June 29, 2008 - Magic - West Coast!!!!

Hi Guys...did anyone happen to watch the Magic going through the canal today? I couldn't help myself...I HAD to watch  It actually got me really pumped for the cruise!! Just knowing it's on it's way....very exciting :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: It made me get on my lists and all the planning that's been on the back burner :rolleyes1 I can already taste that Lava Flow!!! :drinking1

How did you watch the Magic go through the Panama Canal?:confused3

There are webcams at each lock...it was really cool! :cool2: Here on the main board, there was a thread about it, with a woman who was texting her friend that was on the ship...so we got the play by play. What the Captain was telling them, reasons why they were late, etc. etc. I guess there was a US Submarine in front of them at the Miraflores lock, and made the Magic two hours late through that lock. Then the webcams went down for a while and everyone was bummed out...we thought we wouldn't be able to see anymore. But then after about an hour, they came back up and watched it go through. I don't really know why I was so into it, but I think just knowing it's coming to us, made me want to watch!! ;) I'm a sucker for that kind of stuff :thumbsup2

Very Cool!!! Anything else exciting, or dull...I guess just any news about the cruise, I'd love to hear about it. I bet its crazy hot for them in Mexico. 101 here in San Diego. My house cleaner lives in Tijauana, and she said that it is even hotter there. Her home has air conditioning though....good thing!!!! Well, please keep me up to date with all the exciting news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!princess:

aloha,
Hey guys anyone doing the Chileno Bay Snorkling in Cabo and also Canopy Adventure (Zipline ride) in PV?
Can't decide what to do in Mazatlan. :confused3 Matbe we would just explore the town:rolleyes1
Have a great night guys. Stay cool:drinking1

aloha,
hawaiian mickey

Speaking of snorkling....does anyone bring their own snorkling equipment to these excursions? On the Pirate ship excursion, it mentions snorkling...but I'm not sure about using stuff other people have also used...it's that germifobe in me :rolleyes1 Do they at least sterilize it before someone else needs it :confused3 I'm just curious :o I'm sure they must have guidelines and rules they must follow to sanitize the stuff....I guess I'm paranoid. ;)

I take my own stuff to castaway...I didn't sign up for any snorkeling excursions this trip, but I would definitely bring my own...

That's funny, because I was just thinking that I was going to bring my own snorkel stuff too. Has anyone ever used the sea sick patch, and if you have, has it effected your drinking at all. I like to drink wine with dinner, and I am figuring that Rick and I will share a bottle every night. But, I was wondering if the patch will make the alcohol effect me weird. Any info anyone? I DO NOT want to feel anything but pure Disney joy on my vacation. Drunk is not attractive.princess:

Oh....I have another question. With the romance package, we get to use the Rainforest room every day. Now, I was thinking that it would be nice if I went to the spa in the afternoon, took a sauna, then my shower for the night, and I don't have to use my room shower. I can get the spa shower all steamy, not my room. I know that here at home when I go to the spa, they have an amazing women shower / locker room that has everything for your use. What do guys think? Does Vista Spa have the same thing?princess:

Funny!!!! Not " what do guys think " I mean ,:rotfl2: princess: what do YOU guys think?

:rotfl: :rotfl:

That's funny! I've been up in the air with the Rainforest room. I want to do it, but I'm not sure how that whole thing works :scratchin I'd probably only use the treadmills in the workout room, but I don't want to walk around the ship smelly right after! What's the typical 'process' that everyone follows? BTW...my ticker only says one month and 11 days til the cruise...AAAAGH!!!!! :dance3:

We decided not to get any spa treatments, but the Rainforest room is included in the Romance package. I think that if it was not included in the package...I would not do it. I am a person who goes to the gym daily, but I think I would just go on runs around deck 4 a few time every morning. The gym is free though. I am going to check out the tour when I first get on the ship. OH....and the galley tour. OH...and lunch at Parrot Cay. I am sooooo excited!!!princess:

Does anyone actually know what kind of a 'deal' you get at the spa on port days? Is it a huge savings or not so much? :confused3 And do they offer things on the port days that they normally wouldn't? Thanks guys! ;)

Anyone see that weird post between my last two? It's gone now thank goodness! :thumbsup2 So is anyone here going to :welcome: the Magic this weekend? Boy is it just me or did those two weeks fly by? Anyway, have a wonderful and safe Memorial weekend! ;)

I wrote it in my day planner about 5 months ago to drive to San Pedro to see the ship. I drive a Suburban, and gas here is $4.00 a gallon.... I think i will just look at pictures of the ship, and pretend. princess:

I saw that post and was like

Almost at 5 weeks, people! Get psyched! :thumbsup2

Yes, I feel your pain....I drive a big ol Yukon and it's definitely not cheap to fill it. But if anyone happens to go and take pic's, could you please post? :)

I am SO psyched!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: Should be getting the doc's soon, right? Like within the next few weeks?

not sure!

The weeks are going to FLY...I mean, I can't believe we're so close already!

I still need to shop!

I can't wait!!!! Part of me is in no hurry for it to get here, because I don't want it to be over with. I love the excitement of it all. The planning, the posts, everything is so much fun. I guess once the cruise is over with, I can take a long time putting the pictures together to stretch the vaction out even longer.princess:
