June is near! We're here to share our excitement!

 That's a big bummer, Flashscout. :sad1: I'm home here today with sick DD. And she is sending you all a big pouty bottom lip for Buster and a big hug  Our DS too tends to be the one who has a tough time getting over things. We had to get rid of a messy cat last year and DS took it much harder than DD. :sad2: We now have a rambunctious 8 1/2 month old Westie in smelly cat's place. :dogdance: Spencer likes to dart out the door so we hope that he doesn't end up meeting Buster's fate.

Well, back to busy for me too!! Disney, Disney, Disney!!!
Just think about where you'll be 7 weeks from now!!! I bet we'll be in the pool at WL! That's the request of DD and DS for the first day: Hang out at the pool, check out the lodge, and boatride to MK for the night. They can't wait to check out their bunk beds. DH can't wait to check out WL he has been wanting to stay there for a long time. We've been at BC last two stays. He just can't wait to take it all in. I just can't wait for...for... everything!:yay: :yay:

Hidden Mickey's anyone? DS is really into searching for them this year. He even has in own guide book. (I can smell a competion coming on!) WL has quite a few to find I hear.

Though I may not be the engineer in the family, I am the trip planner extraordinaire. I have a color-code spreadsheet that has worked flawlessly for the last two trips. I will be calling this weekend for pricing on DDP. If we do that, we need to make ADR for two more TS. I may make each of these calls separately just because it draws out the fun!:scratchin So many possibilities!

HELUVSME, where are you all staying. You'll be coming in just as we're going out. Don't worry! June will be here before you know it. I like to count back days every once in a while to put into perspective how long we have ahead. 49 days ago was March 2nd. That seems just like yesterday. Ooooo We'll be there in no time!!!!!

Hope this looks OK, I had my eyes dilated, now I'm blind

What are we counting down to? Let's see:

DD - seeing the princesses
DS - pool and all the rides he couldn't do last time
DW - sharing the magic with our princess
me - all the mountain coasters and HM

Since we're going a day earlier than we originally planned, we might be able to slip in at HM before the refurb. For other ride refurbs they clean, straighten, etc. but for HM do they add more squeaks, cobwebs, and dust? :confused3 Seriously, I heard it really needs it.

I'll talk to the DS about Hidden Mickeys - he might be up for a competition. DD has the sharper eye for that stuff, but gets bored quickly.

46 days and getting closer by the minute! :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

We leave on June 8, too. Actually the night of June 7 about 2 AM. It's so much nicer to drive at night and you get to watch the sunrise in Florida! We're there from 8-19. I can't wait!! Except for my diet, I'd leave tomorrow.

Our little family will be there June 1-9 at POR (DH favorite) We will get there May 31 in the evening and stay OS. We plan to do DTD the night we get in. Have a little icecream down by the water :goodvibes Then up with the sun on June 1 to check in and get our Keys to the Kingdom. We start every trip with a walk down Main Street at MK. Then we are really home.

Hope to see lots of you there. I have to find some lime green :thumbsup2

Hi all,

We'll be at the world June 6 thru 13 staying offsite(gasp) at Windsor Hills.

We are DH50(me), DW46, DD19, DS16, DD15 :grouphug: First visit in 9 years - we are all pretty psyched. So far we have an ADR for Hollywood and Vine/Fantasmic on the 7th. We'll be trying to hit each park once right at rope drop and doing the am / break / pm plan and will try to get in some quality pool/frozen drink time in the early afternoons and then return or hop after an early dinner.

Doing this with teens/big kids (wait, DW says that I'm just a big kid too) should be fun and perhaps interesting. Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!

P.S. Any other golfers want to get together for a round while down there?

Main Street U.S.A. at MK is my FAVORITE place on the face of the earth!

DH and I only hope the DS and DD will still love the magic when they are teens. :shamrock:Good luck, 4eyedbuzzard. Sorry no golfers here :confused3 Not enough patience.

Is lime green a code color? I'm new at this.

