The DW is ready to strangle me for all the analysis I've done.
Hope this helps. It's really an individual decision. Because of the DDP, we're going to eat better with more variety than ever before.
