June 8, 2015 Alaskan cruise on the Wonder

Hi all!
We are booked for this cruise too! We are so excited!! It'll be myself, DH and our (then) 10 yo dd. Amy, glad to know we won't be the only Texans on board! ;)

Forgot to add, it'll be DH & I 4th cruise and dd's 1st on DCL

Hello everyone --- we have booked two rooms on this cruise. It will also be mine, my kids, and my mom's sixth DCL cruise and our first as gold cruisers!! Seems to be a lot us "in the same boat" so to speak :-). Our fifth cruise is the WBTA coming up in September. My husband will be with us for Alaska and it will be his first Disney cruise!! My DH and I will be traveling with our DS 11 and DS 8, and my DM 81.

I have to say, I also have 2 other Alaska cruise booked, one on HAL and one on Celebrity, and I am still not sure which one we are going to go on! My heart says the Wonder, but HAL has slightly better itinerary and Celebrity is more nights for the same price. I'm keeping them all booked for now. I booked this one last. I didn't think DCL to Alaska would be affordable for us, but with our OBB discount and OBC and my DRV 2% back, it ended up being the same price.

We love DCL and hope this cruise pans out for us...

Just got back from Alaska. Had such a great time we have booked the same cruise for next year. See you all in June :)

Hi - I booked back on opening day but I just haven't posted yet. Our party has changed 3 times now as of today it's me , my DD will be 11 when we sail, a good friend from work here in Texas that originally was in her own room with a friend that backed out so she joined us today. Then another really good friend from San Diego that I begged to go to the Med with DD & me June 2014 but he couldn't so he is going to Alaska.

It will be mine & DD 3rd Disney cruise, Texas friend's 2nd and SD friend's 1st.

We are all excited about Alaska!! I can't believe there are so many Texas people on here :yay:

Just switched to this cruise. This will be #10. My wife Christine and I

Hi everyone. This is going to be my first cruise. I'm going solo, too. Any advice from experienced cruisers is very welcome!

Hi everyone-

Well, I have officially cancelled this cruise - kind of. I had 2 rooms booked using my OBB, and I cancelled one (lost the OBB) and have kept the other one just in case I find another cruise I want to move my OBB to in the next few months. I really would love to do DCL to Alaska, and I was REALLY looking forward to our balcony room (6154 - HA for my mom's scooter with a HUGE aft verandah). BUT... first Celebrity threw in their all-you-can-drink package, THEN they decreased the fare by $750. That means that the 11 night Celebrity cruise is $1700 less for my party of 5 and 4 nights longer with drinks included for me and my hubby. I just couldn't justify the DCL cruise :-(

But, if I really love Alaska I may do it again in a few years on DCL...

Enjoy your cruise everyone!

Hi - we have switched from the Baltic cruise to this Alaskan sailing and can't wait. My travel group has 6 people: me, my husband, my parents (71 and 67), and our 2 daughters, who will be 5 years and the other one 9 months. We have two verandah rooms on 7th floor.

It is second DCL for DH, older DD, and me and first for the rest.

Hi,

DW and I, our DS just started college and we haven't been on DCL since he was eleven and let us know afterward that he thought he'd gotten a little too old for DCL, and we switched over to RCI for several cruises. We were in our 30's when we first boarded the Wonder, and now we're in our fifties and next summer we're booked into the same stateroom as we had on our first DCL cruise. Just the two of us, first time to Alaska.

Can't remember how to set up the festive countdown clocks for the signature, so if anyone can post a tutorial or a link to one for a refresher, that would be very helpful.

Have booked hotel for Sat. & Sunday nights, and now in the process of booking the flights using some Delta Sky Miles.

Don't overpack. Plan to dress in layers.

Hi everybody. We just booked this cruise after canceling our Disney Magic Baltic cruise on July 22 due to becoming way too expensive for us and our friends. We did that cruise back in 2010 anyway. So now we are joining you guys along with friends that we have sailed with before as well. We have sailed Alaska before on Holland America. This will be our 20th Disney cruise and we have sailed on all 4 ships. Looking forward to some nice cool weather as we live in Arizona.

Unfortunately, posts have been removed from a number of Cruise Meets threads including this one.

PLEASE review the Cruise Meet Policy regarding Cruise Meet and Fish Extender programs. - http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3353477

Links to Cruise Meet discussion/Fish Extenders other than those on the DIS may not be posted or offered by any other means (PM, email, "search" directions, etc.).

Cruise Meet threads are doing just fine still managing meet and FE discussions right here on the DIS as they have since FE began (also here on the DIS).

FE organizers generally need to know how many people (adults/children) are participating in each cabin with child ages for age appropriate gift giving. Other information you would like to share such as names, allergies, favorite characters, etc. is up to you. Other personal information is not really necessary. Those organizing FEs typically ask for the information to be posted in the meet thread or sent to them via PM.

For those posting in this Cruise Meet thread to join a FE, if no one comes forward to organize a FE for this cruise, anyone can organize the FE right in this thread.

Enjoy!

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

I didn't know it was called that, but this will be our GS cruise and first as gold. Can't wait!

Hi we just made reservations for this cruise. We have a very large group going. For almost all of us its our first cruise. Me, DH, 3DSis, 2DBIL, my parents, my BIL parents and BIL grandma, DD15, DS13, DN14, DN13, DN11, DN9, and possibly my BIL sis, her DH and 2 DS 6 and 4 I think. I am a little worried about my son since he is the only boy in a group of 5 girls (N is niece for all of them). If my BIL sis comes it will add 2 boys, but they are so much younger they won't really be hanging out together. I am so excited!:goodvibes Any tips for a first timer would be appreciated. Also I wanted to make FE's for everybody, does anyone have the dimensions of the space they hang in?
Dawn

We will be on this cruise as well! First time DCL but third time Alaskan cruise. This will be a first cruise for DD6 and second for DS9. So excited... Anything special and tips as first time DCL cruisers!?:)