:hyper: 48 days, less than 7 weeks :hyper:

We started our kids on WDW at 6 and 8. Now they are 10 1/2 and 13 and they still love the magic!!!!:wizard:

It will be different. Their enthusiasm is more like that of ours now - they are young adults after all. It will be a great trip for DW and I as well - after all those trips with strollers, watching them 24/7, the inevitable meltdowns and sibling conflicts, etc. Last time in FL in '04 we didn't go to WDW as it was a short 4 day trip and I get free Busch Gardens/Sea World tiks as an Anheuser-Busch employee. It was great being able to let them go off on their own for pool time, attractions, etc but still getting together when we WANTED to be together. You get very mixed emotions as a parent from all this - but mostly good ones in the end.:goodvibes

DD15 was 5 last time we were at WDW, and doesn't remember a lot of it - she does remember the Dumbos, Pirates, Splash, and a few others - and we are all going for an encore reunion ride on the Dumbos!(and others of course) :thumbsup2 :grouphug: Sounds pretty silly, I know, but all of us think it will be a hoot to ride the Dumbos. We'll try to get a CM or guest to take a pic or two.

We didn't do Spaceship Earth last time so Walter Cronkite's voice was the last I remember, Mr. Toad was still going in MK, AK hadn't opened yet, etc. We tried to convince the oldest of our four, DS21, to come too, but he is not interested enough and would have to pull a lot of strings to get off work. We even tried to get his girlfriend(SHE wants to go!) to drag him along and join us but to no avail. The only other bummer is that this is my 5th trip to WDW(DW has corrected me - I thought it was only 4th) and Haunted Mansion closes the day we arrive, June 6th. EVERY time I have been there ('98 WDW/EP/MGM/cruise, '91 WDW/EP, '89 WDW/EP, mid '80's WDW) it has been closed or broken down. It's a curse. Everyone going this summer can blame me for HM being closed - they KNEW I was coming - psychic SOB's ;) Guess I'll just have to go back again - maybe Xmas/New Year with just DW and me at GF - something we've always wanted to do.

Hope your vacation is wonderful. Enjoy your children's childhood with them - they grow up so fast! You'll have great memories.

T - 44 days :cool1:

:yay: June 1st - 8th at Coronado Springs! We had to move our trip from april 5-10 to June and now I am happy, happy about that!:dance3: Flying out of Pittsburg in 40 days
962 hours
57724 minutes
3463478 seconds
according to my counter.
Have fun planning!

Rhonda

I am so sad!
I do not think that we will be able to go in June becasue of the horrible rates!
How are you all managing to go?

Thanks for your thoughts, 4eyedbuzzard. My first WDW trip was when I was in college and I haven't stopped loving the magic yet! My heart will break the day my kids ever say, "Ah, but we don't want to go to Disney." Believe it or not, DS shares his birthday with the Big Cheese himself, Mickey Mouse. DS will turn 10 in 2008 when MM turns 80. As of right now, DS is pumped up to go celebrate with Mickey in 2028 when DS turns 30 and MM is 100. Unfortunately, he may not think it to be such a great idea then.

Actually, DH and I look forward to trips w/o children some day, being able to do everything WE want to do. For now, we treasure every wonderful, magical moment.:goodvibes

Actually, disneyworldluvr349, we would love to go to WDW at a different time, but I teach and I can't take off to go any other time of year.:sad2:

June 23-30th. My son is getting married at the wedding pavillion on june 25th with a reception at Living seas in Epcot. We can't wait

We will be around then, going 6/20-6/27. Wow how nice for them, good luck!

so excited to be joining the June thread!!
6/3 ~ 6/8
just booked it for DD & self, so not sure where we're staying yet. hoping for BWV ~ please throw some pixie dust our way! pixiedust: pixiedust:

:)

I just don't think we will be able to get any other time.....
Maybe no Disney this year...

Sorry to hear that. We don't plan to go evey year. We find other excitement - last year was Colorado and New Mexico on the cheap - less than half the cost of WDW. :ssst: That makes the magic even more special. Sometimes a dose of the real world helps. Other times I just want to escape the real world - like this year.:cool1:

Oh... 43 days and counting...

I miss Mr. Toad - my all-time favorite. My dad used to complain about my driving on it, running into things, etc.

We changed the start of the Disney part of our trip in part due to YOU. I wanted to go to the Haunted Mansion, so we'll go to MK the day our plane lands instead of the next day. HA! :rotfl:

June 9-14. Yippee. We're staying at ASMu. See ya there!

Planning early is the key. We secured Swan discounted rates as soon as they were posted. Sometimes there are last minute discounts if demand is down. Hope for the best and keep checking!
