Anyone worried about the 'war' in Libya? Will we be expecting to see a lot warships/gunships in the Mediterranean? I really do hope we get to visit Malta, I would be disappointed if Disney Cancels this port but I won't be mad, I know it'll be for safety reasons. Well, we still have about 2 1/2 months to go so hopefully It'll get resolved by that time.

I've thinking about the Libya conflict as well. Hopefully it will not present a problem with our stop in Malta. I will say I am sure glad Disney canceled the Tunis port when they did. I would be more nervous in a country that shares a border with Libya than an island a couple of hundred miles away. I trust that Disney will make the best decision but I really want to visit the Blue Grotto!

I have heard that Malta and Sicily are taking in all of the refugees from the countries involved in the fighting. I hope that doesn't have an impact either.

I would think Malta is safe for the time being. Palermo is pretty close to the fun too.

We are late seating please.

On our last cruise we also did the cruise meet at 3 PM and it worked out great The only issue was that it was kinda of noisy out by the pool but on the other hand the parents were able to talk and mingle while the kids were in the pool. It can also get crowded by the pool so a sign or something else that will identify us as a Dis group would probably be helpful.

On the westbound transatlantic last year, everyone met in the promenade lounge and it worked out well weather wise as it did rain on the day and it was a great place to take the group photo. Just an idea

Once the reservations are linked, you will not be able to change any of your spa, palos or anything, so I can wait until say the 30 day mark and send the info off then as everyone will have booked their trips by then?

My DH has just retired from the RAF and he is not too concerned. After 20+ years in the military, he is familiar with the area and served in Italy also.

I always trust his judgement. If there were any doubts at all, DCL would be re-routing us.

Everyone was talking about trips earlier, we are doing most ports on our own, but decided to go with the DCL excursion to the blue grotto and fishing village I've always wanted to see the blue grotto

Cool. I've already linked with Janey2000 through my TA. So far we are the only early seatings on roll call but if anyone else is interested we could probably get another table nearby!

Hi Rose

If you link your dining reservation, that means that you will be sitting with those people for your entire trip. If you link with other DISers then it means you are guaranteed to have similar people/friends you have chatted with on the boards sitting with you at dinner.

Otherwise, with no linked reservation, DCL could seat you with another party or even on a table of your own.

Once you are allocated your table for dinner, that is your table number for the entire trip and anyone seated with you will rotate with you every night.

I hope this explains that you won't be seated with different people every night.

Hi all! I know you guys are getting just as excited as we are! Can't wait to meet some of you and share this awesome trip of a lifetime. I have been reading and researching soooo much and have narrowed our choices down and am hoping to get some advice.

1. Does anyone know whether we would have time to do the Blue Grotto later in the day if we chose to do the tale of two cities tour in Malta?

2. Has anyone been to Les Calanches in Corsica? I can't seem to find any excursion info on it, yet it's listed as one of the 1000 places to see before you die, and is like our Grand Canyon. Any thoughts, advice?

I'm still also trying to put together exact plans for finding cabs in Naples and Villefranche if anyone has any recommendations or things to avoid.

I may try to post this question on the Med Ports link as well, in case someone not attached to our cruise might have some info.

Just looked up les calanches, looks amazing but don't think we'll manage due to DH's mobility problems. The train stations for villefranche and Naples seem to be walking distance from the port from what we have researched. Did you need a cab to get you to the station or to tale you somewhere else?

Hi Mary, thanks for your reply. I didn't realize that train stations were close to the port. I think everything I've learned from every port is starting to blend together. In Naples we'd like to try to do both Pompeii and Herculaneum ruins as well as Mt. Vesuvius if possible, so I'm sure the train would work at that stop. In Villefranche we've read about the perfume factory in Eze and I'd like to go there to check that out, so hopefully there'll be some info on a train at that stop as well. I'm still working on Les Calanches, not sure if there is a "tour" or option to explore that area, but it does look beautiful. If I find a way to visit / observe without needing to "hike" through, (like maybe a driving tour) I'll let you know. Thanks again!
