Our DS loved visiting Sea World on our last trip in April 2005. But the weather was much cooler and very nice during the whole day. Well this trip to the Orlando area will be 6/8-6/16 with weather being HOT. We wasn't planning on visiting SW. But I just noticed on their website they are open until 10 PM.
How are the attractions/shows at night? Is it worth going later in the day towards evening? How many hours should we allow for nighttime touring of SW?

Thanks:)

We usually take our vacations in late May/early June and Sea World has always been one of our favorites this time of year.

We almost always go to SW in the evenings. Usually after a rest or water park day. We would try to arrive around 3pm. All of the exhibits are still open and the shows are still going on. It just seemed more relaxing for us in the evenings.

We have also stayed until park closing and watched their fireworks show which was very good and not nearly as crowded as the WDW shows can be.

You asked how much time to allot and how many things you could see and the best I can do is give you an example from one evening we spent there.

We had an early dinner/late lunch around 2pm and arrived at SW at 3pm. We went to the Manatee exhibit, saw the Key West show, watched the dolphins and sea lions for a little while, saw the sea lion and otter show, the shark exhibit, walked around just enjoying the park and doing a little shopping, did the wild artic exhibit, and saw the final Shamu show. After that we stayed to watch the fireworks.

At the time, our kids were 16, 14, and 10, so they enjoyed the pace of the evening. We also went to Sea World on another evening during that trip and just spent the evening walking and spending more time at the exhibits (no shows or rides) and we had a wonderful time.

Thank you so much for your reply/information. I told my DH and we both thought SW would be cool to see at night. All of us enjoyed it so much last time. I just wanted to make sure that there was enough exhibits/shows open in the evening for it to be worth the money. Yes I would love to see their fireworks show too:goodvibes I usually buy the tickets ahead of time but I think I will still wait to buy them in Orlando so we can be flexible if we run into any time restraints.

Thanks again for the quick review:thumbsup2
