June crowds

We are considering going from June 10th to June 15th which is a Wednesday thru Monday timeframe or June 14th thru 19th which is a Sunday thru Friday timeframe and we will be staying onsite. Will there be that much difference in crowds between those two dates due to the weekend and it being early/mid June? Never been to Universal before so I have no idea. Thanks!

Since you are staying on site, your hotel key card can be used to use the express lines for all the rides and shows.

You will be avoiding long line waits for rides and attractions/shows.

To avoid lines and crowds for getting food, just eat at off times.

Crowds always happen when kids are out of school.
Saturdays usually have more crowds but you won't be effected by it very much.

You will be using the FOTL/express lines.

Hope you enjoy yourself on your vacation!

macraven, Thanks so much for the good wishes and information! I was hoping we could be more flexible and stay over the weekend instead of going mid week.

you are very welcome!

I can remember being a newbie and had nothing but a couple of books to read to learn about universal before i took my boys there. (1992)

Having this forum can help you tremendously.

Since you are starting from scratch, read the stickies.
Some of them have information that you didn't even know to ask about.
All the stickies might not interest you but the basics are there for someone not familiar with universal.

i always tell posters to read them and trippies.
i tell them that as they will get more than their question answered and find out things that will help them sometime during their trip.

read some of the trip reports in the trip forum.
it doesn't matter if they are current or a couple of years old.
many of the rides and attractions are still there.

some posters put pictures in their reports.
this is very helpful to see as you will recognize where you are in the parks then.

i think the interactive map is very helpful to a newbie for universal parks.
you get the layout of the location of the ride.
you also get an idea of the island section you are in.
universalorlando.com is where you will find that.

check the info on the parks at that site and the hotels that are onsite.

going mid week has its advantages.
less long lines for food service in the parks and at city walk.

weekends get busy as locals are off work.
everyone goes to visit the relatives that live in florida when their kids have summer vacation..........and the relative probably is being the guest to take the family to the parks on their days off.
saturday/sunday for many cases.

you can read back threads in the UO forums.

at the bottom of the page on the left hand side, you will see sections you can change.
right now i think you can only view the last 6 pages of this forum.

go to the section: Display Options

under that on the right side you will see:

sorted by
from the

change the box of "sorted by" to "last year".
click on it and get the arrow to move to "last year"

when "last year" is in that box, click on "show threads.
(that is under "sort order")

this will now pull up all the pages of threads posted within one year of this date.

I only suggested do the one year box so you can see last summer time questions and threads.
It will give you an idea of the basics.

if you only go back "3 months", you'll still be in the winter of this year.

you probably want to read threads that were about the summer time last year so you will have an idea of what to expect.

this will help you a lot when you want to find past threads and read them.
let me know if you need any more assistance.

i don't always have the time to go into detail to tell newbies or regulars the answers to their questions. This is why I suggest stickies and especially past posts.

i wish i could make a sticky and list all my mummy dust ways to answering questions.......

if you get confused on using the boxes to change them in order to find certain threads, post again and i'll explain a different way.

Hi! We are going june 14-19, but i'm a newbie too:rotfl: But I got a great deal on airfare & at RPR. That's how I decided. I'm sure you'll have a blast either way :goodvibes

The later you go in June, the more children will be off school. There is a big difference between the first, second and third week of June. Never seems as crowded as WDW, though. Do't know why. You should be cool with the FOTL pass whatever time you go.

I have found June to be crowded but not as bad as July though :thumbsup2

Just curious, do you all think staying onsite for 7 days is too long, or should we just do 5? I was thinking if we stayed onsite for the 7 day timeframe we could go over to Seaworld and or Busch Gardens. Is there any shuttle service to those two parks?

I know they do for sea world but I don't think they do for Bush Gardens and I am not like most cause I think 7 days for Universal is great and thats what me and DW are doing this June and can't wait

when you stay on site, you can use the free shuttle to aquatica, sea world and wet and wild.
check with the lobby concierge or lobby check in desk for the times it runs.

if you want to go to busch garden, you can reserve a seat on the big bus for $10 pp. you are picked up at your hotel at universal and then dropped at BG.

if you buy the 14 day flex tickets, there is no charge for the BG shuttle bus.
