June 26, 2011 5 Nights on the Disney Dream!!!!

Hi All,
I haven't been around for a while so I'm sure you may have talked about this already-- if so, forgive me--

This cruise is the first 1/2 of our back-2-back. On this cruise is me, 11 yr. old son, my friend & her 11 yr. old. We want to do the Atlantis excursion (with the water park). Through Disney it is $169 per person & our boys are adult rate as well-- for a total of $676. I remember reading somewhere once to book a room on your own at Comfort Inn Suites, Paradise Island because you get full use of the Atlantis facilities. I just checked & for the 4 of us (our room w/ acess to Atlantis) is $355 including taxes & fees! Quite a savings!

Here is my question-- the hotels check in time is 3PM & checkout time is 11AM. I just booked it for Tues. June 28, the day we will be arriving in port. , but now I am second guessing myself that I should have booked it for the day before we arrive-- not sure how that works with the wristbands-- are they good for the entire day you check in or just from 3:00PM on?

If anybody knows the answer or could point me to the correct dis-discussion board (I'm SURE there must be one) I'd really appreciate it!

Thanks,
Tricia

PS-- I am SOOO excited that the Magic will be in NYC summer 2012 (I am in CT) I have a list of cruises to book in the morning!!!:banana::banana:

Thank you soooooooooo much for posting this inside tip!:woohoo:

We just booked a room at the Comfort Inn in Nassau and SAVED BIG! :cool1:

I told the reservation specialist why I was booking a room and she said not to worry. She said to just come to the hotel as soon as we can and they will give us a hotel card that we take over to Atlantis and use to get our water park passes!:goodvibes

Is anyone going to Atlantis on Nassau? On your own or through Disney? Going to look into it on our own. Swam with the dolphins last time we were there. Thinking it might be too crowded onboard with people staying on.

How many days are we out?!?!?!:cool1:

I just canceled the dolphin swim for 12:45 at Blue Lagoon. I really wanted to spend the whole day on the beach and didn't want to miss those morning hours... So we decided to try Aquaventure and even though it is booked with Disney, we were able to get a room at the Comfort Inn (which includes access to Atlantis' beaches and water park). :thumbsup2

Here's to hoping we all have a GREAT day in the Bahamas!:)

A perk of working for a school system...SPRING BREAK :cool1: Happy spring break to anyone else who may be out of school this week.

My DBF also wishes a Shalom Passover to any other Jews who are celebrating.

We have school through Wednesday, and then the teachers have professional development Thurs. and Fri., meaning no school for us! I'm not going anywhere, except a GIANT birthday party for William Shakespeare xD

So, because its spring in Ontario, we had snow yesterday:scared1: Fortunately, it knew better than to stick around!:cool1:

We get both this Friday and next Monday off for Easter, so we are heading down to SW Florida to catch a bit of sun....can't wait!

DSD dislocated her shoulder the Friday before last (April 8th). It was the 2nd time in 6 months. She goes in for shoulder surgery this Friday (April 22nd). She SHOULD (fingers crossed) be out of her sling in time for our cruise.

She's one tough cookie though I tell you. Girls Flag Football is HUGE down here in South Florida (every high school has a team) and the recreation league in our area has over 400 girls playing it. Anyway...she dislocated it during a game about 2 minutes before halftime (she's quarterback AND cornerback for her HS team). She popped it back into place :scared1: (like Mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon) and finished the 1st half before walking off the field all ticked off because she had to leave the game to go to the Walk-in-Clinic.

SO, HOPEFULLY we will have something else to celebrate during our cruise...her recovery!

Awwww, poor girl!! :sad2: Best wishes to her for a speedy recovery!:hug:

CAN YOU BELIEVE HOW CLOSE WE ARE GETTING!!!!! :yay::yay: It seems like we have been planning for SOOOOOO long! I can not wait to get onboard and meet everyone! My group will be wearing shirts with our Lanyard Logo on embarkation day..... well this is the plan anyway. I still have to make them!:scared1:
I was in Indiana for a seminar last week--- learned lots!
This past weekend, my siblings and I hosted a 50th Wedding Anniversary Party for our parents! :bride: It was a huge success and they were completely surprised!
NOW TIME TO GET ORGANIZED AND START PACKING!!!:woohoo::woohoo:

5 days until the two month countdown!!!! :D

An announcement for any fellow New Hampshirites:

Beauty and the Beast will be performed June 9, 10, and 12 at 7pm, with a 2pm matinee on Sunday. If you would like to see it, please PM me for more details. Thanks! :)

everyone to meet on embarktion day at 3pm at the Vista Cafe on deck 4. I printed up our Lanyard logo on a big 8x10 sheet and also a green disboard Mickey Head so you can spot our group. At that time My family and I and some members of the lanyard team will pass out the lanyards to everyone.*** If you can't make it at that time I will make sure to go to your staterooms and put them in your FE's sometime that evening. OK.:wizard:

Great, Thanks!! - see you there!!

