June 27 2010 5 Night Bahamas - Double Dip

Finally did this!!!!!!
Now you all have a picture of us.
This was the Wonder Jan 2009.

Sorry - my post sounded so exclusive - sometimes I do not like electronic communication. I hope to meet EVERYONE that is in this discussion when we get on board......only 21 short days and counting.

By the way - are people going all out for pirate night? My teens are showing some reluctance about "making a spectacle" of themselves. Advice?

We are traveling with my 16 DS who is excited about vacation but won't let me talk about the details because I'm apparently "obsessed" about Disney. As for the pirate night we will NOT be doing anything special. DS and hubby refuse and I just don't want to do it essentially by myself.

Too funny - my boys are the same way - but once we get there, their tune changes. Hoping the same applies to the cruise. This is our first Disney cruise - we did two Adventures by Disney, and too many WDW trips to count. If they will not feel worse by NOT dressing for pirate night, I will let that one go too. I am sure the people watching is way fun that night. Are you doing the second dinner seating?

Va'ers,

I'm outside Richmond. Nice to 'meet' ya. See you soon!

Pirate gear: not really. My dh isn't very excited about the cruise in general so I just found some temp. tattoos for dd. But I heard disney gave some out on one cruise. I dunno. I'll have to see if I can get dh in some pirate gear! LOL pirate:

1. Since DH hates to go to costume parties at Halloween, I highly doubt he'll miss not dressing up for Pirate Night. As for teen son, he's much too cool to dress up.

2. Yes, we have 2nd seating for dinner, which i suspect will be one of the few times, other than excersions, and money hand outs that I'll ever see DS!

I can't wait to meet everyone. I am happy to meet wherever. We leave for Disney World on the 19th so hopefully we will have our plans for the meet firmed up before then. I would hate to miss out on a get together. Do we have a final count for the FE's yet? I would hate to not have enough supplies for everyone.

Thanks everyone.
Melanie

5K: That was my plan about 2 months ago! I was going to start running again! LOL That didn't really happen. We're doing the stingray thing early on the first day at CC so I think that counts me out. (That's the story I'm going with any way! LOL)

I am totally excited out of my mind!

I checked today and got my late dinning request switched to early dining! YAY! We're early eaters so it was important to us.

Can not wait to meet you all!

Thanks for putting the list together! The 5k on Castaway is a fun run of sorts. I hear you get a certificate if you complete it. there is also a power walk for those that don't want to run!

Has anyone found the navigators from last week's cruise? I am anxiously awaiting them!!

5 Night Navigators should be available this week. they were apparantly scanned yesterday, just waiting for them to be posted. can't wait, kids have a count down on the garage door.

Hey everyone, I can't believe how close we are to going on the cruise. I am so excited and very unprepared. We are still trying to get our DD's through finals which will end the Wed. before we leave. We are also in the softball playoff rounds which means games every other night and then we started swim team (can you say "over committed" :confused3). I still need to do my shopping for the cruise, pull together the FE gifts, get my packing list together, make my door magnets, ... Me, panic, :scared1:

For the FE's our cabin number is 6562 but I am going to look into upgrades at the port the day of the cruise so it may change (never done this before so not sure how it works).

As for dressing up, my DD's used to dress up for pirate night but now my oldest is 16 and not sure she wants to do it anymore. I haven't asked the DD12 but she usually follows along in her sisters footsteps. As for my DH and I, I bought these skull and cross bone tee shirts a while back and we just wear those. So it is a little something, but not much.

As for a pre-cruise diser's meet:grouphug:. I posted earlier about meeting up on deck 10 overlooking the goofy pool during the sail away party (on the side closest to the port). That way we can put faces with names and still watch the kids down at the sail away party, if anyone is interested. I am usually hanging out up there anyway so I can keep an eye on my kids and not have to be down in the party confusion :cool1:

Well, I guess I need to go back to work :sad2:

CarlonsofVeroBeach, thanks for organizing this FE gift exchange for our cruise. :)

It is our pleasure! Thank you for updating the list. I just now had a chance to log in to DISBoards and saw that several more families wanted to be part of the action (we LOVE it!!) - glad that you had an opportunity to put out a more current list.

We are counting the days!

How would we know that we're DIS'ers? Do we just walk up to everyone and say, "Are you SUJO?"

Sorry, I've just never done the cruise meet before.

Usually people try and wear the lime green shirts (the color of the disboards) and that is how you can tell. I usually have a lime green Mickey head pinned to my shirt if not wearing my lime green shirt. You can get Mickey heads in the Home Depot paint department. They are used by Disney to show you the different colors of paint that they have. They have a disboard green that people have used in decorating their doors and for other things (magnets, buttons, etc...). Also if there is large group standing in the area on deck ten above the sail away party you usually say, "Hey are you on the disboards:cool1:?" Things like this.
