June 29, 2008 - Magic - West Coast!!!!

Alright so I had to share before I burst....I shared with the kids that we weren't going to be visiting Dland before the cruise. Needless to say they were completely bummed out since last year we were able to go almost every month. We LOVE Disneyland. Anyway, my husband and I just decided that rather than stay at a hotel close to the port the night before, we'll be staying at Paradise Pier!! :woohoo: I got annual pass rates for the concierge level...OUTSTANDING!!! The best part of it all, is we're keeping it a secret until we actually drive down....AAAGH!! The kids are going to freak BIG TIME...Ok, got it off my chest. I feel much better now. Maybe I can actually keep it a secret now :rotfl2:

Ok, I can hardly wait. I love Disney Cruise. I have even talked a few people at my job to go on the cruise. They are going a different week then I am but they are goiing. Now, they are not as excited as I am about going. I explained to them after they go the first time they will be really excited about going again and again.

Thanks for being excited...if you only knew how BAD I am at keeping secrets! My husband is just shaking his head at me :sad2:  So have they accepted your request for time off? Hope so!! I made DH ask for it on January 31st....of last year!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

yup, got it off! I even have enough PTO... :thumbsup2

Hey guys....hope everyone has a very happy Easter! I'll be traveling (not far) :car: , but I'll miss my DISboards til Monday ;)

:snail: :snail: :snail: :snail: This week is moving at a snails pace....I really need the weekend to get here. Anyway, I've been downloading iTunes songs, and got this cool 'steel drum' band music. I put it on the outdoor speakers while I was gardening and it made me think of cruising....but other than Jimmy Buffet, can anyone tell me if I can get the music they play on the ship? :confused3 I searched the iTunes store and nothing. TIA :flower3:

Aloha,
Just booked our Palo brunch and dinner:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1: Had a glitch when I tried to book Palo's. Said I did not pay in full, my credit card said otherwise. In frustration I kept hitting refresh about 50 times or more, an low and behold I could make my reservation.
You can make your reservation on the west coast at 9:00PM -12:00 east coast right at the 90 day mark.
Did anyone else make any Palo's res and shore excursions?

90 day till the big day:thumbsup2:cool1::banana:

aloha,
hawaiian mickey

Since this is my first cruise, I can't book until 75 days out....   So I figure everything will be gone by April 15th. But I will definitely try... Glad you got yours all done :woohoo: I'm even getting excited for the people on the first Repo...can't wait to hear what they say!! :)

I booked brunch and tea last night! :thumbsup2 Man, spots went fast! I wonder if they will open up more Palo and excursions for the 75 dayers...?

I've kinda wondered how that worked. Only because the 75 dayers would be left out all the time I would think. Can you explain to me how you actually reserve things? I mean does a separate screen come up and have a list of excursions, Palo, etc? Never having done this, I want to know what to expect. ;) Thanks!! :thumbsup2

Ok, so you go to the main dcl page...not sure if it's disneycruise.com or something. You log in (if you already have a disney.com login somewhere in the abyss, you can use that). Go to "my cruise" and retrieve your reservation with your ressie # and your birthday. Then there will be buttons on the page that say "reserve palo" "reserve spa" etc. click on those and you will go to a screen where you can do all that stuff. The times available will be clickable...when I got on at 9:10 last night, the first 2 palo brunch spots were closed out already! Insane!

Ok, I think I understand. I guess the main idea is to "come to the table" with more than one time that's suitable?? I feel like a total newbie...it's like my first day of school or something  I'm curious if our one and only excursion is already sold out...I'll find out soon :woohoo: The good thing my DH and I are feeling, is that since it's our very FIRST Disney cruise, we'll be completely 'into' the ship itself and if we don't get Palo or whatever it will still be fine ::yes:: So, just so I'm clear, the kids clubs don't sell out though, right? Even though I'm last to sign up, there will still be spots right? :confused3

not sure about the kids clubs. definitely come with more than one time/day option. our first cruise, we made our palo ressies when we got on the boat, so there is always that possible option...!

Yeah...that's an option...I'll keep you posted as to what happens. BTW, what is the 'tea' you signed up for? The 'Tea with Wendy' that I've heard about? (Oh wait, is that at DL?) I'm getting everything confused now :upsidedow I need another cup of coffee!! :surfweb: :rotfl:

High Tea at Palo! It's offered at 3pm on all the sea days! :thumbsup2

Hi EmEyeSeeKayEeWhy, Hi Cryssi. This is Bill. Just finished paying off the cruise. It was a problem, debit card/visa didn't work and neither did the credit card MC. I haven't scheduled anything yet, brunch seemed to be full. Don't know what to do with the actual shore excursions. At Mazatlan, the beech excursion had 4 wheel vehicles that were a load of fun and rented by the hour. Did that one on the Panama Canal westbound in 2005. Cabo seems to have a lot of excursions and just haven't had time to to decide. what do you guys think? I would like one that might do the ski dos in the harbor. I'll have the kids look it over and see. I'm at the office right now.

Hey Bill :wave2: What a royal pain having all those problems...glad you were able to get it paid off though. It was such a relief for me knowing I didn't have that to worry about anymore! As far as excursions, I didn't really investigate many...but the one you spoke of sounds like my kids would've liked it too. I still have a week and a half to completely decide, but I'm totally bummed that I'm LAST in the whole process  Oh well. But I personally tend to lean toward anything that has a 'Beach' in the excursion title :beach: Sittin' under an umbrella drinkin' a daquiri is right up my alley :rotfl:
