Our suitcases are out and ready for the packing to begin :yay::yay::yay: I can hardly believe our trip is almost here!!

Suitcases can't come out in our house until the week before (or at least until I finish the grading this week, and have all the math games ready to roll out next week.. and the house half-cleaned). But I'm counting down the days... my happy numbers are the number of days until the end of school, the number of days until our flight, and the number of days until the ship... once in a while, for an extra needed smile and patience, I add on the number of days until the train ride north to Vancouver, too.

Sadly, my word of the day the past week has been "obstreperous"... I like the way it sounds far better than the reasons it keeps coming to mind (you *know* it's bad, and not you, when the teacher you always think of as soft-spoken and mild mannered *yells* at a group of students...)

My daughter adds one number to her list of countdowns... 3 weeks exactly (and I'm wondering if she remembers she gave me permission to embarrass her already or not ;-)

I wish I could. We have to get through this weekend of 2nd birthday parties for DS1. He turns 2 next Tuesday so Saturday is his friends party and Sunday is the family party. I can't believe my baby is turning 2!!!!

yep...me too! Gotta get rid of all the bridal shower stuff (throwing one of my best friend's shower next weekend) out of the spare room before I can put the suitcases in there!!!

My next 2 weeks are soooo nutty, I can't wait to relax on the ship!!!:woohoo:

Mybelle is was so fun to meet you and your boys yesterday!!!! Sorry I had to bolt at the end. Hopefully the boys will all have fun together on board too :)

I feel so unprepared. I've started a packing list, that's about it! I'm hoping to do fe stuff this weekend.

I started a list then got so overwhelmed with it I stopped. Take two young kids on a cruise requires a ton of stuff.

LOL, I had to look the word up because I had never heard it. You taught me something new!

I am taking advantage of a somewhat quiet weekend to get the packing mostly done. We are headed out of town for Father's Day Weekend and the week before we leave will be crazy for me at work since I am taking two weeks off. I will be trying to get as much as I can done in advance - not fun!

I have been "gathering" things for several weeks and thinking about mix and match outfits for all of us to give more variety. This packing is just so different that what we normally pack for a "summer" trip. I keep reminding myself of the rule - it must be worn at least twice to make it into the suitcase. I am hoping that our suitcases are large enough. We'd like to each only bring one but I am thinking we may have to have one 21" carryon in order for everything to fit and have room to bring home things we purchase up there. It is turning into "The Packing Challenge" for me, i.e. three adults, three suitcases, two weeks of travel, what do you really need?

I tend to pack way more than I need..."you might need it" but I am determined to pack just the essentials. I am hoping we can get by with 1 suitcase a piece and a small carry on. Wish me luck!!! Oh, and let's hope that the suitcases don't weigh over 50 pounds.....my garment bag weighs 14 pounds...doesn't leave many pounds to work with...hahaha...It is bad enough that you have to pay for your luggage but look out if it goes over 50 pounds....ouch.

Getting soooooo excited:yay:! Can't believe it is almost here! Looking forward to meeting you all soon...:grouphug:

Has anyone read from other recent posters who have just gotten back, what the weather has been like?

I have loaded the ports in my acuweather ap for my iphone and it looks like for the week before our cruise it will be in the low 60's with lows around 50. Some rain on most days in all the ports. Same for Vancouver.

We are last minute packers and since we travel all the time most things are always in the suitcase. Just have to figure out the clothes. We are planning on one suitcase each and a 4 carryons for the 8 of us with a couple of days clothes and personal hygene things in case our luggage gets lost as it has in the past. We have a layover in Chicago and you never know what will happen with the luggage. We feel it is better to be prepared and not have any issues than have our luggage lost and nothing to wear except what we have on.

I'm wondering if there will be room to store 3 suitcases and 3 carry ons...

I read on another thread there were Palo reservations available at studio sea when you arrive for dinner and brunch but no tea.:sad2:

I would have liked to do tea again too, but maybe next time.h

Met up with Buddywesley so the kids could hang out a little before the cruise. Super sweet family.. Looking forward to seeing them on the cruise!!!

Good luck with the Luau tonight, I know it will be great..

Thanks Michelle :) I posted earlier but will repeat... it was GREAT meeting you guys too! Sorry I had to bolt at the end. Would love to do mani...I have a pedi scheduled on the first day at sea. Was thinking of canceling it but maybe I'll keep it? It's the sole delight foot ritual at 12:15pm on Wed. Let me know :lovestruc

Luau should be fun...Looks like it warmed up a bit from this am. Still overcast but not too cold.

I will DEF be partaking in the tastings :rotfl:

They have martini, wine, mojito and beer tastings according to the navigators I saw from the previous cruises...
