June Hotel Discounts??

Am I missing something here? We are taking our first trip to DL at the end of June, and I cannot find any really good discounts on hotel rooms within walking distance for that time period. All of the entertainment book deals, etc, don't include that time frame. We do not plan to buy APs, but we are active duty military, which I would think would help.

I know it's close to peak season, but not quite in it. Is there somewhere I should be looking to find a good discount?

Discounts for summer (June-Sept) are typically always out in March or April. Last year the 5 nights for the price of 3 (including parkhoppers) for the disneyland resort hotels came out mid-march. As far as entertainment rates for off property hotels (Hojos), they often don't list summer dates that utilize the entertainment rates until a few months before arrival. This is because they can sell a bunch of dates without the ET. Keep checking the Hojos insider board for the dates you are looking for, but don't expect them for several more months.

Other off property motels will have some discounts this summer, but not as good as the Hojo entertainment rates. You can typically get a Costco or AAA rate (about 15-20 % off), but not much more than that. Summer is their high season so they have no need to discount them more.