I have been off too - seems I save so much stuff for this week that I dont get time to relax - but it has still been nice and rain has cancelled today's soccer games so it looks like I can get some things done around here :)

I keep telling myself I will get around to making some t-shirts too but I need a printer that will print the transfer - I dont think mine will because it is a scanner/printer and I read they get too hot - are you doing transfers? Have you done them before? Good Luck with yours!!

We did this too! So there will be quite a group heading over to Atlantis!

Bumping us up from Page 4!!!! There is a cruise coming up!!! We are going to have to get some excitement back in this thread!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

YOU ARE SO RIGHT!!!! WHERE IS ALL THE EXCITEMENT!!!! IS EVERYONE BUSY PACKING????

Well, I have all of our FE gifts sorted and in bags ready to go! And we have officially started packing!!! We have had our 'Cruise Box' out for a while and put things in it as we find them but now the cruise box has been sorted and things are in suitcases!

We are having a 'Bon Voyage' party May 22! We will be making shirts with our cruise logo and tie dying more Mickey shirts.

So, how many of us are going to WDW before our cruise? We will be there on the 21st!

I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!

We are heading to the World on the 24th. While not quite as organized as some others we are definitely excited!! Heading back to reality tomorrow after some Easter sunshine in Florida. Then I can finalize my FE plans.

Started packing some clothes. All my FE stuff is baged and ready to go so are all the lanyards all printed, seperated into bags and labeled by families disboard names and stateroom #'s.
My daughter and I tried on dresses and shoes the other day deciding which ones to bring on the cruise. Made some reverse tie dye shirts for the cruise.

I am so excited!!!! June can't get here fast enough!
Can't wait to meet everyone!!!

DSD's surgery went well. A little more damage was discovered once the doctor was in but he cleaned it up and she's on the road to recovery.

Received my FE that I ordered on eBay and our last name was spelled wrong. :sad2: So I contacted the seller and sent it back for her to correct.

I can't believe that we're two months away! So many life changes are going on right now and for the first time in a long time it feels like all the pieces are falling into place (knock on wood). :dance3:

Glad to hear the surgery went well. Sending prayers for a speedy recovery.
Sorry to hear about your FE being spelled wrong what a bummer. I hope it's fixed quickly.
59 days to go!!!:cheer2:

My dresses are all set, and some of my clothes...

I ended up using the lime green shirt I bought for reverse tye-dye as a Tinker Bell shirt! Flipped it over, cut off the sleeves and neck until I had a tube, made the bottom jagged, and put a drawstring in the bottom hem...crafty me :)

Look for me in my shirt and brown skirt on Pirate Night! :D

WOW! One tough cookie is right:thumbsup2
Tell her she has to take it easy now and heal so she doesn't miss the Aqua Duck.

Oh I would so be there if I lived closer. Post some pics here please!!

We'll be at WDW for the day and night before the cruise, but not the parks. Staying at the Beach Club for the first time as relatively new DVC members:woohoo:
Also made a dinner ressie for the restuarant at the Beach Club (gotta look up the name again) for the night before the cruise
-so if anyone is there let us know so we can say hello :wave2:

Glad DSD's surgery went well.
Also glad you caught the typo in the FE in time to fix it:thumbsup2
Something to be said for not leaving that to the last minute.
We're re-using the FE that we bought for our 2008 cruise. This will be our third time using it (and will probably use it many more)-so that is definitely money well spent.

A zip tie to secure the loop to the fish makes sure the FE does get "lost".

Very impressed with all you crafty people out there:thumbsup2

I'm a science geek and the closest I come to crafty is an occasional scrapbook class .. In the scrapbook class everything needs to be explained to me multiple times before I get it...and one of these days I'll actually finish a project:rolleyes1
