June heat!!

OK, we are going the last week of June. I know it will be hot. I have a friend that lives there that said it gets worse in July and August and she feels it isn't that bad yet. Anyone been that last week and have any thoughts? I am used to 90s here in VA, so is it worse there?? Obviously we wont know until that actual week what the weather will really be like...maybe we will get lucky!

Anyway, what is a good plan for us, as far as beating the heat? Are the parks packed in the morning and evening due to this? I think I would rather deal with the heat rather than the crowds.

It's definitely hot there in late June, but bearable. The heat is worse than what you typically think of primarily because you're walking around on concrete, asphalt, etc. so it's just reflecting the heat back on you. But there are plenty of ways to break up the heat (inside rides etc.) you'll be fine. Just use your brain. Drink lots of water! And as lame as I once thought they were, the spray water bottles with the battery operated fans on the end are GREAT! They really do take the edge off when you're stuck in a long line.
I'm a Florida girl and I'll still go in June. (July and August...NO WAY!, but June, even late June is survivable)

In addition to that, we like to go back to the hotel around 1 or 2 in the afternoon to swim and rest, then head back out to the parks around 4 or 5. The parks are open late at that time of year, so you still get in a lot of touring time.

If you aren't staying on site, or just don't want to go to the hotel, there are rides at each park that give you a break from the heat.

At MK there is The Hall of Presidents, The Pirates of the Caribbean, The Haunted Mansion, and It's a Small World (if it's open)
At Epcot there is Ellen's Universe of Energy, the boat ride in The Land, Honey I Shrunk the Audience, Inoventions, and shopping!
At The Studios there is The Little Mermaid, The Great Movie Ride, and WWTBAM
At the Animal Kingdom you can always cool off at Kali River Rapids!

And at all the parks there is always the sit down restaurants to cool off in and get a great meal! And, of course the ever present shopping!

You will have a great time if you plan for the heat. The biggest problem we have with the heat that time of year is in the Animal Kingdom. It is VERY hot. We leave there by 10 or 11 in the morning.

Another thing to think about is the rain. It does rain at that time of year, which I think is a good thing! It cools things down and gets rid of the crowds at the same time!
